I aimed to visit a restaurant far away by bicycle, only to find out that it was unexpectedly closed for the summer break! Feeling disappointed on my way back, I happened to pass by a shop that was just about to open. I decided to stop by for some salt and water replenishment, making it my first visit in 8 years. Since there were no photos from the early days of the shop, I ordered their basic menu item, "ramen," with char siu, bamboo shoots, and green onions. The visual and taste of the ramen reminded me of the old Kyoto-style ramen. Although the color is dark, it is similar in taste to "Ichiran" rather than "Shinfukunaeikan." The soup has a slight acidity and a light texture, paired well with the chewy medium-thick straight noodles, making it easy to slurp down. The char siu was small but tender, with a good pork flavor. They even provide a side dish of Japanese mustard, making you want to enjoy it with a beer. The crunchy texture of the bamboo shoots served as a nice break between bites, and I finished every last drop of the soup.

It's been a while since I visited Ichiraku. The taste seems to have dropped a bit... I had the soy sauce ramen with extra green onions. The owner doesn't usually recommend firm noodles, but they were willing to accommodate my request. Maybe because it was close to closing time, the soup had a slight bitterness to it. I'll visit again if I have the chance.

It was my first visit for a slightly late lunch. I ordered the Fried Rice Set (small fried rice + ramen) for 1,100 yen. The order was placed during a busy time, but the food was served in less than 10 minutes. The owner was handling everything alone, but surprisingly it was quick. Both the ramen and fried rice had a nice color. I was craving some salt, so the flavors were just right. The ramen had thinly sliced pork on top, giving it a fancy look, but I wish there was a bit more noodles in the portion. Since it came with fried rice, I left the restaurant feeling full. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant after 1:00 PM and parked my car in the large parking lot before entering the store. I sat at the counter seat, looked at the menu, and hesitated a bit on which ramen to order among the three choices: soy sauce, salt, and miso. Eventually, I decided to order the soy sauce flavored "Ramen" (850 yen). The bowl was filled with chashu, menma, and chopped green onions, and the soup appeared to have a rich soy sauce flavor. When I tried the soup, I could taste the strong umami and richness from the animal broth, with a good balance of acidity and saltiness giving it a sharpness, and it seemed to have a pork bone base. The noodles were thin straight noodles with a good bite, blending well with the soup, and even when mixed with the green onions, they were delicious. The chashu was thinly sliced pork chashu, generously used, and it was tasty both on its own and when soaked well in the soup. The parking lot was spacious, the store was relatively large, and the menu was extensive, making it a convenient place for large groups like families.

The appearance of Matsuiyamate doesn't seem like a chain store. I hesitated if it was open. There are 6 spacious counter seats and 3 tables for 6 people each. I had the ramen (soy sauce), which was described as light, and some gyoza. The ramen doesn't feel oily, so it may be considered light, but I personally found the flavor to be slightly strong. I want to try the salt ramen next time.

The dumplings are popular, so I ordered the dumpling set meal. There were several types of ramen to choose from, and I made a regrettable mistake here. I forgot to mention that I wanted salt ramen, but I ended up with the regular soy sauce ramen. However, it was unexpectedly delicious and exceeded my expectations. Thank you for the meal!

I've been curious every time I pass by for the past three years. I went for lunch. I ordered the ramen with soy sauce soup. The soup isn't too salty but has a rich flavor and is delicious. The chashu is a thin type, tender and melts in your mouth. It also comes with green onions and bamboo shoots, a classic and simple combination. It's very easy to eat and I finished it in no time. Next time, I want to try the gyoza which seems to be the specialty of the shop. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Matsuiyamate for lunch around 3 pm. It was a late lunch, in between lunch and dinner time. Many places had already finished their lunch service, but this restaurant was still open. The parking lot was spacious! The interior was a bit hard to see, so I had to muster up some courage to go in. I ordered the fried rice set with an additional order of dumplings. The prices were a bit on the high side. The food arrived quickly and it was delicious. The ramen was similar to the one at Daiichi Asahi. I would like to visit again when I'm in the area. Maybe I'll try the seaweed ramen next time. Thank you for the meal.

