☆ Lunch date with my wife! [Kyoto City, Kamigyo-ku]‼️⇒ We decided to visit "Ichi no Funeiri," a top-ranking restaurant in Kyoto known for serving authentic Chinese cuisine at very reasonable prices. Today, we stopped by to try it out. Unfortunately, since it's Saturday, they didn't have their daily lunch special. We parked at a nearby coin parking lot. Thank you in advance. $ Order! From the lunch set menu, we chose "Sweet and Sour Pork," "Assorted Dim Sum (Shumai, Shrimp Dumpling, Scallop)," "Steamed Rice," and "Egg Drop Soup," with unlimited refills of "Salad" and "Almond Jelly." The total was 1500 yen (tax included) and we rated it 4.0. ・"Sweet and Sour Pork"… 4.0 Delicious! I love the tangy flavor of this dish. The pork fillet is crispy and tasty. The sauce is so good that even the vegetables taste great. ・"Assorted Dim Sum" "Meat Shumai"… 4.0 It's not overly meaty, which is nice. "Shrimp Dumpling"… 4.0 Delicately flavored with shrimp. One piece is not enough. "Scallop Flower"… 4.0 So tasty! The scallop flavor is well conveyed. One piece is not enough. ・"Egg Drop Soup"… 4.0 This egg drop soup with lots of ingredients is surprisingly delicious! It's great that it comes with unlimited refills along with the steamed rice. (I ended up having seconds.) ・"Almond Jelly"… 3.5 A refreshing end to the meal with almond jelly. Perfect with tea. Conclusion: Overall, the set was well-rounded and satisfying. With unlimited refills of rice and soup, we left with full stomachs and great satisfaction! I do wish they could add five more varieties of dim sum for an extra 500 yen, but I'm not confident I could finish them all. I look forward to visiting again, this time with my wife.♪ Thank you for always liking, saving, and following the restaurant. I would be very happy to receive comments, questions, and feedback. Thank you all for your continued support.

This restaurant is always crowded even on weekdays, with long lines on weekends and sometimes items selling out. It was featured on a Kansai TV show and remains a popular topic of conversation. The lunch menu is decided during the wait, and the authentic Chinese food was delicious. The weekday limited lunch offers two options, both of which are excellent: I tried the steamed chicken with finely chopped green onions and soup soba. You can get unlimited white rice and salad.

I revisited the restaurant with my mother-in-law for lunch on the weekend. We ordered the set lunch for 1500 yen, which had three options. The sweet and sour pork was a classic and never disappoints. The shrimp chili had a slightly spicy taste with lots of eggs and sauce. The seafood stir-fry was light and refreshing with tender clams and squid. We thought about ordering additional dim sum, but considering the portion size of the lunch, we decided against it, which turned out to be the right choice. The hostess was attentive and considerate, and there were many well-mannered customers, including regulars, which made the dining experience enjoyable. It seems that reservations are becoming necessary on weekends for this popular restaurant.

I had the Select Lunch (Shrimp and Egg in Chili Sauce). Initially, I wanted to have Mapo Tofu but they didn't have it, so I looked around at other tables and decided on the Shrimp and Egg in Chili Sauce. It was a great choice! The shrimp was firm and the chili sauce was very tasty, making the rice go down easily. The dim sum was also delicious. I recommend this restaurant!

I wanted to try the warabi mochi from Kameya Hirosue, so I decided to have lunch nearby. I remembered seeing a TV show where they mentioned that the owner of Zitenghua, a Cantonese restaurant, was a disciple of a famous chef. It took me 30 minutes to walk from Hankyu Omiya to the restaurant, which was a bit off the beaten path. I arrived around 1:15 and was seated immediately, but it quickly filled up. Despite its location, the restaurant seemed quite popular. They didn't offer a weekly lunch special, so I opted for the Zitenghua Select Lunch for ¥1500. I ordered mapo tofu and sweet and sour pork as my main dishes. The mapo tofu arrived first, and it had a subtle but distinct flavor of Chinese Sichuan peppercorns. It was delicious and the portion was generous. The dim sum included shrimp, meat, and a minced meat variety. The soup was also tasty. The almond jelly dessert had a unique flavor that I enjoyed. The sweet and sour pork was also plentiful. I had tried the sweet and sour pork at Wei Fan, the chef's mentor, before, but I personally found this one more delicious. The best part was that you could have unlimited rice and soup refills. I loved it! The initial serving of rice was quite small, so I definitely went for seconds. Considering the quality and quantity of food, the ¥1500 lunch was a steal. If the location were more convenient, I would definitely visit more often, but I guess it would become crowded and more expensive. I had bookmarked this place a while ago, but the distance from the Hankyu station made it inconvenient. I will definitely be back! Next time, I want to try the shrimp chili and the oil-splashed chicken! Visit my food blog "Kyoto Lunch and Delicious Food" at https://kyotolunch.com/

