The variety of alcohol is abundant, the atmosphere underground is nice, and it might be great to be taken on a date here. I want to come back after reading a novel set in this place. It would be nice to explore and open such a wonderful bar. It must have been fun studying in Kyoto.

Cross the Kamo River and head to Sanjo Kawaramachi. "Nostalgia" is a bar that is said to have served as a model for a bar in a novel. The nostalgic interior reminiscent of a European bar is distinctive. The calm lighting and the conversations of adults. There is a certain sensuality in the sound of glasses. However, it is not too formal and is casual. This makes it popular with a low threshold. There are counter seats and table seats. There are quite a few table seats. Order a bottle of Merlot wine. Also, order a Margherita for 950 yen. The taste of the pizza is not bad for the price. The wine is Santa Digna Merlot, a reasonable medium-bodied wine. It has a vanilla-like aroma and a dry taste. Merlot comes in so many varieties. Finally, order a Johnny's highball. It is a blended whiskey with a slightly lingering barrel aroma. When you drink it as a highball, the fragrance comes from the fizz that bursts first. Ah, I feel like I'm going to be a drinker again today.

There are counter seats, and the glasses and dishes are lovely, making it a very atmospheric bar! The course came with free drinks, and there were many types of whisky and cocktails, it seemed like they could even make custom drinks for you! They changed the glass for each drink, and the presentation was very meticulous. Perfect for those who enjoy drinking!! The staff were all polite and provided excellent service, making it a very enjoyable time!

The restaurant that served as the model for "Shuchouso" in the novel "Uchouten Kazoku" is located underground, so you have to go down the stairs to get there. It opens at 5:00 PM and serves meals as well. I had the Nostalgia Omurice and beer. The Omurice had a rich sauce and was delicious. There were also many cocktail options available.

The prices are a bit high, but the atmosphere inside the restaurant is really nice, and the food and cocktails are all delicious! It's a bar, but you can relax at a table, which is great. The entrance is a bit hard to find, but I recommend mustering up the courage to give this bar a try - it's the number one choice!

Nostalgia for about 10 years, I went to a stylish bar called "Gin Tonic Fake Electric Brand Shuso Glass Yakushibou Tsuki no Cocktail" as my first stop. I planned to have about 2 drinks, but ended up drinking a bit too much because the conversation was so enjoyable. I had a great time discussing manga with a bartender of the same generation, following the conversation I had with Hemingway the other day. It turns out that the model shop for Shuso Glass in "Utakata Kazoku" is also located in this bar, so it was quite fitting. The entrance to the bar is down the stairs from Kawaramachi Street, and it is a trendy place with a well-organized menu. They offer traditional whiskies and cocktails, as well as image cocktails of the Shinsengumi and cocktails of the month. It's like the standard bar that you often hear about in reviews. There was a bottle with Lemon Hart drawn on it at the counter, which I inquired about and found out it was from last year. They seem to have various liquor-related events. I offered a toast with a Gin Tonic. I also ordered from the Shuso Glass menu board. The Gin Tonic came in a slightly smaller glass than the usual long glass, and it had a bit of bitterness from the gin and botanicals. I was hoping for the same quality in the other drinks, but they didn't suit my taste. This is what Fake Electric Brand tastes like. I don't remember the taste of Electric Brand itself, so I'm not sure if it's similar. I only had a sip of the Red Hot Chili Pepper, as it didn't suit my palate at all. It was fun to see the vodka being set on fire, but the glass became hot and difficult to drink. It also had a unique taste with a bit of sweetness and a spicy kick from the chili pepper. It was quite confusing. Maybe I'll have whisky and food next time.

I visited with my boyfriend who loves Tomihiko Morimi after a few years. The space is always wonderful no matter when you go. We asked for the course meal for the first time, but I never expected it to be so delicious... The service and drinks were, of course, excellent! As my boyfriend was taking photos of Morimi-sensei's autographs and shields, the staff kindly showed us various other items as well. I would love to visit again when I go to Kyoto.

