A dining establishment located in the heart of Kyoto and Kameoka City. Known for its organic dishes made with plenty of vegetables and dried goods, which are gentle on the body and delicious. The restaurant, called "saji," is a favorite of Chi, who resides in Kyoto. I tried their original grain mustard dressing that is used in their lunch plate. The dressing comes in a 280ml bottle, with no additives. I was worried if I could finish it all, but this dressing works like magic! It has a mellow acidity from the grain mustard and a garlic accent in a soy sauce base. Perfect for a green salad! I poured it generously over a healthy salad with lettuce, cabbage, daikon, sprouts, chicken breast, tomato, and sea chicken. It goes well with tofu and sashimi too! You can also use it as a marinade. The grain mustard adds a nice kick and it's so delicious! I finished it in no time. The bottle design is cute and adds a fun touch to the fridge. Why do commercial dressing designs all look the same with vegetable illustrations? Chi, thank you for always sharing delicious things! Looking forward to our Kameoka excursion someday.

I always go to Kameoka Izumo Oyamajingu Shrine to collect the spring water that gushes out, then drive a little to the town of Kameoka. It was too hot to cook with fire at home, so I made a reservation for a bento box online. I have bought it a few times before, and it is full of vegetables and fried foods made with safe vegetables and ingredients. It also comes with miso soup, which is very delicious and convenient. I also bought the usual dressing from the store. The bento box is not that big, but it is packed with side dishes all the way to the bottom. When transferred to a large plate, it looks like it's going to overflow. Each vegetable has a different seasoning - hijiki is seasoned in a Japanese style, while other vegetables have a subtle hint of herbs or spices, making them very delicious. The fried food also adds to the satisfaction. The miso soup is also delicious. It's a lifesaver - please help me again next time. Thank you for the meal.

On the way back from Osaka, I ate soba noodles and then immediately reserved some side dishes to eat at this nearby restaurant at night. Lately, I've been feeling a bit tired and don't have the energy to cook. The takeout from this place is very delicious and vegetable-focused. It may look like a small pack, but it's quite filling when you open it up. There were plenty of spring rolls on a large plate. Of course, everything was delicious. For dessert, I had a generous portion of a light and tasty pudding in a jar. I had a nice chat with the staff and took a leisurely break. Thank you for the meal, I'll be back again soon!

There was no evacuation damage in Osaka due to the typhoon, but the day after Queen Elizabeth's funeral, I will return to Kyoto. I found "Makomotake" for sale on Instagram and stopped by on my way back. I love Makomotake. The first time I tried it was in a Chinese dish, stir-fried with beef, and it was delicious. Since then, I have occasionally come across Makomotake and always buy it immediately. It's not bamboo shoots, so please see the photo for an explanation. When I got back, I didn't have the energy to cook dinner, so I bought some takeout side dishes as well. Even though I didn't order much, they packed a lot for me, and when I transferred it to a plate at home, there was a huge amount - about seven different dishes. It was a comforting taste. I watched the beautiful footage of Queen Elizabeth's funeral on TV and the next day, I made Makomotake kinpira to cheer myself up a bit, along with a little sake. Makomotake kinpira goes well with it. When my daughter and her husband, who had returned from visiting a grave, came back for dinner, we opened a Moroccan souvenir from a friend - Hotel Aman's Rouge - and toasted. It was a wonderful feast. The appetizer was Makomotake kinpira, which paired perfectly. Eating delicious food with loved ones made me happy. The restaurant is a favorite of mine, and my daughter has never been there, so I plan to take her there someday.

The dressing was so delicious that I sent it to my friends. Dressings often end up just sleeping in the fridge after buying, but this one quickly disappeared. My friends finished it quickly too! So I had to go buy more. Of course, I also had lunch there. They serve a variety of fresh vegetable side dishes and a main dish. On this day, it was small diced potatoes and meatballs with a crispy texture. It tasted like hamburger and was delicious. I want to try making it myself. I often make crispy pork and lotus root hamburgers. There are about 8 kinds of vegetables and some oily dishes like fried or stir-fried dishes as side dishes. Everything is simply seasoned with flavors that make you feel energetic and happy. It's very delicious. I still haven't given them the dressing yet. I wonder if I'll be able to see them again.

