I think this restaurant in Kyoto has top-class seafood selection and freshness. You can enjoy seasonal fish, shellfish, and rare delicacies. They seem to focus more on sake than wine, with a wide variety of options available. The grilled shellfish menu is cooked in the kitchen rather than at the table.

When I return to Kyoto, I often visit this restaurant. You can enjoy various seasonal fish dishes that are delicious. They also have a wide variety of sake, including some that sake lovers will adore. The prices are not cheap, but I think they are reasonable. This time, I didn't eat much, but with drinks for two people, it cost around ¥10,000. They also offer a great all-you-can-drink option, so I might try that next time.

During our trip to Kyoto, my wife, kids, and I stopped by this restaurant. We made a last-minute phone reservation and they kindly accepted. I wanted to try different types of sake, so I ordered a tasting set, while my wife got a glass of white wine. For food, we had salted hoya, grilled hokke fish, dashimaki tamago, a special sashimi platter, fish skin with ponzu sauce, and other small dishes. Everything was delicious and paired well with the sake. The combination of Japanese sake and fish was fantastic. It was a great restaurant that suited my preferences. They accommodated our last-minute reservation and even provided kid-friendly tableware. The only downside was the steep staircase leading up to the restaurant. It's hard to get drunk with those stairs, haha.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building. I had made a reservation to eat blowfish. On this day, the meal and all-you-can-drink were ¥10,000. Everyone gathered and toasted with creamy draft beer to start. The dishes included blowfish liver salad, blowfish milt tofu, blowfish sashimi, and assorted blowfish parts. It would have been nice if blowfish fin sake was included in the all-you-can-drink. There were some people who couldn't drink alcohol this day, so it couldn't be helped. The grilled blowfish here is light and seasoned with ginger soy sauce. The dishes were served one by one, so it was nice to be able to eat at my own pace. Be careful of the bones in the tempura, but the menu was so light up to this point, which was nice. The meal ended with a hot pot and porridge, and I was full. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I returned to Kyoto for the first time in a while and my friend who works near the shop introduced me to it. When I entered the shop on the second floor, it had a clean and Kyoto-like atmosphere that made me want to introduce it to other acquaintances. The food included a sashimi assortment and other fresh fish dishes that perfectly matched the concept of the shop, and they were very delicious. Before I knew it, even though I entered at 5:00 PM, it was past 11:00 PM, so I ordered a dish to finish. I was able to stay for a long time enjoying the wonderful flavors. I definitely want to visit this place again when I return to my hometown!

I love seafood, so this is a restaurant I often visit. Not only is the sashimi delicious, but you can also enjoy seasonal ingredients. There is a wide variety of a la carte menu items to choose from. They also have rare fish available. I always sit at the counter, but they also have table seating. I enjoyed trying a variety of dishes and the total cost was around ¥8000.

An overwhelmingly delicious seafood restaurant!! Visited with 4 people after work. Personally, it was my first time at this restaurant. The interior is very elegant, with a calming Japanese atmosphere. There are many handwritten menus, showing their commitment to taste. There is a large tank in front of the restaurant, and they will prepare the fish fresh from the tank for your order. When asking the staff for recommendations, they respond quickly, showing their confidence in their flavors. Whether it's grilled fish or sashimi, every dish is satisfying. The prices are a bit high, but the quality is worth it. I left feeling very satisfied.

Today, I went to a izakaya called "Kaishunjo Ichi" in Yanaginobaba Rokkaku. It seems like a Japanese-style izakaya where you can taste fresh seafood sourced from the Chuo Market that day. I sat at the counter and had a tasting set of three different types of sake recommended by the staff: - Kokuryu "Ittcho-rai Ginjo" (Fukui) - Yukitsubaki "Junmai Ginjo" (Niigata) - Tateyama Ginjo (Toyama) They even provided nameplates for each sake, which is helpful for beginners. For food, I had a tasting set of three dishes to pair with the sake: - Hotaruika with squid ink - Tai (sea bream) shirako (milt) with grated ponzu - Tokobushi (a type of shellfish) simmered in sauce Additionally, I ordered more sake and food. I enjoyed the taste of Kikuzakura Kurojishi Karakuchi sake. The tempura "Tenshi no Ebi" (angel prawn) from New Caledonia was delicious, and you can even eat the head, which is full of umami. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with delicious food and sake. I would definitely like to visit this place again.

The seafood menu is abundant here, with options like sashimi, grilled shellfish, sliced raw fish, hot pot, and more. The photo shows a salmon roe bowl. I believe that the best way to enjoy seafood is to have it from its place of origin, and the quality here is above average. However, it was a bit pricey. It's not in the S-class or A-class, but it is considered top-notch. I wish the shellfish were a bit tastier.