This shop is located along Shijo Street, in the basement of a building. When you open the door, several bartenders will greet you. The antique lighting and decorations give the place a cool, sophisticated vibe. They have a wide variety of drinks, including many original cocktails. You can also enjoy a proper meal, with several course options available.

I was thinking about what to eat for dinner while walking from Marutamachi, and before I knew it, I had reached Kawaramachi Sanjo. Many shops were closed due to the impact of the new coronavirus. As I was walking by, I saw a bar called Nostalgia located underground and decided to go in. The atmosphere was nice, with a stylish and authentic bar feel. They had a variety of original cocktails, and the food menu was quite extensive. The omurice and Genovese were both well made. The cocktails were delicious too!

After finishing up my business in Osaka and finally making it to my accommodation in Kyoto past 10 PM, I decided to visit this place that I had bookmarked for a while, as it was still open. The location is down the stairs from Kawaramachi Gojo. Even though Kyoto's Kawaramachi tends to quiet down after 9 PM, this bar had quite a good crowd. A group of 5-6 people who seemed to have already been to 2 or 3 other bars were lounging on the sofa seats, ordering refills of chasers with tired expressions. Luckily, there were two seats available at the counter, so I sat down and ordered a drink. The menu had a variety of unique cocktails, with names like those of Shinsengumi members or birthstones. I was pondering aloud, "I feel like having something fruity..." and the bartender overheard and said, "The next page has fruit cocktails." I was impressed by how attentive they were! Feeling hungry, I also ordered omurice and spaghetti Napolitan. The chicken rice was flavorful and the spaghetti was chewy, both dishes were delicious! Of course, the cocktails were also tasty, and the variety of glassware displayed behind the counter was beautiful and added to the overall experience. Even for someone like me who is not familiar with bars, I could enjoy both the taste and visual appeal. Even if you're not sure about the menu, you can just tell them your preferences and they will make a drink to suit you. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, and I would love to visit again when I'm in Kyoto. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

A bar named "Shushouko" appears in a novel, with a long staircase leading down to it. Inside, it is an authentic bar with two groups of customers at table seats and one person at the counter. I sat at the counter and ordered a cocktail named after the novel, called "Fake Electric Brandy." It was a brandy-based cocktail mixed with liqueur, making it more luxurious than an Electric Brandy. The bartender kindly recommended a suitable liqueur to pair with it. The cocktails were authentic, the service was casual, and the prices were reasonable (less than 3,000 yen for three drinks). While some bars in Kyoto may seem unwelcoming to newcomers, this one had a welcoming atmosphere suitable for bar beginners. Thank you for the delicious experience.

I visited on June 21st ❤ The interior of the restaurant has a very calm atmosphere, perfect for those who want to relax and enjoy their drinks quietly. There are plenty of cocktail options available! I especially liked the birthstone cocktails, as I got to enjoy cocktails representing different birth months! They were not only beautiful to look at but also enjoyable.

After having a meal at Yamasato-san at Fushikoji, I visited Bar Nostalgia. It's located near the hotel and right in front of the Kawaramachi-Sanjo northbound bus stop, so I've been curious about it for a while. The restaurant is located in the basement of a building. Luckily, there was a seat available at the counter when I went in. The master made me a gin and tonic. The place is run by the master and a female staff member. Nostalgia is the main branch of the bar Rin To, which I visited in January along the Kamo River. When I mentioned that I had been to Rin To, the master gave me a business card. While chatting with the master, I enjoyed a Sidecar and an IW Harper soda highball. I was a bit tipsy, so I don't remember what we talked about. Thank you for the meal.

I had the pleasure of visiting the shop "朱硝子" in front of Kyoto City Hall, which appears in the novel (anime) "Uchouten Kazoku" by Tomihiko Morimi. The customer service was very good, and there was a variety of delicious drinks. However, as soon as I entered the store, it was filled with the smell of cigarettes, making it a tough environment for people who are not fond of smoking. In this day and age, I wish they would start separating smoking areas.
