In 2006, Oeyama-cho, which merged with Fukuchiyama City, was known for its demon legend as a way to promote the town. They had a type of soba called "demon soba" in Oeyama, which used to be available at Fukuchiyama Station's soba shop. However, the shop closed in 2005 due to the station's renovation. But fear not, there is a shop in the city area that serves "demon soba". The shop is called "Futaba" and it is located near Narumi High School. The shop mainly serves okonomiyaki. The atmosphere inside the shop is dimly lit, and when the writer arrived, there was no one there. Eventually, the elderly lady who runs the shop returned and recommended the writer to try the "herring soba" instead of the regular "demon soba". The writer agreed and enjoyed the herring soba, which was delicious. The soba is made from Oeyama's buckwheat and is brought in from there. The writer also tried herring, which was a nice addition to the meal. The writer found the experience of dining at Futaba to be a charming step back in time, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
