In Gion, there is a bridge with a strong presence, quietly flowing Shirakawa River, exuding elegance and making you feel the passage of time. At the foot of that bridge is the popular restaurant "Lunchy." The first floor has a counter and tables, while the second floor has private rooms. The lunch menu is luxurious and visually stunning. One recommended dish is the "Choco Choco Delicious Ochoko Don Lunch Set" for 2,480 yen, which includes 8 varieties of Ochoko Don: - Hagoromo Otoshi Don (Daiyo, Hagoromo, Ume Meat, Yuzu) - Eel Tamago Don (Dashimaki Tamago, Eel, Kinshi Tamago, Miso) - Tai Chazuke Don (Ooba, Sea Bream, Ikura Soy Sauce Pickled, Bubu Arare) - Sweet Shrimp and Crab Miso Don (Kinshi Tamago, Sweet Shrimp, Crab Miso) - Yuba Don (Yaki Nori, Yuba, Uni, Mitsuba) - Kyoto Pork Don (Kyoto Pork, Arima Sansho, Soy Sauce Dressing, Gold Powder) - Kyoto Duck Roast Don (Kyoto Duck, White Negi, Soy Sauce Dressing, Kujo Negi) - Beef Shigure Don (Beef Shigure Stew, Namul, Furo) They use a broth made from Sawara, a type of fish with a strong umami taste, which is very elegant. Enjoy it with soy sauce, Sawara broth, and Kyoto pickles. This luxurious and happy set includes a variety of Kyoto ingredients, allowing you to enjoy a little bit of each dish without getting bored. The vinegar rice bowls are also delicious, and before you know it, you'll have finished everything. Whether you enjoy a leisurely lunch in a private room or have a fun time at a table, Lunchy in Gion is a great place to enjoy a slightly luxurious lunch. If you want to have a wonderful lunch during your Kyoto sightseeing, I highly recommend trying this place. It was delicious. Thank you for the feast. m(_ _)m

I always used to get a seat at the sunken kotatsu table, but this time I was seated at the counter. A bit disappointing. For lunch, everyone seemed to be choosing mini-donburi dishes that looked great for photos, but I stuck with my usual choice here. For 2000 yen, you can choose a main dish and there are plenty of Korean side dishes. This time, I chose Jajangmyeon and Kimbap. The Jajangmyeon was quite sweet. The tea and sweets at the end were delicious, and I was able to spend a relaxing 90 minutes.

In Gion, we enjoyed Kyoto's specialty ingredients such as pike conger eel at a reasonable price, which we thought was great value for money. The restaurant was bustling with customers of all ages, but mostly young women. With a reservation, the service was smooth and efficient. The visually appealing mini-donburi bowls were so cute that everyone was taking pictures with their phones. There are also famous warabi mochi shops nearby, so hopping around is recommended.

During the Obon holiday in Kyoto, the city is still hot as usual, but with fewer tourists due to the approaching typhoon. I parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot and arrived at the restaurant at my reserved time. The counter had a quaint atmosphere, but I preferred a table for a leisurely meal. I ordered the popular Ochoko Don lunch set. The eight different bowls were beautifully arranged and colorful. It was enjoyable to eat them one by one as shown in the menu. The small size of each bowl made it easy to finish the whole meal without feeling overwhelmed. It was a satisfying dining experience.

I visited Gion Kankan Deli Reirei for the first time and made a reservation. I chose the Kyoto ingredient ochoko donburi. They offer a variety of donburi dishes such as conger eel and egg, eel and rice, sea bream with tea, sweet shrimp and crab miso, tofu skin, Kyoto pork, Kyoto duck breast, and beef. It was great to be able to enjoy a little bit of each. The broth that comes with the dishes is also excellent. Highly recommended! #GionKankanDeliReirei #OchokoDonburi #KyotoIngredients #JapaneseFood #GionGourmet #GionLunch #KyotoGourmet #KyotoLunch #ShijoLunch #ShijoGourmet #lunch #delicious #yummy #kyoto #japanesefood #instagood #instalike #instapic #instafood #foodporn #foodstagram #foodie #foodphotography #foodpics #followme