On a certain holiday, I visited SPA & HOTEL Mizuharu Matsuiyamate in Matsuiyamate! Well, it's basically a super public bath where you can enjoy lots of spas, saunas, and relaxation. But before that, let's have lunch! When you turn right from the Second Keihan Road onto the local road in Matsuiyamate, you'll find a spacious parking lot and a ramen restaurant called "Ichiraku-ya". We decided to sit at the counter and ordered the following:
- Fried rice set meal... 1,000 yen (tax included) x2
I chose the ramen from the menu and it had a black soup with plenty of Kujo green onions and thinly sliced pork. The soup was mild and had a deep umami flavor with a sharp soy sauce taste. It looked like Kyoto ramen, but why would there be Kyoto ramen here? Well, Matsuiyamate is in Kyoto Prefecture! I thought it was in Hirakata next to Nagao. My partner chose the salt flavor ramen with delicious-looking chicken char siu on top. It was so good that they finished it quickly. The fried rice was also delicious! "Ichiraku-ya" exceeded our expectations with their tasty ramen. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The appearance may be plain, but the food is delicious. I wanted to eat mixed noodles before the end of summer, so I came to this restaurant. However, it was sold out twice (;_;) Maybe it's just not meant to be. So, on that day, I decided to order the cold noodles recommended by the staff because it was hot. My son had kimchi fried rice and cold noodles. He really loves the kimchi fried rice here. The cold noodles arrived. The appearance... plain~ (laughs) But the aroma is really nice and appetizing. Let's dig in. Simply put, it's garlic, soy sauce. But not too strong. It's like a gentle garlic flavor (laughs). The saltiness and umami of the chashu are also delicious. The temperature is not cold or hot. But I guess this temperature brings out this flavor. They also gave me some ginger for flavor variation, but I was so into the noodles that I forgot to add it. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I came here for the first time in a year. This is a stylish celebrity city "Matsuiyamate" and it's definitely a popular restaurant. I ordered my usual "fried rice set" and yes, this collaboration is still delicious. The menu didn't seem to have changed much, so I didn't take any photos, but it looks like there was a slight price increase. I was completely caught off guard haha. I'll be back again sometime. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by for lunch at the restaurant near Mizuki Yamate, Suisyun, when I went there by car. The seaweed ramen had a very impactful appearance. The taste was like a light soy sauce ramen with Korean seaweed on top. It's located very close to Suisyun, so I think it's a great ramen shop to drop by casually.

I stopped by for a meal before heading to Mizuharu in Matsuiyamate. This is not a traditional ramen shop. The menu is quite extensive. Today's special is the Nori Ramen and Gyoza Set for ¥1,140. The Nori Ramen is topped generously with seaweed. It seems to be an original menu item, but it wasn't particularly unique. The homemade gyoza, crispy on the outside, was delicious and left a more lasting impression.

The taste is okay, like a regular strong soy sauce ramen, but one of the two people in our group was really unfriendly, which made the ramen taste bad. The staff got slightly angry just by our friend ordering from the menu. If they were friendlier, the place could be decent. What a shame!

When I asked for Kimchi ramen, they said they haven't started serving it yet. I remember now, Kimchi ramen was only available during the winter season. I think it's good to have such attention to detail. So, I ordered the Nori ramen instead. It had a unique appearance with lots of crumpled seaweed on top. The hot soy sauce soup with plenty of vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber from the seaweed was surprisingly delicious. The combination of seaweed and soy sauce created a harmonious taste. The thin slices of pork and noodles also complemented the dish well. I recommend it. The restaurant is located next to a pachinko parlor (although it's unrelated), so I think some people might stop by for a break.

I got off at Matsuiyamate a little after 1 o'clock and entered the restaurant. It's about a 5-minute walk from the station and has a spacious parking lot. There were about 3 customers. I ordered the Char Siu Ramen with extra green onions (free) and a half-fried rice set for 1,120 yen. After a short wait, the food arrived. It looked like Asahi-style ramen. There were no bean sprouts. Thinly sliced pork Char Siu around the edge of the bowl. Toppings included bamboo shoots, green onions, and straight thin noodles. The soup was the usual animal-based broth. The fried rice had a slightly dark color, and the diced pork was a bit scarce. I wish there were more toppings to make it more filling. There were also table seats, making it suitable for families. Thank you for the meal.