On my way to the place where I dispose of recyclables, I always pass by a place that seems to have a long line during lunchtime. I thought it might be a cafe with green plants on a wide wall. When I asked my friend who lives nearby, they said it's a Chinese restaurant. So, I went to have lunch there with my friend and their spouse. I ordered the lunch set which included purple wisteria flower set for 1200 yen. You can choose from various main dishes, such as stir-fried squid and small bamboo shoots with XO sauce, 3 kinds of dim sum, salad, soup, rice, and almond jelly. You can also have seconds of rice and soup, but you will definitely be full. The stir-fried squid and small bamboo shoots dish had a variety of vegetables like lotus root, mushrooms, baby corn, snow peas, garlic sprouts, and bell peppers. It was a proper dish with a generous amount of vegetables. The soup was delicious, the salad was okay, and the dim sum was served hot in a steamer. The presentation was nice and the almond jelly was smooth and refreshing. It was a very satisfying lunch at a great restaurant.

Arrived before 12 noon on a regular day. There were about 2 groups of solo diners and 1 group of two diners, so we were seated at a spacious table for 6. Shortly after, a group of 3 office workers and another couple arrived, almost filling up the restaurant. However, solo diners were leaving continuously, so the turnover was good. The service was provided by a female staff member who was efficient and cheerful. My companion ordered the spicy chicken dish, while I ordered a mixed noodle dish, both as sets for around 1200 yen. Rice was free for seconds. The set also included dim sum, salad, and dessert (almond jelly), making it a great value for the price. My companion's dish didn't include soup, so they also got a bowl of soup. Plates were already provided on the table, so there was no need to ask for them, showing great attention to detail. I also used the restroom, which was spacious and clean, with about 3 colorful fish tanks in the area, creating a cozy atmosphere. They only accepted cash for lunch, which was a bit inconvenient, but overall, the food, service, and ambiance were wonderful, and I would definitely love to visit again.

I visited this popular restaurant in Kyoto for lunch after watching on YouTube. It's recommended to make a reservation in advance. I had the sweet and sour pork set, which came with soup, dim sum, and dessert. I was so full! The balance of sweet and sour in the pork was just right. When I left, there were people waiting outside the restaurant! I'm glad I made a reservation after all.

I went to this restaurant with my partner for a special dinner. We made a reservation and chose the 5500 yen course. The restaurant has a spacious and relaxing atmosphere with concrete-like ceilings. We shared a Jasmine tea pot for 600 yen, which was served with hot water so we could enjoy the tea leaves fully. The 5500 yen course included a variety of delicious dishes such as appetizers, shark fin soup, fried crab claws, steamed fish, beef crepe wraps, scallops with mayonnaise, shrimp with chili sauce, mixed fried rice, and mango sherbet for dessert. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted amazing, especially the beef crepe wraps. We had a wonderful and enjoyable dining experience and will definitely be coming back.

I passed by a shop on Saturdays where people were lining up, which caught my interest. I visited around 13:00 and the shop was already empty inside! There were families with children, giving it a cozy atmosphere. I had the Ebiko and Egg in Chili Sauce set for ¥1200, while my husband had the Oil-Blanched Chicken. You can choose from 5 main dishes. Although it seemed like it would take a while, the food came out relatively quickly! The cost performance was good, and the food was delicious. I would like to try a different menu next time. The most impressive part was the soup, which was very tasty.

I arrived before the 11:30 am opening time and was already waiting. A friend had made a reservation for me, so I was able to enter smoothly. Reservations are a must. For lunch, you choose a main dish from four options, and I chose the shrimp chili. The shrimp was plump and the dish was deliciously spicy. There were also three types of dim sum with gentle flavors, making it a popular restaurant. When we finished eating, the staff mentioned that there were people waiting in line, so it's not a place where you can linger, but the food was very delicious. I would like to make a reservation and visit again.

This is a rare gem of a restaurant owned by a chef who trained at top establishments like Kyoto Brighton Hotel and Ichinosen. They offer hotel-style Chinese cuisine for just 1100 yen. The restaurant opens at 11:30, so there might be a wait, but if you go at 13:30, you can get in smoothly. I tried the mixed soup noodles for lunch this time. The gentle flavors typical of hotel Chinese cuisine were comforting and safe for both elderly and children. Search YouTube for "Kyoto Megane Taxi."

Since its opening, the Cantonese restaurant "Shitenge" near the Kyoto Prefectural Police has always been packed with customers. The authentic Chinese cuisine, created by a chef from a certain hotel, is highly popular. On this day, I arrived late and the popular dish, oil-splashed chicken, was already sold out! Despite being priced at 1,100 yen, the portion size and deliciousness make it very cost-effective. Although it wasn't yet time for last orders, the restaurant was closing early. It might be better to make a reservation for an earlier time!