When I checked Instagram, I saw that there were still openings, so I immediately messaged to make a reservation! I had some errands to run in Kameoka, so I had a slightly late lunch. This lunch set is one of my favorites, with plenty of vegetables. The renovated old house has high ceilings and a calm atmosphere. But most importantly, the proprietress and owner are both very beautiful people! I was the last customer that day, so after eating, I ended up chatting and staying longer. The lunch set includes rice, miso soup, and a plate with various items like carrots, daikon radish, purple cabbage, white and green onions, and a salad with plenty of veggies. In the middle, there's fried tofu and chickpea fritters. Everything is generously portioned and very delicious. And for dessert, there's a simple yet tasty biscuit, just like the ones served at the restaurant. They also sell the tea and seasonings they use, which is fun to browse and choose from. I bought organic Earl Grey tea and sent it to my daughter. Their takeout bento boxes are also popular! The restaurant is located just a 1-minute walk from the supermarket where I bought those delicious hairy crabs. I look forward to going back for both the food and the shopping experience!

I was finally able to visit the restaurant that I was interested in after reading the reviews by Hanhichi, who I follow. Before visiting the restaurant, I imagined it to be a cafe-style establishment, but it turned out to be a calm and cozy place with a traditional building design. The lunch menu consisted of the daily special "Today's Lunch" (1,200 yen) which came with a drink that you could choose from the drink menu. The white plate presented to me included chicken and tofu meatball salad, a variety of vegetable side dishes, and chilled pumpkin soup all in one plate, along with a bowl of rice. I was advised by the staff to start with the soup while it was cold, so I tried it first. It was very creamy with a hint of sweetness from the pumpkin, and the chilled temperature made it refreshing. Next, I had the salad which had a slightly sweet taste with a light dressing that was not too sour. The main dish, the meatball, had a crispy outer layer and a gentle tofu flavor inside, while the vegetable side dishes ranged from sweet to tangy, such as simmered hijiki with tomato sauce. The variety of flavors and the abundance of vegetables made it a healthy yet delicious lunch with high satisfaction. After the meal, I enjoyed a bitter hot coffee before leaving the restaurant. Although the price of 1,200 yen for lunch may seem a bit high, considering the included drink and the generous amount of ingredients used, I found it to be worth the price. The meal was very healthy and tasty with a lot of vegetables. For those planning to visit, it is recommended to check the official Instagram of the restaurant as they have irregular days off.

Today is garbage day, so dangerous! I also need to go to the city hall to get a seal certificate. I'll drive there. I don't go to Kyoto city often these days, even though I live in the countryside. It takes about an hour by car to get to Kameoka, where there are narrow roads and beautiful mountains to drive through. Today, I'm driving my Mini instead of my usual Jimny, and I must say, the ride is much smoother. I checked out a few places today, starting with an Italian restaurant, but they were closed. However, I found a great place called Al Al, which is right next to a supermarket called Super Amity that has a wide variety of fish. I had a vegetable-focused lunch with 10 different types of vegetables, including a tofu croquette with yam and corn. It was delicious! The vegetables were seasoned perfectly, and the cold soup with tofu, cucumber, and perilla leaf was very refreshing. I also enjoyed a cold ginger ale. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch, and I even saw some people getting takeout. I could probably make these vegetable dishes at home, but having so many varieties at once would be quite a task. I left feeling very content. On the way back, I stopped by the supermarket to buy some items since I forgot my cooler and ice packs. I bought some dried fish, seaweed, and vegetables. Now, I'm thinking about where else to go. I really wanted to go to a day spa, but I forgot the ice packs, so it might not be a good idea.

I went to a cafe called Tsukiyomi in Kameoka before noon and asked if there were any good restaurants nearby. They told me about a place near Super Amity. Although I wasn't familiar with Amity, I was surprised by the abundance of seafood. It's just a few steps away from there, in an old building with a glass front. Inside, the exposed old beams give it a nice natural feel. The female owner had a natural menu as well. I chose the taro and rapeseed, and silk tofu quiche. The base of the quiche was made of silk tofu, and it was filled with about 10 different types of vegetables, miso soup, and black rice. There were finely chopped pumpkins too! Everything was fresh and delicious. I forgot to take photos because I was busy taking videos for my post, but it was a great dining experience. I enjoyed my meal while watching the cars pass by outside the old building. I also had a coffee and decided to come back to this nice place. On my way back, I did some shopping at Super Amity. They had a wide variety of fresh and affordable seafood like Thai fish and octopus. The parking lot was spacious too. When I got home, I made a Thai fish roe and egg dish. It has nothing to do with the restaurant, just something I like to do. Just a usual day!

