Today, I visited the second construction site for a long-term project in Kyoto! (;^ω^) In addition to work, it's important to check out lunch spots as well! After the site survey, I decided to visit a highly rated restaurant on Tabelog called "Amanojaku Kyoto Tanabe Store" located between the site and the highway entrance. I arrived at 11:45 am, just before the peak time. There was no line outside, but the counter seats were almost full. Due to COVID-19, they were only using the counter seats for service. I ordered the "Tonkotsu Shio (Barikata) for 900 yen" and observed the interior while waiting. The staff also asked if I wanted gyoza, but I passed on it this time. The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes, and it was delicious! The mild hot tonkotsu soup had a nice salty kick, and the slightly charred chashu was tasty. The noodles were also well done for the barikata finish. I enjoyed it and even ordered a "Kaedama (Barikata) for 100 yen" right away. Overall, it was tasty, but I found the price of 900 yen for a Hakata ramen a bit high. Maybe it's the Kyoto price, haha! If I have the chance, I'll visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived around 1 o'clock and there was a wait for 4 people, but the service was good. The parking lot in front of the restaurant is a paid parking lot where you pay 100 yen for every 30 minutes, but if you get a discount ticket at the register when you pay, it's only 100 yen for parking. I had the salt pork bone chashu for 1200 yen and it was excellent!

After enjoying some drinks in the vicinity of Nambaekishinden Station, I felt like slurping down some shime noodles, so I decided to visit this place for the first time in a few years. In this area, when it comes to shime noodles, this place is pretty much the go-to spot. There's no real competition around here. I was expecting it to be crowded, but miraculously there were enough seats available for our group. They say that's because of our good deeds, but honestly, I'm not so sure about that. I sat down and looked at the menu on the wall. Prices had gone up since last time, with noodles now ranging from 900 to 1000 yen. It's the times we live in, I guess. I ordered the "Light Salt" noodles, which I think I haven't tried before. According to other reviewers, the Light Salt is the shop's recommendation. When it arrived, the Light Salt looked colorful with the yuzu peel and chrysanthemum greens. I took a sip of the soup, and the yuzu flavor really stood out. It was easy to drink. It was a bit on the salty side, but since it was the end of the night, I didn't mind and gulped it down. The thick chashu topping was so tender that it almost fell apart when I picked it up with my chopsticks. No need for teeth when you eat it. It was a pretty good chashu. Towards the end, I added some condiments from the table, but I can't remember what I put in there or how it tasted. It's a common thing to forget when you're at the end of a night of drinking. And that's how I enjoyed the Light Salt noodles. I don't know why. It was my first time visiting for shime noodles at night, and it felt like there were more customers than during the day. Maybe because there are no other noodle shops nearby, so everyone comes here. Oh, I wonder if there are people slurping down shime noodles at G's Omelette nearby. Next time, I'll try the tonkotsu series. Thanks for the meal.

During the period from 2002 to 2008, I used to go on a ramen-eating spree. One of the popular places was Amanojaku in Tomio, Nara, known for its long lines, but the downside was that it only operated at night. Later on, I found out that there was a branch with daytime hours in Kyoto Tanabe, and I used to visit it frequently. This time, I revisited the place after about 7 years. I went on a weekday around 1:30 pm, and the place was bustling with customers coming in one after another. There were counter seats and table seats, but the tables were not being used for dining, only as a waiting area. I'm not sure if this was to avoid making customers wait in the sun or to manage with just 2 staff members. I ordered the Tonkotsu Shio ramen for 900 yen, with an additional bowl of rice (with furikake) for 100 yen and an extra serving of noodles for 100 yen. The soup was creamy and smooth, with a light taste that would appeal to most people. I had a memory of it being quite salty, so I usually don't order rice with my ramen, but this time I did and it balanced out the saltiness. The char siu was tender and flavorful, easily falling apart when lifted, and seemed like a favorite among customers. Even though it had been a while since my last visit, the place was still packed with more customers coming in around 2 pm than leaving, with a line forming outside by 2 pm. Perhaps because it's a town with few ramen shops, or maybe it's just extremely popular in the area. When will be my next visit? Thank you for the meal!

Tonkotsu salt ramen with chashu: 1,200 yen Boiled egg topping: 100 yen Extra rice: 100 yen The chashu was surprisingly light and not too fatty, which made it delicious. The soup and noodles were also tasty and well-balanced. However, the soup had a strong salty aftertaste, making it a bit tough to finish. The staff were very energetic and friendly. Thank you for the meal.

