On a regular day at 1pm, I was able to park in front of the store and head to the counter. There was a clear comparison of the size of the pizzas right in front of me. Today's lunch was at "Ishigama Bar 6peace" in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, just down from Gojo Gozen. It is a stone oven bar with a simple exterior and terrace seating. It is located quite far back. The sign is visible from afar on the street. There is space in front of the restaurant for parking two cars. Inside, there are spacious tables and a counter. The staff are dressed in Halloween costumes. They offer classic Margherita pizzas as well as unique options like the Shiro Margherita. Popular choices for children, women, and men are available. The Basil series includes a green Margherita. During lunchtime, they also offer affordable hamburgers. The dishes, including garlic shrimp and appetizers, are authentic. I ordered the "Shiro Margherita + Prosciutto and Dried Tomato Salad" for 1980 yen. They mentioned that as part of their anniversary celebration, a small pizza would also be included with the order. It's their third anniversary. They mentioned that it's okay to take the extra pizza home if it's too much. The plates were wrapped in plastic for hygiene. Inside the restaurant, there is an impressive stone oven. The menu includes a statement about the pizza. The salad was generous for one person. The texture and saltiness of the prosciutto complemented the salad well. The green and black olives added a nice touch. The white Margherita pizza arrived, accompanied by oil. The white Margherita doesn't have tomato sauce, but instead uses dried tomatoes to highlight the cheese. As mentioned in the statement, the pizza should be eaten hot! When eaten hot, the cheese stretches. The dough and crust are thick and fluffy, with a wheaty flavor. After finishing the first pizza and feeling full, I asked for the Arrabbiata as a takeout. It was quite spicy with plenty of cheese. I enjoyed a generous serving of authentic pizza.

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, takeout has become popular at many places recently. I chose my favorite Bismarck pizza and my wife chose the White Margherita. We also got a Caesar salad. The pizzas cost around 1200 yen each, and you can enjoy freshly baked delicious pizza at a reasonable price. Both pizzas were incredibly delicious, and we were both very satisfied. We ended up eating too much for lunch, but it was a very satisfying takeout lunch. This is a place where you can try various types of pizza. This new restaurant in the neighborhood seems to be doing well with a good crowd, especially with moms and families with young children. The waitstaff, mostly cute young women, seem a bit shy and inexperienced in the food and beverage industry. If they seem hesitant, it's good to cheerfully call out for their attention to place an order. They serve a delicious creamy draft beer called Premol Ale, which is popular among women due to its mild bitterness and easy drinkability. The price is quite reasonable at 400 yen per glass. They also offer craft beers in bottles, but I decided to pass on that. They have a small selection of wines as well, ranging from around 2000 yen for Chilean wines to 5000 yen for French wines, which is fair considering it's slightly above market price. The alcohol prices are reasonable, including highballs. The side dishes were a bit lacking in portion size for sharing between two people, and just as we started on those, a pizza was unexpectedly brought to our table. It seemed a bit rushed and not in line with the concept of having the pizza freshly baked in a stone oven after placing an order. The pizza was lightly cooked with visible white spots on the dough, which I personally prefer a bit more well-done with a crispy crust and some charred parts. Overall, the experience was decent, but there were some inconsistencies compared to what was advertised in the web leaflet.

Recently, the chewy dough seems to be popular. It looks like it's made in a stone oven with a hand-tossed style, but the dough fermentation is too sweet and sticky, which ruins the whole stone oven experience. The lunch portion seems to be geared towards women as it is exceptionally small. I wondered if there is a demand for a pizza that doesn't even amount to a single serving per slice. However, maybe it's enjoyable to have a variety of dishes. What surprised me the most was the steak-like menu for lunch, but the sauce was a store-bought BBQ sauce, with about 100g of meat served on a small plate with a little rice and no soup, all for over 1000 yen. I thought it was unreasonable. For this price, they could use better quality cheese and ingredients. It was a bit disappointing.

I made a reservation at a pizza place I had been curious about and went there. I ordered the Margherita and the daily special for lunch. I arrived at the opening time, but there were already people picking up orders and it was bustling. Despite being busy, I didn't have to wait long for my pizzas to be served. They were all very delicious, so I ended up ordering an additional pizza for takeout as well. I know things must be tough due to COVID, but I hope they keep up the good work. I don't want them to become so popular that I can't make a reservation anymore, haha. The staff were all very friendly, and the food was delicious. I will definitely be back!

Around 6:00 PM, on the way back from a walk, I discovered this place. It's located near Gojo-Gozen, a little before Hanaya-cho (around the opposite side of "That Ramen Shop Kataguruma"). There used to be a stylish izakaya here (though I had never been there), but it seems this new shop opened in January last year. Perhaps they are refraining from dine-in service? They were selling pizza outside. They mentioned that they also have a dining area. It was my first time, so I bought one piece of each pizza... At that time, there were six types of pizza and one type of bread available for sale. I couldn't see the names of five out of the six pizzas because there were other customers as well (--). The remaining pizza can be frozen, they said (^^). The "Tomato & Basil" pizza was 100 yen per slice, while the others (whose names I don't know) were 200 yen each. I thought they would provide some sort of container, but they put each slice in a plastic bag and then placed them in a bag similar to those from supermarkets... Well, they're not freshly made, but... they'll be stored vertically (--). They included a paper with instructions on how to reheat them. I warmed them up in the toaster when I got home. They were all delicious, but the dough itself was quite salty (>_<), even though the toppings (ingredients and sauce) were all quite tasty. I was surprised that the curry-flavored pizza was spicier than I expected (^^;). Once this situation settles down, I hope to try their freshly made pizzas at the shop... It might be tough until then, but I hope they do well. *It seems they are operating until 8:00 PM during this period.*