This is my second visit to this cafe. There is no parking lot, but Amity Kameoka is located nearby. Despite being a small cafe, it has a cozy and warm atmosphere with wooden decor. The seating includes two 2-person tables, one 4-person table, a sofa that can seat 2-4 people, and two counter seats. The lunch menu offers a choice of two daily changing main dishes, each served with vegetable side dishes, miso soup, rice, and a drink (tax included 1000 yen). The only dessert available is waffle with ice cream on top (tax included 500 yen). The lunch set includes a drink, so ordering it together makes for a satisfying dessert as well. The total cost is only 1500 yen, which is very fulfilling. This time, I chose the fried car-fu for lunch. It was my first time trying it, and it was crispy and had a great texture. The colorful vegetable side dishes were also delicious, with various vegetables prepared in different ways. Perfect for those who like to try a variety of flavors in small portions! The seasoning of each dish was excellent. I especially liked the dried daikon radish salad with a vinegar-based dressing. The right amount of sourness from the vinegar and the crunchy texture were amazing! The waffle was beautifully presented and had a thin crispy surface. Eating it with the cold ice cream and blueberry jam brought a smile to my face. The owner is a lovely and friendly person with a gentle demeanor. I ended up staying longer than planned because of the comfortable atmosphere and engaging conversation. Please note that the regular holiday has changed from April, and they are closed on Fridays. Despite the short opening hours from 11:00 to 15:00 on weekdays, it is a wonderful place worth visiting even if it takes over an hour to get there.

I had some business to attend to in Kameoka, so I dropped by this place for lunch. It's located next to Amitei in Furuse-cho, so it's easy to find. The exterior has a Kyoto city Ukyo-ku vibe. The lunch options were either "Tofu Hamburger" or "Thai Curry," and I decided to go with the curry. It had big slices of sweet potato, plenty of chicken and mushrooms, and a mild and gentle flavor that allowed the vegetables to shine. The rice seemed to have pressed barley in it, and it was delicious. The coffee served after the meal came in a retro-looking cup, reminiscent of ones used by parents in childhood. The coffee had a nice acidity to it. The place has a cute and clean atmosphere, catering to various needs like stopping by for tea after picking up kids from nursery school or having a meal with grandma. It was quiet when I visited, but I'm sure it's a beloved spot among locals. Kameoka is quite charming! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited saji, which opened in the spring of 2015, as the first fashionable spot in Kameoka. It is located along the Super Amity Street. As soon as you step inside the shop, you will think, "Is this really Kameoka?" because it is so stylish. Lovely items collected by the owner's hobby are displayed everywhere. The seating options include sofas, tables, and a counter for one person, creating a comfortable space that you can choose based on your mood or situation. On the day I visited, there were several families with children, so I had reserved a kids' lunch in advance. To my surprise, as soon as we entered, the kids' lunch box was brought out! Zero waiting time (great service for impatient children), and the thoughtful gesture of being able to take home any leftovers made me grateful. The lunch menu changes weekly and on the day I visited, it included fried tofu croquettes with hijiki simmered dish, potato salad, and corn rice. They were all gently seasoned, homey, and heartwarming. It seems that they use plenty of locally grown pesticide-free vegetables to promote local production and consumption. This was also delightful! The waffle I ordered as an extra was crispy and fluffy, and incredibly delicious. I was able to relax and enjoy my time there. The kids were warmly taken care of, and there were picture books and toys on the bookshelf in the store, so the children could have a good time without getting bored. I hope more and more of these kinds of shops will continue to increase! Keep up the good work, owner. In one corner of the shop, there are many cute items for sale, such as accessories from local jewelry makers and handmade clothes. They also hold an event called "369 Market" with pesticide-free vegetables from a local shop called 369 Store once a week, so I would definitely like to check that out too!