At lunchtime on a regular day, I was told by the staff to wait at a table with shared seating. The restaurant was quite busy with only two staff members serving around 10 customers at the counter. They were asking about ordering gyoza first because it takes time to cook. I ordered the most popular tonkotsu shio ramen, tonkotsu shoyu ramen with chashu and boiled egg, along with rice sprinkled with furikake. The tonkotsu shoyu ramen arrived and it was delicious with its rich and creamy soup, tender chashu, and thin straight noodles. However, I couldn't finish the soup, maybe due to health concerns or just not being used to consuming such rich soup. My companion also found the soup too salty to finish.

I don't have a particular preference for ramen shops, but the ramen here is a favorite of my family. You can choose from four different bases: tonkotsu shio, tonkotsu shoyu, tonkotsu miso, and light tonkotsu. If you order chashu men, you can get 2 to 5 pieces of chashu. I like to get tonkotsu shio with extra noodles, while my wife prefers tonkotsu miso. The chashu is carefully grilled and served, and the soup has a creamy richness with a hint of seafood broth after the pork bone flavor. It's so delicious that the soup almost feels like a drink. Even though it takes 30 minutes to get here from home, we keep coming back. Thank you for the meal.

The popular restaurant usually has long lines, but this time, I was able to get in easily right after it opened. One staff member accidentally helped a customer who came in after me first, but another staff quickly stepped in to assist me. They also allowed me to order gyoza first since it takes longer to prepare, so I could enjoy it with my ramen. Although these were minor issues, the small gestures of consideration from the staff left a lasting impression. It's impressive how they manage to provide great service despite being a popular spot.

I was looking forward to trying the rumored delicious ramen shop. I couldn't decide between the pork bone salt and the light salt, so I asked the staff for their recommendation. They suggested the light salt, so I ordered that. Personally, I found the light salt to have too much fish broth flavor. My friend ordered the pork bone salt, which they enjoyed. Next time, I'll try that one.

It was a long-awaited lunch visit around 11:15. The restaurant had been closed for lunch until the end of May, so I was finally able to visit for lunch in June. The soup options were tonkotsu or light. Even though I always hesitate when entering, I always end up choosing tonkotsu once seated. I ordered the tonkotsu shio chashu barikata. The bowl was piping hot, so personally, I like how the straight medium-thin noodles change in texture as you eat them. I also ordered extra noodles, cooked firm. The highly recommended item at this restaurant is the seared chashu. The soup, with its rich pork bone base, pairs well with it. The staff at the restaurant also recommend the light salt or light soy sauce for first-time visitors. Thank you for the meal!

Visited for lunch while cycling with a companion. I was torn between the Tonkotsu Shio Chashu (1,200 yen) but opted for the light Shio Chashu (1,200 yen) since we were exercising. My companion loved it. It was delicious for me too, but I generally prefer rich flavors, so I thought I should have gone for the Tonkotsu next time.

I had the light salt and pork bone miso ramen - delicious! I chose the pork bone miso flavor. It has a rich taste but still feels refreshing enough to finish the whole bowl. It's really tasty. Inside, there are three refreshing older brothers who work efficiently and guide customers, which makes the experience even better. Every time I go to Nittanbashi, I always come here. I will visit again.

On my way home, I stopped by and ordered the pork bone miso ramen. It was creamy and very delicious. There were garlic and other condiments on the table, so you can enjoy changing the flavor. Despite being short on money, I couldn't resist ordering an extra serving of noodles.

I felt like having ramen, so I decided to go to "Amanojaku" where I had never been before. It is conveniently located near the station, and they have a parking lot which is helpful. The small restaurant had about 3 groups of customers at the counter. There are two table seats, but groups of two are always seated at the counter, even if there is a wait. When you enter the restaurant, the staff will ask if you want to order the time-consuming gyoza. I ordered tonkotsu shoyu ramen with a half-boiled seasoned egg. They didn't ask about noodle firmness, but they seemed willing to accommodate if you mention it. The piping hot ramen arrived fairly quickly. The aroma of sesame seeds was appetizing. The soup, although I expected it to be rich, was surprisingly light, and the slightly thin noodles were delicious. The seared chashu was especially delicious. It was tender. When you taste just the soup, there is a slight spiciness. The seasoned half-boiled egg was... just a regular half-boiled egg. The restaurant is small, so the turnover is fast, and you can't relax. It's recommended to decide on your order in advance. Almost everyone, including women, ordered extra noodles! The 100 yen extra noodles are a nice touch.

I arrived at the restaurant at 11:30 and was lucky to find an available seat. This place is popular among students, so it's recommended to come before 11:30 for lunch. I ordered my usual tonkotsu shio chashu barikata. The salty fish-based soup with a strong flavor is unique to this place. The chashu was tender and delicious. The noodles were medium-thin straight noodles, and some people like to add extra noodles because the portion is a bit small. I enjoyed my meal today as well. Thank you for the delicious food!

