I visited Saka-san for lunch, a place that always caught my eye whenever I drove by. I had always noticed the daily menu board at the traffic light, so I had been wanting to try it out. As I entered, I saw another entrance to the left where you take off your shoes and go upstairs. The interior had both tatami seating and a counter. I was torn between two lunch options but ended up choosing the bonito tataki set. When the dish arrived, I was surprised by the presentation with a variety of colorful side dishes and a generous portion of bonito tataki. Everything was delicious and well-seasoned, even the miso soup. The rice comes in a large serving for free, but I was amazed by the portion size when I saw the person next to me eating it. If you want a hearty meal, go for the large serving.

I went for lunch on a regular day. The place is facing Kujo Street. At first glance, it's easy to miss because it doesn't look like a typical restaurant. There was a menu at the entrance, so I realized it was a food establishment and went in. However, once inside, there was another door to the left leading to the actual restaurant. You take off your shoes and go upstairs. There is a counter and a tatami area with a cozy atmosphere. The menu seems to change daily. You can choose from the recommended dishes of the day. Plus, it comes with an additional recommended menu item. The rice portion is the same price. In addition to the main dish, you also get a salad, six side dishes, soup, and rice. The food is very delicious, and the portion of the side dishes is generous, making it a satisfying set meal.

Service: [4] The cheerful and funny mama! Location: [2] It's a bit of a walk from Nishioji Station! Hello! Macha's recommended meal here! This is a blog that introduces gourmet spots in Osaka and Kyoto! I want to introduce delicious and fun places to everyone! Today's spot is the super homely izakaya "Kitchen SAKA" near Nishioji Karahashi. It's about a 10-minute walk from Nishioji Station, an area I frequent for drinks once a month. There are many nice homely places around here, and I love this area. Today's spot is also very homely! The izakaya "Kitchen SAKA" is like having a party at someone's house! The first floor of a house has been renovated into a restaurant, and it really feels like you're visiting someone's home! There are tatami and counter seats. Regulars line up at the counter chatting happily. The mama is a really nice person and you can feel that she is loved by everyone. The dishes are truly homely. And they are all so cheap!! If I lived alone around here, I would definitely come here often after work! By the way, there are also hearty set meals available! The recommended dish of the day is the tuna sashimi! It's fatty tuna, but the price is affordable because it's sashimi! Goes well with beer! Dashimaki Tamago (Japanese rolled omelette) is 400 yen. It's not the jiggly type you find at izakayas, but it has a simple and gentle taste. Grilled sausages for 400 yen. Just grilled sausages, but simple is best. It's best to eat it with ketchup! Beef simmered with soy sauce for 350 yen. The simmered beef is well-flavored and deliciously sweet and savory! And all this for 350 yen! Amazing. Koya tofu for 250 yen. This is also well-flavored. I thought it was just koya tofu, but it's full of ingredients! Shrimp, burdock, shiitake mushrooms! All this for 250 yen is incredible! They even gave us castella cake! The staff gave us castella cake as a service, maybe they went on a trip somewhere. This is something you can only experience at a homely place! It's really cozy here! Here are the menus! Food menu! Drink menu! Daily recommended menu! It was a nice place where you can relax and feel at home. Today, I went to work at Kujo Shichihonmatsu. I had planned to have ramen for lunch, but the ramen shop I found was closed. So, I decided to try a place called "Kitchen SAKA" across from Lawson. It was a normal-looking house with a sign outside. Inside, it felt like entering someone's living room with tables and cushions instead of chairs. I ordered the pork loin miso sauté lunch set with 3 side dishes. The food was visually appealing and tasted great. The side dishes were like traditional Japanese home-cooked dishes, and the pork sauté had a delicious miso flavor. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Located on the southeast corner of Kujo Nanahonmatsu Street, there is a dining room with a beige wall and a general residential-style building with a tiled roof. A cheerful sign with illustrations is displayed above the 2nd-floor window. Inside the restaurant, customers take off their shoes at the entrance before going upstairs. The bright interior features white-painted wooden walls. For lunch, there are several daily specials available, with prices varying based on the number of side dishes included. I ordered the Saury Saikyo-zuke grilled set meal with three side dishes. The meal included saury, salad, spaghetti, dried tofu, dried radish, and hijiki, with five side dishes in total. The saury was moist and full of miso flavor, making it irresistible with the rice. The dried radish side dish had sesame oil, giving it a unique taste. The salad dressing was also delicious. I forgot to ask if it was homemade.