I like Chinese food. You can enjoy elegant Chinese cuisine at this restaurant. It's located near the Imperial Palace, a little walk from the station. It seems like a recently opened restaurant with a cute and not too flashy exterior. The interior is more spacious than I imagined from the outside. There are a few table seats, and each one feels roomy. The restroom is also spacious, making it a comfortable place to dine. I had the shrimp chili set meal, which cost 1100 yen. The shrimp was plump and delicious. The dim sum that came with it was very cute, and my excitement rose when I opened the steamer. You can have free refills of rice and soup. The lunch may not be cheap, but I think it's definitely worth the price. Please note that they only accept cash for lunch payment. Thank you for the meal.

Visited a restaurant that used to charge 900 yen excluding tax, but the price was changed to 1100 yen after April. I felt like it was a bit more expensive, but after eating, I was satisfied with the pricing. Today, I ordered the Sichuan-style noodles set and sweet and sour pork set. The meat miso on the Sichuan-style noodles was incredibly delicious, so I ended up getting a rice refill with it. You can also get a refill of the soup and the soup was gentle in flavor. The dim sum was also soft and gentle in taste. Even though it's Chinese food, it's light on oil and all the seasoning is just right. The sweet and sour pork had a good balance of sauce, with the pork having a solid meaty texture, providing a satisfying meal. The almond jelly dessert was small but incredibly delicious. This is a restaurant that makes you want to try other menu items as well.

Today's lunch was at "Cantonese Cuisine Zitenghua" located at the intersection of Oiled Alley and Shimonagacho. It's a Chinese restaurant with a brand-new wooden sign hanging outside. It used to be "Les Freres Mutou" before. The interior has no trace of the previous restaurant and gives off a high-end Chinese restaurant vibe. The lunch menu changes weekly and there are set options at the same price. You can have unlimited rice and soup, which is generous. Normally, I would go for shrimp chili or my favorite oil-drizzled chicken, but for some reason, I chose the "Pork Tenderloin Subuta Set" for 1,100 yen. The table condiments are authentic Chinese style. A luxurious set meal arrives promptly. Opening the steamer reveals dim sum, making it even more luxurious. The salad is small. The soup is egg and ham. The ham has depth and feels luxurious. The dim sum is authentic. The dumpling skin is chewy and filled with plenty of chives. The generous subuta is tangy. Finally, we finish with almond jelly. It was a restaurant where you can enjoy high-end Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price.

Second visit. This time I ordered the oil-drizzled chicken set meal. The crispy fried chicken is delicious! And the green onion sauce has a good flavor! It stays crispy even after some time and with sauce on it! The dim sum is consistently tasty...♪ It's quite filling but I finished it all in no time (sweat). I want to try the evening menu too, so I will come back! Just one thing... the entrance door is extremely heavy... quite tough for someone with weak arms.

Ordered the Chinese lunch set! I got the hot and sour soup noodles set. It was after 2 PM so I didn't have to wait in line to get in. The hot and sour soup noodles were delicious, with a nice tangy and spicy flavor! I personally like things more sour, but I think this is pretty standard. The main noodles were tasty, but the best part was the dim sum that came with it - so delicious and I was happy it stayed warm in the steamer! I will definitely be coming back to this place!

I visited the restaurant after seeing it in the information magazine "leaf", right at the opening at 11:30 am, but it was already full within 33 minutes. They had a waiting list available. I ordered the shrimp and egg in chili sauce as recommended. It was a generous portion, and the soup was so hot that it could burn your mouth. Rice and soup were refillable. The lunch was around 1000 yen, and in my opinion, it was the best Chinese lunch option. There is a parking lot nearby, which cost 200 yen.

A kind follower recommended this restaurant to me via DM, so I went to try it out. Despite avoiding peak hours and trying to keep my distance, about 80% of the seats were filled. It's quite a popular place. The chef is said to have worked at a nearby hotel, but the menu is surprisingly reasonable. I ordered the pork loin sweet and sour pork from the lunch menu. It came with a main dish, salad, soup, dim sum, rice, and dessert, so it was quite a generous portion. The sweet and sour pork had plenty of meat, crispy vegetables, and mushrooms. The vegetables were beautifully cut and the seasoning was just right - not too sweet or sour. The dim sum was flavorful on its own. The free rice and soup were a nice touch, and all of this for under 1000 yen is very much appreciated. They also serve lunch on weekends and are close to the government district, so it's no wonder it's so popular. The seating is spacious, with disinfectant spray and acrylic dividers at the counter. It mainly caters to locals, so I felt safe dining there. I'd definitely like to visit for dinner as well.