"Kyoto-style Korean cuisine" Private room reservation possible restaurant Following the teaching of my mentor that even if you are a poor student, you should still dine out properly, I had Korean cuisine for the first time in my life in Gion! The conclusion is that it is a restaurant where you can enjoy elegant Korean cuisine and Kyoto-style hospitality. Even though I am a poor student and usually cut down on my food expenses, I felt it was worth going to this restaurant. The service was top-notch and excellent, probably due to the location in Gion. - Shilla Course Wagyu beef (forgot to take pictures of some dishes) - Appetizer: Korean royal cuisine: Gujeolpan It is rare to find a place where you can enjoy royal cuisine. All nine items are recreated using Kyoto vegetables - Carpaccio of sashimi - Samgyeopsal Pork belly and loin from Kyoto, as well as domestic Aigamo duck and Wagyu beef - Chijimi - Korean cold noodles - Matcha ice cream and vanilla ice cream + drink"

This is a Korean restaurant in Gion, and the most popular dish is the "Ochoko Don Lunch." You can enjoy a variety of small portions of 8 different donburi dishes, including beef shigure, Kyoto duck loin, Kyoto pork, Kyoto yuba, eel and egg, sweet shrimp and crab miso, conger eel, and sea bream tea pickles. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Renovated traditional machiya in Gion, Kyoto, creating a space where the two ancient cities of Korea's Gyeongju and Japan's Kyoto intersect. On the 1st and 2nd floors, there is a Korean restaurant called "Gion Kankan Delli Re" that uses Kyoto ingredients to serve dishes like samgyeopsal and seafood bulgogi made with fish from the Kyoto coast. On the 3rd floor, there is a popular casual dining spot called "Kanshin DELI Gion" that offers a Korean buffet. The lunch at "Gion Kankan Delli Re" is particularly noteworthy. The 8-type Ochoko Don set (2,728 yen) is making waves, featuring dishes like conger eel, eel and egg, sea bream ochazuke, sweet shrimp and crab miso, yuba, Kyoto-style pork, Kyoto duck breast, and beef shigure don. Each dish is served in a small bowl, allowing you to enjoy a variety of flavors. The presentation is also quite elegant and colorful.

Located in Gion Shirakawa, this restaurant offers a reasonable lunch set. With a traditional Japanese exterior and a luxurious interior, the atmosphere is just lovely. I ordered the "8 kinds of mini bowl set" for 2480 yen, which came beautifully presented on a red tray. Each mini bowl looked so delicious that it was almost a shame to eat them. The eel and egg bowl was tasty, the sweet shrimp and crab miso bowl was luxurious, the Kyoto-style pork bowl was rich and flavorful, the sea bream tea-soaked rice bowl was unique, the tofu skin bowl had sea urchin on top, the Kyoto duck breast bowl had a nice chewiness, the conger eel bowl was soft and chewy, and the beef bowl was addictively delicious. The Kyoto pickles were also tasty, and I recommend trying the pickles with rice if you have any left over. The portion size was generous, with each bowl containing about three rice bowls' worth of rice. Overall, a satisfying and delicious lunch experience that would be perfect for both tourists and locals looking for a special meal. Highly recommended!

This time, I went to Gion Kankan Deli Reit in Gion, Kyoto, where you can enjoy the trendy lunch. I tried the 8 kinds of beautifully decorated seafood bowls that are a fusion of Kyoto cuisine and elegance. Using carefully selected ingredients unique to Kyoto, you can compare and enjoy the colorful and elegant seafood bowls. The menu includes dishes like eel and egg bowl, sweet shrimp and crab miso bowl, and conger eel bowl, all of which are very satisfying. Personally, the "beef shigure bowl" was outstanding, with the sweetness and tender texture of the beef enhanced by the seasoning. It's highly recommended to add sansho pepper, wasabi, and soy sauce as toppings, or try pouring saury broth over it for a flavorful tea-soaked rice dish. You can enjoy tofu as chilled tofu or hot tofu. The drink served is a slightly sweet and fragrant corn tea, which is a nice touch. The first floor offers a lively counter seat, while the second floor has private rooms where adults can enjoy a quiet meal in a relaxing atmosphere. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant exude a sense of luxury and are impeccable. It's a truly wonderful place. I highly recommend Gion Kankan Deli Reit.

Using carefully selected ingredients unique to Kyoto, this restaurant offers 8 varieties of visually stunning seafood bowls: 1. Conger Eel and Egg Bowl 2. Eel and Tamago Bowl 3. Sea Bream Tea-Infused Bowl 4. Sweet Shrimp and Crab Miso Bowl 5. Yuba (tofu skin) Bowl 6. Kyoto Pork Bowl 7. Kyoto Duck Breast Bowl 8. Beef Shigure Bowl. Toppings like sansho pepper, wasabi, and soy sauce are available, and you can also enjoy a dashi tea pickling broth by pouring saury fish broth over your bowl. Each option is a delight to savor. Personally, I particularly enjoyed the fresh Sea Bream Tea-Infused Bowl and the flavorful Beef Shigure Bowl. You can enjoy the tofu as either cold tofu or in a hot tofu soup. Additionally, the slightly sweet and fragrant corn tea they serve is a nice touch. The first floor offers a lively counter seating experience, while the second floor has private rooms for groups of 2 to 8 people. [Ordered Menu] - Ochoko Bowl Lunch 2,728 yen