At the 2023.02 contract birthday party, I received a gift from my foodie friend in Kyoto during our usual souvenir exchange. It was saji's dressing from the cafeteria "saji" in Kameoka, Kyoto. This is the third time I've received this, and it doesn't last long because it doesn't contain preservatives or additives. The dressing, made with vinegar, soy sauce, honey, rapeseed oil, whole grain mustard, and garlic, has a refreshing and lightly acidic taste with a hidden garlic flavor and aroma that I really like. I used it to dress a salad with coriander, chrysanthemum greens, and seaweed when I made shrimp pilaf and pot-au-feu. The dressing complements the unique flavors of coriander and chrysanthemum greens well, so I often make this salad. I also enjoyed it on a salad with coriander, baby leaf lettuce, and tomatoes. Luckily, my stock of sesame dressing was running out, so this was a great timing. Thank you for the delicious gift!

My favorite dressing became a gift, and almost everyone requested more! Even my daughter liked it, and she asked me to buy more when I pass by Kameoka. I quickly placed an order before going to Osaka. It was my day off, but they kindly opened the door for me and prepared the bento I had ordered. They even gave me some delicious Kimbap to eat on the way. It was so tasty! They have a Kimbap lunch day at the restaurant, so I must go there soon. On that day, I went to Osaka for yakiniku, and I brought some dressing for the people I was meeting. They were so happy to receive it because they wanted more! I also received a homemade Peperoncino sauce from Kinako-san, so I made pasta and broccoli salad when I got home. I topped the broccoli with Sai-san's dressing, and it was delicious! It felt like eating at a restaurant. I'm satisfied. This dressing is versatile and can be used for marinating vegetables, making it very convenient. For those who haven't received it as a gift yet, keep your expectations high!

I went to Yumekusa's event to meet Sai-san. Sai-san's favorite dish at the restaurant in Kameoka is the dressing, which is so delicious. I wonder how many bottles I've bought already. I've mostly given them as gifts to my foodie friends, who all seem to really like it. On this day, I bought the takeout curry, which looked very delicious, and also bought a jar of purple cabbage marinated. We had it for dinner, and the curry had a perfect level of spiciness with lots of vegetables. The purple cabbage marinated was also delicious with a nice tangy flavor. As always, Sai-san's food is so delicious. I had a great time at the event chatting with various people and enjoying the winter atmosphere.

My friend told me that she used up the dressing I gave her as a souvenir at the end of last year right away. I always have dressings and seasonings in the refrigerator, but I always use them until the last drop, and I feel withdrawal symptoms when they run out. I also ran out of dressing, so I bought some when I went shopping in Kameoka. I also bought other things I wanted. One of them is Kazukarashi from Saikunodokoro Hodo Hodo-ya, which is made from Japanese mustard seeds grown naturally without oil and dust, ground with a millstone into powder. It was a labor-intensive process, but the flavor is amazing. I bought the paste version. I used it as a condiment for the KURKKU FIELDE Charcuterie Terrine I received as a gift, and its sharpness really enhances the flavor. I usually use store-bought whole grain mustard, but this one brings out the flavor of the food without the acidity. Saikunodokoro's dishes are simple and delicious, and their selection of seasonings and vegetables are natural, safe, and very tasty.

Last year in December for my birthday, I received a gift that came in a cardboard box. It was one of the four bottles of dressing that my favorite shop in Kyoto, Mailebi, sells. I remember reading a review where someone was wondering who they should give the bottles to as a gift for their friends. If it were me, I wouldn't say out loud that I wanted it, but whenever I think something is nice, everyone kindly ends up giving it to me. So I kept my thoughts to myself secretly hoping for it. And then, one of the bottles arrived. It was like a telepathic connection! Thank you! As expected, if I ever run out, I will definitely go buy it. It's Saji dressing. The balance between acidity and sweetness is perfect, making it very delicious. After eating salad, I even drink the leftover dressing. It's so tasty that I use it in Japanese, Western, raw, or grilled dishes - it enhances the flavor no matter what. It's truly a magical Saji dressing. My daughter also agreed that it was delicious and we used it all up. Thank you for the delicious dressing!

