Today, my family and I visited this Chinese restaurant located in the newly opened commercial facility "Branch Matsui Yamate". Although it hasn't been open for even a year, its recognition seems to be gradually increasing, and the tenant spaces are starting to fill up and get busier. We arrived a little after 12 o'clock. The restaurant has a high ceiling and a sophisticated design with curved lines. On the right side, there is the kitchen area and a counter with 8 seats, while on the left side, there are 5-6 tables of various sizes. Jazz music is playing, creating a very comfortable atmosphere with cozy chairs to relax in.
The restaurant is run by a man in his 40s and a total of 6 staff members. The menu mainly focuses on Cantonese cuisine, offering a variety of dishes from individual items to courses made with high-quality ingredients. I ordered the "Mapo Tofu Lunch" as expected, while my family ordered the "Mixed Vegetable Stir-Fried Noodles Lunch". Before we knew it, it seems they are not fond of course-style meals, so we were served "Assorted Appetizers" for the family and a "Salad with Onsen Egg" for me. Both dishes were colorful and fresh, with a complex yet solid Chinese flavor that was delicious.
Next, the "Soup of the Day" was corn soup, which was elegant and rich in flavor, served hot. Finally, the main dishes arrived. The Mapo Tofu was served in a bubbling hot pot style, with a medium level of spiciness and a smooth texture from the minced meat and silk tofu. It was not too spicy but had a rich flavor that went well with rice. The Mixed Vegetable Stir-Fried Noodles featured medium-thick noodles that were slightly crispy, with a generous mix of pork, shrimp, squid, cabbage, carrots, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, greens, and a total of 8 ingredients. It was generously portioned and made with an elegant oyster sauce, with a slight thickness. I asked for a half portion of the complimentary rice and finished it soon after.
The dishes were refined and sophisticated, showcasing the experience gained from years of working in hotels. However, in comparison to other famous restaurants in the city, the cost-performance ratio may not be as good. But considering there are hardly any Chinese restaurants in this area, it might be a saving grace. Overall, the service was good. Thank you for the meal. Accessibility: There are about two steps leading to the restaurant, no wheelchair access. The restroom is located within Branch Matsui Yamate, and there is a parking discount service available (see photo).
