I found this restaurant near the station when I had about 2 hours of free time before taking the Shinkansen back to Kanto from Kyoto. The restaurant was located underground, and I was shown to a counter seat initially, but I requested a booth and was accommodated. The menu was displayed on a touch panel. I ordered negi-yaki soba, negi-yaki mix, and a grapefruit highball. The dishes were brought to the table already cooked on a hot plate. Despite the small portion size, the flour-based dishes were filling. I wanted to try more dishes, but I had to leave early due to my Shinkansen departure time. By the time I left, the restaurant was quickly filling up. It was a Wednesday, but by 7 pm, there were already 2 groups of waiting customers. It seemed to be a popular restaurant, and I felt sorry for causing inconvenience by requesting a booth initially. I left the restaurant thinking about that.

The menu is touch, so while in Kyoto, I decided to reserve a negiyaki. I chose this place simply because it's close to the station and allows reservations. The squid negiyaki had a light seasoning and was served with mayonnaise and shichimi, making it a good appetizer. The salted cucumber was crispy and came with a creamy sauce. The beef tendon negiyaki had a soy sauce flavor, with a generous amount of bonito flakes on top. The thin and chewy dough, along with plenty of green onions, made it a healthy and delicious option. The mixed negiyaki had a sweet sauce, perfect for those who like a sweet and savory taste. For those who prefer spicy, there was a hint of spiciness reminiscent of gochujang, which paired well with the dish. We also ordered a simple negiyaki and added cheese on top, transforming it into a light and refreshing dish. The cheese melted nicely on top, complementing the green onions. We spent around 3600 yen for the two of us, which was reasonable for a tourist spot. Overall, it was a good experience dining at an okonomiyaki restaurant that offers affordable options. However, I definitely consumed about two weeks' worth of green onions during this meal.

It's a shop that cooks for you. The okonomiyaki has a smooth texture with finely chopped cabbage, making it almost unnoticeable. It's creamy and delicious. The geso-yaki and negi-yaki are also tasty and affordable. Surprisingly, the sweet potato chips were delicious as a snack, even though they are not okonomiyaki or teppanyaki. Everyone has their own preference for okonomiyaki, but there are many other menu items that look delicious, making it a great place to eat. I wanted to try the croquettes, but I was too full to order them.

The chain store is conveniently located near the station, making it easy to enter. The alcohol and food are reasonably priced and satisfying. Whenever I go to Kyoto, I always go there to drink at night. When I went this year, I noticed that ordering became touchscreen. The menu is easy to read and understand.

Once again, on my way home, I felt like eating yakisoba. This time I tried seafood yakisoba, of course with thick noodles. Delicious!

I have been to the Kyoto Station Front store, which is a little far from the station, so this was my first visit here. It's located in the basement of a building, and the shop is smaller than I expected. There are about 6 seats at the counter and 7-8 tables. The Kyoto Station Front store is always crowded, so I decided to try this place, but it also seems to have many customers. I tried the "Renkon with Shrimp" dish, which is slices of lotus root topped with grated shrimp and then grilled. The texture of the lotus root and shrimp combined well, and it was delicious. The Okonomiyaki Italian style had melted cheese and corn on top, which paired perfectly with the warm dish. The "Soy Sauce Udon" is like the udon version of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, with layers of udon noodles, vegetables, and grilled batter. The udon itself is not seasoned, so it's quite light. It might be good to add sauce for a richer flavor. I noticed the foreigner next to me was eating a spicy garlic stir-fried edamame dish. They seemed to struggle with eating the whole edamame pod, so maybe a bit more explanation is needed for this dish.

On the day I attended the Inazuma Rock Festival, which was later canceled due to a thunderstorm. Feeling down, I entered this restaurant. It seems to be a chain that is popular in the Kansai region, although I'm not familiar with it being from Kanto. I was seated at the counter and ordered a beer. I ordered the standard okonomiyaki. It was cooked right in front of me. After about 20 minutes, it was ready to eat. As the title suggests, it was an ordinary taste - not bad, not great, just average. In a good way, of course! The taste was consistent and reliable. Next, I ordered the kimchi yakisoba, which also had a reliable taste. Both dishes went well with the beer. If I ever feel like having okonomiyaki again while staying in Kyoto, I would consider coming back to this restaurant.

This is a shop located on the basement floor of a building in front of the station. It's a small shop that you might easily overlook at the entrance. I was looking for a place to have dinner after staying overnight near the station. There was a chain restaurant serving Kyushu chicken dishes nearby, and it looked nice, so I thought about going there, but the reviews on Tabelog weren't that good, so I skipped it (lol). I wanted to eat okonomiyaki, so I chose this shop. Since I was alone, I thought I would be seated quickly, but I ended up waiting for about 30 minutes. Looking at the menu, the prices weren't that high. The dishes were around 800-1000 yen each. I only had the impression of Kyoto being expensive when I ate yudofu, so I've developed a habit of checking the prices first (^^; My friend went to a regular restaurant and had pasta, paying around 2000 yen. The prices here are reasonable, but the portion size is a bit small. If you come with a few people, you'll need to order one dish per person. I had two drinks and three dishes for under 5000 yen. I think I ordered Kyujyo negi and young chicken with yuzu salt stir-fry, lotus root stuffed with shrimp, negiyaki soba with beef tendon, fresh lime chu-hi, and bakudan. There was a problem, so they didn't give me a receipt, and I forgot the exact order details. If you think of it as an okonomiyaki restaurant, it might be a bit expensive, but if you consider it as a teppanyaki izakaya, the prices are reasonable.