I arrived around 11:25 thinking there might be a wait, but luckily there were two seats available just in time. This place usually gets full by around 11:30, so arriving before then is a must. I ordered my usual tonkotsu shio chashu ramen. The kitchen staff energetically confirmed the order of the shio chashu ramen. The noodles were medium-thin straight noodles in a pork bone-based, bonito-heavy, Japanese-style soup. The highly recommended chashu was delicious, with a crispy and tender texture. When seated, they asked if I wanted to order gyoza, but I haven't tried it before so I can't comment on the taste. Overall, it was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal♪

I visited Amanojaku for the first time, which I had wanted to go to for a long time. I chose the Kyotanabe branch because the Nara branch was temporarily closed last time I tried to visit. I arrived around 11:15 and there were 3 other customers inside, so no waiting was needed. I sat at the counter and asked for a recommendation between tonkotsu shoyu and salt ramen, and was told that both were recommended. I decided on tonkotsu salt ramen with rice, and chose to have furikake sprinkled on the rice. The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. The soup had a creamy color, with grilled chashu, menma, bean sprouts, and chopped green onions on top. The soup was delicious, with a rich umami flavor that seemed to come from bonito flakes. The noodles were thin and cooked slightly firm, which paired well with the creamy soup. The chashu was perfectly grilled, tender, and flavorful. The menma and bean sprouts added a nice touch to the dish. I added some white sesame seeds and fried garlic from the table condiments, which enhanced the aroma. The rice was also tasty, and I wished I had ordered a large portion. I considered getting an extra serving of noodles, but decided against it. I finished all the soup. The tonkotsu salt ramen cost 900 yen, and the rice cost 100 yen. Thank you for the meal.

11:25 I entered the shop, where if I don't visit for a while, I start to feel withdrawal symptoms. My usual order is the tonkotsu shio ramen with chashu and extra firm noodles. The energetic chef in the kitchen always confirms my order with a loud "shio, chashu, extra firm!" which lets me know I've finally arrived. The noodles are thin and straight, the saltiness of the soup is strong and smooth, and the chashu is juicy and tender after being seared on a hot plate. The bowl is piping hot, just the way they like it. I usually order an extra serving of noodles since the portion is a bit small, opting for firmer noodles as the meal settles. They ask if you want furikake on your rice. The shop gets busy quickly after opening at 11:30, so it's best to arrive before then. Lunchtime is counter seating only, but families with small children can use the two closed-off tables. I'll have to come back soon before I start craving it again. Thank you as always.

Visited 'Amanojaku' on January 23, 2023 at 12:00. It was my first visit in a year. The restaurant was busy with only two staff members serving the 9-seat counter. I decided to try their specialty, the Tonkotsu ramen, with a topping of seasoned soft-boiled egg. The creamy soup was rich yet light in flavor, and the thin straight noodles paired perfectly with it. The chashu was tender with a nice charred flavor. I finished the noodles first and ordered an extra serving, which came with additional soup seasoning. Overall, it was a delicious and satisfying meal.

A slightly overdue visit. Arrived at 11:40 and had to wait a bit, but was seated within 5 minutes as there were 2 groups ahead. Ordered the usual tonkotsu shio ramen with extra firm noodles and extra firm chashu. The chashu was as delicious as always, and the salty broth had a nice kick to it. This was my last meal here for the year. Thank you for the feast.

I visited "Amanojaku Kyoto Tanabe Store" in Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto Tanabe City for lunch for the first time. It is located about a 3-minute walk from either Kintetsu "Shintanabe" Station or JR "Kyotanabe" Station. I visited around 12:00 p.m. on a weekday. The restaurant has about 10 counter seats and 2 tables for 4 people each. Since I was dining alone, I waited for about 5 minutes for a seat at the counter. I ordered a total of 1,000 yen, which includes: - Tonkotsu Shio (Salt) Ramen for 900 yen - Half-boiled Seasoned Egg for 100 yen. The ramen was served after a wait of about 5 minutes. The tonkotsu shio ramen had a salty tonkotsu broth with medium-thin wavy noodles. The toppings included 2 slices of seared chashu, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, and green onions, with an additional seasoned egg. I added some red pickled ginger, white sesame seeds, and fried garlic from the table condiments. The soup was quite salty. While the taste was not bad, it was just an ordinary ramen and nothing particularly delicious. Since there are no other ramen shops nearby, I stopped by, but it's not a place I would go out of my way to visit again.