The lunch where you can enjoy a cute ochoko-don was delicious and very satisfying!! The set included 8 kinds of ochoko-don: conger eel, eel and egg, sea bream with green tea, sweet shrimp and crab miso, yuba (tofu skin) rice bowl, Kyoto pork, Kyoto duck breast, and beef and eel. Such a luxurious lineup with eel, conger eel, duck meat, and more... so extravagant! Additionally, it came with yudofu (hot tofu), Kyoto pickles, and sawara (Spanish mackerel) broth. The conger eel and sea bream tasted even better with the sawara broth poured over them. The sawara broth was so gentle and delicious, whether sipped on its own or paired with the dishes, it made me feel warm and cozy. The rice portion was about 30g per bowl, so even if you eat all 8 bowls, it's only about the size of one regular bowl of rice, making it suitable even for those who don't eat much rice. Although the restaurant is actually a Korean cuisine place, they focus on using Kyoto ingredients, creating delicious dishes that you can enjoy in small portions. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great, making me want to come back for dinner as well!

Located a 5-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line, this restaurant has a modern exterior inspired by the ancient Korean capital, nestled in the charming Gion area along the Shirakawa River. It is a new concept from the popular Korean cuisine restaurant "Kanshin DELI" centered around Kobe, offering court cuisine using ingredients from Kyoto. ▼ 8 Mini Donburi Set 2728 yen You can enjoy various types of seafood donburi in mini sizes. In addition to the mini donburi, the set includes cold tofu, Kyoto pickles, Sawara dashi, sansho pepper, wasabi, and soy sauce to enhance the flavors of the donburi. Each donburi has its own recommended way to enjoy it. - Conger Eel Donburi - Sea Bream Tea-Infused Donburi - Yuba Donburi - Kyoto Duck Breast Donburi - Eel and Egg Donburi - Sweet Shrimp and Crab Miso Donburi - Kyoto Pork Donburi - Beef Shigure Donburi The menu also includes instructions on how to best enjoy each donburi. Some donburi come with vinegared rice to complement the toppings. The vinegared rice is not too sour, so it pairs well with the Sawara dashi. Particularly impressive is the tender and flavorful Kyoto Pork, cooked slowly to perfection, offering a rich taste that spreads in your mouth with each bite. The Sawara dashi has a deep and smooth flavor with a strong umami kick. Whether poured over the donburi for ochazuke or enjoyed on its own, it is delicious. Despite the unexpectedly generous portion, the dishes were so tasty that we finished them in no time. Known for drawing long queues in Shibuya, Tokyo, the mini donburi is a new and elegant fusion of Kyoto cuisine that is sure to become a hit in the future.

A Korean restaurant along Shirakawa Street in Gion, known for their Samgyeopsal (pork belly) dishes. The staff's smiles were impressive. The private rooms for 2 people are a rare find in Gion and much appreciated. The individual Korean dishes on the menu were all delicious. The 9 Korean side dishes served as appetizers were perfect for enjoying with drinks, and the fact that all the dishes were made with Kyoto ingredients was fantastic. Although I didn't order the main dish of Samgyeopsal this time, I would like to try it next time. Thank you for the meal.

I enjoyed a luxurious lunch at a Korean royal court cuisine restaurant in the heart of beautiful Gion, Kyoto! The restaurant, Kan Kan De Ri, is designed to resemble the ancient city of Gyeongju in Korea and offers a fantastic atmosphere. I tried their new menu item, the 8-kind Ochoko Don Set. Each ochoko dish was made with local Kyoto ingredients and was absolutely delicious. The set included dishes like conger eel, eel and egg, sea bream with tea, sweet shrimp and crab miso, tofu skin, Kyoto pork, Kyoto duck, and beef with cold tofu. The flavors were amazing, especially when you add the Sawara fish broth to the conger eel and sea bream dishes. The ochoko rice bowls were just 30g each, so I couldn't help but finish them quickly. The restaurant's ambiance perfectly blended the vibes of Kyoto and Korea, creating a relaxing space to enjoy the meal. If you're a fan of Korean cuisine, this place is a must-visit in Kyoto!

