Lunch in Shinhama, Miyazu City. On the day of returning to Kyoto, I headed back to Miyazu for lunch. I went to a restaurant called "Tamura" that serves "Miyazu Curry Yakisoba". It's about a 15-minute walk from Miyazu Station. The restaurant is on the second floor of a building, with a counter, table seating, and a casual snack bar atmosphere. When I arrived, the owner, a lady, came out from the kitchen. I sat at the counter and she asked, "Curry Yakisoba, right?" I confirmed, and after about 5 minutes, the dish arrived. It had plenty of vegetables like bean sprouts, onions, carrots, and komatsuna, with a small amount of pork. The sauce was minimal, just as described on the restaurant's website, making it a "dry" style. The portion was on the smaller side, suitable for a second meal if you plan to visit another restaurant afterwards. The owner seemed to have a sharp intuition, disappearing back into the kitchen during meal times and reappearing when customers were about to finish eating. While it wasn't particularly outstanding, it was a decent local B-class gourmet experience. I hope they continue to do well with their "Miyazu Curry Yakisoba". (Visit date: not rated)
