I had some business in Fukuchiyama City and happened to pass by the storefront. Oh, it's Dosanko from Pelican! I have a memory of when I was young, about 35 years ago, my father took me to a Dosanko shop to share miso butter corn ramen. It was located near a coin laundry or a coin car wash, I think. My mother also made miso butter corn ramen for me at home a few times because I wanted to eat it! Even though it tasted different from the restaurant, it was delicious. Sometimes, I also got Sapporo ramen with curly noodles from Nishiyama Seimen at a local product exhibition or through mail order. When I became an adult, I also visited the store in Otsu City on R161, but it has been closed for a long time now. I indulged in the nostalgia by having lunch twice in a row. I don't know how long this restaurant has been in business. The building looks old, but I wonder if it has been renovated or if it is a relatively new store because it has a neat appearance. They had a great set menu (miso ramen, fried chicken, rice), but I was particularly drawn to the black pork dumplings and non-alcoholic beer. The water was self-service, and even the cups had Dosanko from Pelican on them! The non-alcoholic beer glass was plain, but it was a 6-tan glass. After a while, the ramen was ready, and the dumplings were cooked. The bowl also had Dosanko from Pelican on it! The taste was nostalgic, especially the soup. I don't remember sesame seeds being in it in the past. The seaweed, bean sprouts, and corn were still there. The noodles were not curly... probably. I'm not sure if Dosanko used to have curly noodles, but I think Nishiyama Seimen's ramen did. While eating, I was overwhelmed by nostalgia (laughs). Tears didn't come out, but childhood memories flooded my mind. The dumpling plate also had Dosanko from Pelican on it! The black pork dumplings taste more modern than the taste of a Showa-era Chinese restaurant. It's something I can enjoy with non-alcoholic beer as an adult (bitter smile). There are many comics next to the entrance, and there are both table and counter seats inside. The restroom is Japanese-style, and there was hand soap and paper towels at the sink. There was an ashtray on the counter. Smoking may be allowed throughout the store. There is probably a shared parking lot in front of the store. There were other customers, including someone in work clothes, who ordered the set menu. Maybe they were a couple? The man and woman were working hard. Thank you for the meal.