I came to Gion Shijo! It seems that the popular "Ochoko Donburi" from Shibuya, Tokyo, which has been attracting long lines daily, has made its Kansai debut! It is a fusion of Kyoto cuisine, with a focus on Kyoto ingredients, and the various donburi dishes were incredibly delicious and impressive! The release date is today, June 24th! The restaurant I will introduce today is "Gion Kankan Deli Re". As you walk along the riverbank in the elegant streets of Kyoto, you will arrive at this restaurant with a traditional Japanese house atmosphere. The interior has counter seats and table seats, creating a stylish and relaxing space. Today, I tried the highly popular menu: "Ochoko Donburi Lunch" (8 types of Ochoko Donburi set) for ¥2480. The visual impact is amazing! The luxurious donburi with vibrant colors is a lunch set that will captivate you! The set includes 8 types of Ochoko Donburi, Yudofu (tofu hot pot), Sansho pepper, wasabi, soy sauce, Sawara fish broth, and Kyoto pickles. They provide tofu dishes that are easy to eat depending on the season, such as chilled tofu in summer and hot tofu in winter. It's a feast of Kyoto ingredients, including Kyoto duck, Kyoto vegetables, Kyoto pickles, and seafood caught in Kyoto's sea! When it comes to tasting, the menu includes instructions on how to eat, but it is delicious as it is, and you can also enjoy it as ochazuke by adding soy sauce, wasabi, and Sawara fish broth! The Conger Eel and Plum Donburi features thick and fluffy conger eel with a perfect match of plum flavor. It's delicious as it is, but turning it into ochazuke enhances the seafood and Japanese flavors even more! The Eel and Tamago Donburi features a generous cut of eel and thick grilled egg. The tender and flavorful eel pairs perfectly with the fluffy egg! The Sea Bream Ochazuke Donburi features fresh and plump sea bream with a rich umami flavor. It's fantastic as is, but turning it into ochazuke makes for a luxurious and exquisite meal! The Sweet Shrimp and Crab Miso Donburi offers sweet and flavorful sweet shrimp with rich crab miso. The luxurious umami flavor is beyond words! The Yuba (tofu skin) Donburi features fluffy yuba that spreads the aroma of tofu. It's a blissful experience to enjoy the exquisite yuba in a donburi! The Kyoto Pork Donburi features thick and satisfying Kyoto pork. The more you chew, the more the flavor spreads, making it incredibly delicious! The Kyoto Duck Roast Donburi offers a melting texture and a duck that releases flavor with every bite. The strong flavor of the duck meat makes it a donburi that you would want to savor with every bite! The Beef Shigure Donburi features the deliciousness of beef that perfectly matches the rice. The tender beef matches perfectly with the rice, creating a delightful experience! All the donburi dishes are truly luxurious! You can feel the flavor of the ingredients, and there are various ways to enjoy them, so you can have fun from start to finish! Also, you will be amazed by the visual appeal of the dishes! The visual impact is incredible, and the taste is superb! It's a lunch that is sure to become a trend! Please try it out!

I often use this place for lunch, but it was my first time here at night. They prepared a private room with a sunken hearth for us. I wanted to try the Nakkopse here. It's a super spicy hot pot with lots of octopus and hormone. The staff made it for us. The soup tasted like Sundubu, and the ingredients were luxurious. The spiciness was not as strong as I expected, but just right. For the finishing touch, we had ramen. The ramen had a pleasantly cheap and delicious taste. We also tried Kimbap and Japchae. Everything was richly seasoned, making us thirsty but it was delicious.

After enjoying a hot spring, I visited this Korean restaurant in Gion for two weeks in a row. Today's highlight was the Nine-section plate, which included plenty of cheese jeon, black wagyu bulgogi, japchae, bibim noodles, and hotteok. The dishes were made with locally sourced vegetables from Kyoto and were delicious! The authentic makgeolli (Korean rice wine) complemented the meal perfectly. Highly recommended! 🍲🥢

I visited for lunch on a regular day. The set menu with bread, main dish, rice dish, dessert, and tea for less than 2000 yen is very cost-effective. The Sundubu had a rich broth and was delicious, but the rice in the Kimbap was soggy, which was disappointing.

I made a reservation online and was guided to the second floor. I was happy to be seated at a spacious sunken kotatsu table, but no matter how many times I pressed the call button, the staff did not come. The button seemed meaningless. The food was delicious. The Korean side dishes were all luxurious. The spicy mixed noodles were not spicy at all, but rather sweet. It might have been a bit lacking. The location is good and I would like to use it again, but I hope they improve the call button system.