The treasure that arrived in a cardboard box as a birthday gift from a dining companion in December 2020 was something I had requested myself~♪ From the cafeteria "saji" in Kameoka City, Kyoto: ◆saji Dressing I received this dressing back in August and had already used it up, so when my dining companion visited the store again in December and said, "I like this dressing so much that I want to give it as a gift to my friends. This time, I bought 4 bottles. Now, who will receive them~" I immediately commented, "I'm looking forward to it (excited)." They replied, "Oh, I already gave it to you once," but they still made sure to include it in the box. This dressing, made with vinegar, soy sauce, honey, rapeseed oil, whole grain mustard, and garlic, does not contain preservatives or additives, so it doesn't last long. It has a refreshing, light Japanese-style taste with a good acidity, and the subtle taste and aroma of hidden garlic are nice. I commented in a previous review. This time, I used it to generously drizzle over a "Coriander Salad." I cut coriander and chrysanthemum greens a few centimeters, rinsed them in water, drained them well, arranged them in a cool glass dish, and drizzled "saji's dressing" on top, garnishing with lemon wedges. It's simple, but the addictive deliciousness is amazing. The dressing skillfully combines the unique aroma and taste of coriander and chrysanthemum greens, making it a good accompaniment to alcohol. My dining companion also sent this to Myrebi in Tokyo, who shares the same birth month. Myrebi made a salad with finely sliced traditional preserved fish from Nishi Izu, mixed with onion slices, wakame seaweed, and yuzu, and drizzled with this dressing. Inspired by that, I sliced and marinated amberjack that had been cured with kelp, added raw egg yolk soy sauce just before eating, mixed it with three types of sprouts, julienned myoga and carrots, and placed it on a plate, drizzling "saji's dressing" over it to make a "Marinated Amberjack Salad." The kelp-cured amberjack, enhanced with sweetness and richness, combined with the egg yolk soy sauce, created a rich flavor, and the combination of vegetables and refreshing dressing was a hit. Delicious! It goes well with alcohol~ Cheers~ It was a great success. Thank you for the meal (●^o^●)

I get tired of dressings and sauces sometimes, or forget about them and end up with a little bit left in the fridge! But this dressing is so good that I always finish it and run out to buy more as soon as it's gone. I love it so much that I even want to give it as a gift to my friends. I bought 4 bottles this time. The shop, Kameoka Lunch, has a natural and delicious dressing, and the female owner is very friendly and natural too. You can have a nice chat and enjoy your time there. The dressing is made without any unnecessary ingredients.

On August 2021, I enjoyed a "Chinese lunch" with a friend at the Tenjinbashi-Suji shopping street near my house, followed by a coffee time. Normally, we would have a souvenir exchange event afterwards, but due to the pandemic, we couldn't go shopping much so I asked to skip it this time. However, my friend shared with me a "moon peach leaf" and a passion fruit that she received from her friend from Amami Oshima. Additionally, I got a homemade "manju" as a souvenir on my way back from visiting a grave. Furthermore, during a trip to Kameoka City in Kyoto, I visited the cafeteria "saji" which is currently on a one-month summer break, but I was able to buy their dressing by contacting them. I got 5 bottles of dressing, one of which I plan to use on pesticide-free vegetables that keep arriving from my neighborhood. I also gave one to a friend born in August, one to my daughter, and the last one... where should it go? The final bottle ended up with me (happy). I was planning to make pork cutlet curry that day and serve it with a vegetable salad, so the dressing was perfect! I cut the passion fruit from Amami Oshima in half, placed it on a moon peach leaf, and cracked a raw egg into the pork cutlet curry. I garnished it with pickled scallions and pickles, and also prepared a cold corn potage. The refreshing vegetable salad on a glass plate consisted of a mix of vegetables from the supermarket, diced apples, avocados, and lemon, garnished with cherry tomatoes and red radish sprouts. I drizzled plenty of "saji's dressing" over it and enjoyed the meal. The dressing, made with vinegar, soy sauce, honey, rapeseed oil, whole grain mustard, and garlic, is preservative-free and additive-free, with a light acidity and a hidden garlic flavor and aroma. Thanks to these gifts, the pork cutlet curry turned into a feast. Thank you very much. Bon appétit! (●^o^●)