On Friday, I took the day off work to get vaccinated. After getting my first dose at a warehouse in Kyoto's Kyotanabe City, I decided to stop by a ramen restaurant called "Ichirakuya" near Matsuiyamate Station on my way back. It was almost noon when I arrived, and the restaurant had a spacious parking lot, making it convenient for those who drive. I entered the restaurant alone, sanitized my hands, and sat at the left end of the counter seats. I ordered the "Chashu Ramen for 850 yen," opting for a more standard ramen dish since it was my first time at the restaurant. The summer limited cold ramen menu also caught my eye, but I stuck with the classic choice. The staff members were friendly and provided great service. After a short wait, my ramen arrived. Suddenly, I decided to add the "Kimchi for 220 yen," which was highlighted as the manager's special. Perhaps it was the post-vaccination excitement that led me to make that spontaneous decision. First, I tried the soup of the ramen. It had a rich color but a mild soy sauce flavor with a light and savory taste, which might feel a bit lacking for those who prefer a saltier taste. Personally, I ended up adding more pepper for extra flavor. The medium-thin straight noodles had a gentle texture, giving off a nostalgic ramen vibe, although I wished they had a bit more presence. The thinly sliced chashu pork was tender and delicious when dipped in the soup. I ended up ordering rice to wrap the meat and enjoyed it that way. Lastly, I finished off the manager's special kimchi, and it was a satisfying meal. Matsuiyamate Station in Kyotanabe City was a new area for me, and it seems there are no other ramen shops nearby. Maybe I'll try some pancakes next time when I come back for my second vaccination.

I visited Ichiraku-ya near Matsuiyamate Station in Kyo-tanabe City. It had been two years since my last visit, and this time I tried their summer limited menu, "Wae Men." While enjoying the sizzling sound of someone else's fried rice being cooked, my dish arrived in about 10 minutes! The dish consisted of crispy diced char siu and flavorful kimchi on top of cold, thin noodles. The noodles had a strong texture, and the char siu was perfectly crispy, making it a delicious combination. Despite feeling a bit tired from being outdoors (which I'm not used to), the cold and spicy dish refreshed me. This was my 231st bowl of noodles this year.

I happened to come across a ramen shop on the street. I was drawn in by the generous amount of seaweed, so I decided to try it. Since it's in Kyoto, the ramen had a black soy sauce flavor with plenty of seaweed. When I ate it, the seaweed made a big impact and it was delicious. The soy sauce flavor was also good, nothing out of the ordinary but still tasty. I got too excited about the seaweed and it really lifted my spirits!

Today, I came here. Despite the rain, I arrived at 12:40. I realized that I hadn't been here for over 4 years when I checked the reviews (^∀^;) Oh no! Before I started using Tabelog, I used to come here quite frequently ( -∀-) I sat at the slightly dirty counter... It seems like it was crowded until just now, but luckily they all left at once (*^^*) So, I ordered the usual "fried rice set" with firm noodles (*^ω^)ノ It arrived after a while. As always, both dishes were served in slightly small bowls. The ramen, reminiscent of the long-established restaurant Shinpukusai-kan in Kyoto, has a rich soy sauce and pork broth base that blends with the medium-thin noodles, and its addictive taste is still as strong as ever ( ̄▽ ̄) It really hits the spot on an empty stomach ♡ The fatty and sweet chewy chashu is so delicious (^○^) Super tasty♪ The fried rice with chopped chashu, onions, and green onions also pairs perfectly with this soup ( 〃▽〃) So good after all this time! It's a bit disappointing that the pickled radish that should have been on the table was missing (ノ∀`) Rating: ↑ I'll be back again someday (^^ゞ Thank you for the meal.

For lunch today, I chose the shoyu ramen for 690 yen at this restaurant in Matsuiyamate. The ramen that came out had so much chashu on top that I thought it was chashu noodles, and there was plenty of green onions, typical of Kyoto. The soup had a dark soy sauce color, and I wonder if it was mixed with a sauce from simmering the chashu? It's not as salty as it looks. The noodles are straight, and there was a notice in the shop saying they are made not to stretch too much, so if it's your first time, it's recommended to order them normally cooked as ordering them firm might make them feel powdery. Indeed, there was still some firmness in the noodles. It was a bowl of ramen in the style of Kyoto's Daiichi Asahi, with a darker color. Thank you for the meal.