There are several okonomiyaki restaurants in Kyoto city. One of them was recommended as it stays open until late. When visiting close to midnight, the place was bustling with customers. The staff cooks and serves the food, which is great for gatherings or when you want to chat. They offer a wide variety of drinks and dishes, allowing you to enjoy snacks and your favorite drinks. Ordering cold dishes may be a bit tricky because of the hot plate (lol). The okonomiyaki batter was fluffy and delicious. Perhaps it's because it's cooked by professionals? While the prices may seem a bit high for an okonomiyaki restaurant, considering the elements of teppanyaki, it might be reasonable.

I visited "Donguri Kyoto Station East Store" this time, which opened on December 5th last year. However, there were no reviews posted for a long time, so as a Fushimi ward resident and Donguri fan, I couldn't just leave it as it is! Therefore, I decided to finally write a review. The location of the restaurant is on the northwest corner of Shio-koji Higashi-doin intersection in front of Kyoto Station (Karasuma exit, Kyoto Tower side). It's about 50 meters east from the scramble intersection of Kyoto Station (Karasuma Shio-koji). The restaurant is on the basement floor. It was past 9:00 PM when I arrived. As soon as I opened the door, the staff greeted me. This is my third visit to this place. The store is relatively small with 8 counter seats and 7 table seats (for 6 people each). It's much smaller compared to the nearby Kyoto Station store (Karasuma Shichijo). This time, I ordered a Yamazaki Highball Single and some food items for a closing drink. The highlight was the "Kyoto leek topping on thick noodle yakisoba." The Kyoto leek, in its prime season, added a unique spicy flavor to the dish, making it a gem. Despite being full from the closing drink, my colleague and I devoured it all. Donguri Kyoto Station East Store is still relatively unknown, so it's quite easy to get a seat compared to other Donguri stores. I will continue to support this store in the Kyoto Station area, where good restaurants are scarce. Thank you for the meal. [Note] Currently, Kyoto Tower is under renovation, and the observatory area is covered with cloth, resembling a candle. It's a rare sight, so take this opportunity to visit Kyoto and Donguri!

There were a lot of people in their college years. Is it a mixer? I didn't see anyone over 30s. It's a noisy place, but the food is not bad. The cost performance is also good. It was crowded even in the early hours, so if you want to sit down for sure, you probably need a reservation. I ate two okonomiyaki and ordered three other dishes separately, and had about four drinks, but I was full. You can see the ingredients being cooked on the teppan in front of you at the counter, so you can eat with peace of mind knowing how it's made.

I went with friends from high school (^^) We decided to go to the teppanyaki restaurant called Donguri because we wanted to eat a lot. Since they were teammates from the soccer team, we ordered the recommended dish by the staff, which was lotus root with shrimp. We also decided to order a salad with half-boiled eggs. The salad went really well with the eggs and was delicious! However, we ordered two salads and they disappeared quickly, probably because we were athletes. It would have been better if the salad had a bit more volume. But all the other dishes were delicious (^^) I will definitely go back again ( ´ ▽ ` )

I have used this restaurant several times as it is close to the station. However, the shop is small and often crowded, making it difficult to get a seat. It seems that I always arrive at the wrong time, as it is usually full during meal times. If it weren't for that, I would be happy with the wide variety of menu options and the ability to order different dishes without large portions. The service is also good, and I find it reassuring to sit at the counter and watch the dishes being prepared right in front of me.

While exploring Kyoto Station, I was in the mood for okonomiyaki after a long time. There seem to be two shops near Kyoto Station, and this time I visited the one closer to the station. I had a negiyaki (a type of okonomiyaki) and some bacon dishes that served as good snacks. It felt a bit like a chain restaurant, but overall, the food was delicious. The cost performance was also good, so I think it's worth it! There is also a branch in Shijo, so I would like to visit there next time!

I went with two colleagues!! It was a last-minute decision, so we called to check for availability but it was crowded at night. While waiting, we looked at the menu and placed our orders, but for some reason we were asked for our order again, which was a bit tiring... haha The dishes we ordered, especially the okonomiyaki and yam salt-grilled, were all delicious. It seems best not to expect too much from the service during busy times. haha The consideration for where to place our belongings at the table was great, but the seating felt a bit cramped.

Visited after a long time. Ordered the classic butadama and yakisoba. Watched people while waiting. Noticed the foreign couple next to us. They ordered tonpei, yakisoba, spicy edamame, and rice. As expected, foreigners eat a lot because they are big. But the most surprising thing was how well they used chopsticks. Maybe they are better than me. Perfect. As we were chatting, the okonomiyaki arrived. As always, Donburi's okonomiyaki was fluffy and crispy, and delicious. It's hard to believe it's made by part-time workers at a chain store. It was delicious. The yakisoba also arrived, and the two of us devoured it. I want to come back again.