I had been overlooking this place even though it's close by because it's on the second floor of a building. They serve fresh seafood and the chef is skilled. The spacious interior with well-spaced tables allows for a comfortable dining experience. Smokers will be pleased to know that it's a smoking-friendly restaurant. The complimentary chawanmushi was delicious with plenty of ingredients. From sashimi to grilled shellfish, the dishes are satisfying and filling. Even though I'm not a big drinker, I ended up drinking too much. If you want to eat seafood in Kyoto's Rokkaku street, this is the place to go.

Recommended seafood izakaya with a high level of sophistication where middle-aged people gather. They offer a variety of fresh seafood from various regions according to the season, and the highlight is the seafood carpaccio. Reasonable prices.

One-san is a popular restaurant among employees after meetings. They really focus on serving high-quality fish. As soon as you enter, you'll see a tank where you can choose your fish, and they will cook it for you in your preferred style like simmered, grilled, or sashimi. You can't go wrong with anything you order here! Definitely worth a visit! ^_^

I thought the store looked expensive, but it was more lively than I expected, with various types of fish to enjoy snacking on. Next time, I want to come alone and eat a lot of fish. I tried eating softshell turtle for the first time. It was so delicious that I couldn't understand it well. The impression was that the chopped face was difficult to eat. The soup was delicious with soy sauce, but a little too thick. Anyway, I'm grateful. The rice porridge at the end was also very much appreciated. It was a very grateful restaurant.

In Kyoto, I recently went to my favorite seafood restaurant, Issen. The top dishes included colorful ikura don, dancing botan shrimp, junsa, sazae sashimi, clam robata, striped jack sashimi, conger eel sashimi, dashimaki, and mehikari tempura. The prices at this restaurant are a bit high, but they serve fresh fish. They also have a wide selection of Japanese sake and stay open late, which is great. Fish is truly the heart of the Japanese people. Thank you for the delicious meal. In Kyoto, at Issen in Yanaginobanba Rokkaku, a gourmet friend recommended this place for delicious fish and sake. The entrance is adorned with numerous empty bottles of famous sake. The photo shows mehikari tempura, which was delicious. The light white meat with a perfect umami flavor is a dish that could become addictive. It pairs well with a robust Japanese sake. This restaurant offers a variety of seafood dishes that will make you want to come back again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This is a recommended restaurant in Rokkaku Street that offers local sake and seafood. I visited for the first time based on a friend's recommendation, and the interior was stylish with a calm atmosphere, mainly featuring table seats. The dishes are made with fresh seafood that was purchased on the day and cooked according to your preference. I recommend the assorted sashimi of shellfish, which allows you to enjoy various textures. There is a wide variety of shochu and sake, which pairs excellently with the fresh seafood. Considering the quality, I think the prices are reasonable, so I recommend this place.

Since it's a restaurant that you have to climb stairs to get to, it might be tough for those with bad knees. The entrance door is a bit unusual, so if you're not sure which part to open, just ask someone inside! There's a big fancy fish tank right at the entrance, which kids would love. I used to love it when I was a kid. I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from a customer at a fantastic place called "Shimeya" where I also wrote a review. The menu was interesting and made me curious. The "kumoko" appetizer and the "teppi" dish we ordered were impressive. The neatly cut sashimi pieces showed off their skills. The place is spacious and new, so it feels clean. I'm not sure if it gets crowded late at night. The head chef, the part-timers, and the female staff were all wonderful. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is not too far from the workplace, so I have visited a few times. It falls under the category of an izakaya, but it also has a bit of a traditional Japanese restaurant feel. It is a hidden gem that I recommend when you have a bit of a budget to spare. A tip is to ask for dishes priced around 6000-7000 yen, and they will serve you special items not listed on the menu. The sashimi is incredibly fresh, and if you ask the owner, they will even prepare dishes not on the menu. The taste is beyond your average izakaya, and I believe you won't find better fish even at a fancy restaurant. The fatty yellowtail with grated radish is a must-try, and the slightly sticky texture of the savor sashimi is delightful. The white clam is crunchy and delicious. I was surprised to see that the fish in the refrigerator at the counter is individually wrapped in plastic wrap to seal in freshness. I had a unique long white clam that was incredibly tasty, with a strong sweetness and crisp texture. The oysters were also very delicious. The sushi is top-notch, with rare items like bluefin tuna. The final ochazuke (rice soup) was also excellent, with a perfect balance of flavors. The seaweed added a nice aroma. Overall, the restaurant offers a great dining experience with carefully crafted dishes and a good selection of sake. The cost performance is decent, considering the high-quality ingredients used. I was personally very satisfied with the experience.
