I visited this restaurant after a long time. I read a review by Myrebi-sama, Kawanoya Shinemon Oosensei, and it made me want to go there (^.^; Even on my first visit, I went based on Oosensei's review, and he really knows his stuff, introducing delicious soba restaurants. - Anago Tempura Soba (cold): 1400 yen I was originally planning to get the "Tempura Zaru" like Oosensei, but when I saw the Anago Tempura on the menu, I couldn't resist! I left the Tempura Zaru to my wife and chose the Anago Tempura Soba for myself. The soba itself is delicious, with thin noodles that have a good texture and a nice soba flavor. The Anago Tempura was a pleasant surprise! It was hot and freshly fried, and there was a generous amount - it seemed like a whole fish cut into two pieces. The flesh was fluffy and the thicker part near the head had a delicate texture with a refined umami flavor. The batter was crispy without being greasy, showing skilled frying technique. The tempura in the Tempura Zaru was also excellent! - Tempura Zaru Soba (cold): 1400 yen (tax included) The tempura included one shrimp tempura, shiitake mushroom, eggplant, green pepper, and mixed vegetable tempura. I only got a bite of the shrimp tempura. I dipped it in the soba dipping sauce and it was delicious (^.^) The condiments included green onions, wasabi, and quail egg. The wasabi was of high quality and really tasty. I feel like I could have a bowl just with the wasabi alone (^.^; The mixed vegetable tempura was a standard size and easy to bite into, with a crispy texture and guaranteed delicious taste. I remember last time I ordered the "Kakiage Soba" and it had a huge kakiage. I couldn't finish it and had to take it home, but it was still delicious when I had it for dinner. The soba is authentic and delicious, and the tempura is also appealing. The service is top-notch, with a double thumbs up, or rather, a perfect score. It was surprisingly not too crowded this time, maybe around 60% full. I was prepared to wait, but it was lucky that it wasn't as busy as I expected. I'm grateful to Oosensei for introducing such a delicious restaurant. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal~♪

This is a restaurant that is always crowded. I visited without a reservation for the first time, seeking the limited 20 servings of daily lunch special. Arriving 30 minutes before opening in the hot weather, I was the first one there as the parking lot was empty. I ordered the famous tempura soba as cold soba, and for the daily special, it was nameko mushroom soba, but I decided to try it as warm soba for a different texture. The cold soba had a good firmness, and when dipped in the quail egg and wasabi flavored broth, it was delicious! The tempura was huge, about 5 centimeters thick, and I got two of them. The staff mentioned that it's okay to take home any leftover tempura. It was so big that I wasn't confident I could finish it if I wasn't hungry. The tempura was packed and couldn't be easily broken with chopsticks, but it was too big to dip in the broth. I sprinkled salt and ate it directly. It was delicious at first because it was hot, but it became too heavy, and the second one was tough. Personally, I prefer tempura with a lighter, crispy texture rather than the dense, heavy kind. The daily special warm soba lacked firmness and the broth was weak, giving a feeling more like udon noodles. It came with side dishes and rice, making it a good deal, but in summer, I should have stuck with the cold soba...

Summer limited edition sticky soba noodles with four types of slimy toppings. Quail eggs, molokhia, okra, and grated yamaimo are generously piled on top, creating a refreshing and summery soba dish. The soba noodles have a firm texture and are delicious, making me want to try the warm soba noodles next time.

For dinner, I decided on soba noodles. I wanted to have a large tempura, but they were sold out, so I settled for tempura soba with small tempura instead. I enjoyed eating the soba noodles while snacking on the tempura, and the tempura at the end was delicious! I'm glad I was able to have the tempura.

This soba restaurant always has a long line, with many customers coming from other prefectures. The crispy and hot tempura, along with the thin and light hand-cut soba, was delicious and easy to eat. The duck soba set comes with tempura and side dishes, making it a good deal at 1700 yen, even though it's a bit pricey. The cozy atmosphere was also nice. There were signs of celebrities like Abarenbo Shogun and Fujisaki Market, so they may have visited the restaurant for a TV show.

I visited the restaurant as soon as it opened, but it quickly became full. It was my first visit, so I ordered the luxurious duck meal, which had a huge portion and filled me up! Next time, I'm aiming for the grated nameko mushroom soba (laugh).

I suddenly felt like eating delicious soba, so I visited for the first time for lunch. I had the duck soup soba set with extra noodles (+450), and my wife had the tempura soba set. The soba had a wonderful aroma and a great texture, and the duck meat was moist and perfectly cooked. The tempura was crispy and delicious. We enjoyed everything. Next time, I want to come with my children and have a meal with the whole family.

Blog ⇒ 【Riding on the Flowing Clouds♪】Hold me tight Osaka Bay Blues♪ Oh, the original two-sword style! He's a baseball god, right? ↑ No, no, that's Babe Ruth! Ah! Osaka Bay Blues was by Masaki Ueda. So, I have a story about visiting Osakaw Long ago, Osaka was a city that seemed close but far away. Despite being right next to Hyogo, I had almost never set foot in it. And before I knew it, I had moved to Tokyo. So, it really became a distant city for me. I thought maybe there was no connection to that city anymore... But two years ago, I returned after 33 years. Since then, I had been planning to visit. When should I go? Now! (← old meme) So, I traveled around here and there (^^) Along the way, I crossed the prefectural border and visited a temple in Kyoto. One of them was "Shuon-an Ikkyu-ji", the famous temple of Ikkyu-san. While looking at the garden, I suddenly felt hungry... (← always thinking about food) So, I visited the nearby "Raku-an". This is a popular local hand-made soba shop. It seemed really popular, with a constant stream of customers. As a result, the parking lot was almost full. Luckily, there was one spot available, just in time! When I entered, the restaurant was about 80% full. It was already past 2 PM, so lunchtime should have been over... Well, it's so popular that the lunch menu was sold out. So, I ordered two types of bukkake soba from the à la carte menu♪ The two toppings were "fried mochi" and "chicken tempura". First, the soba itself was a bit roughly cut, with a fun texture. The soba broth also had a punch, and the tempura was excellently done, not losing to the tempura at all. Service: Excellent Cuisine: Excellent Value for money: Excellent ※ If there are 10 stars lined up, it's a perfect score! (v^ー°)

I went to Kawachiya because a fellow reviewer from the Uji area recommended it. I couldn't wait to try their new soba, so I went there right away. I ordered the "Tenzaru" which was delicious. The tempura was crispy and the soba was perfect. Unfortunately, I arrived just after 12 pm and the lunch set was already sold out. Most people around me ordered the Tenzaru as well. I wonder what time I should arrive to be able to get the lunch set. I saw a post on Facebook by the owner about the lunch set, so I definitely want to try it next time. The tempura was served with a delicious dipping sauce, and I enjoyed the soba without any seaweed on top. I like dipping the tempura in the sauce and then mixing it with the soba. It was a great meal, and I also enjoyed the soba-yu at the end. I will definitely go back soon, maybe to try the duck soba. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I finally got to visit the popular restaurant with a long line and ordered the tempura soba. When I looked closely at the photo, I realized the tempura pieces were large and heavy to pick up with chopsticks. They were crispy and light with each bite, and I got so absorbed in eating the tempura that I almost forgot about the delicious soba noodles and broth. Somehow, I managed to finish both tempura pieces without feeling too full. Overall, I was very satisfied.

After checking out of Hotel Nikko Nara, I headed back to Uji in my beloved car, Lilanta! Since it was lunchtime, I decided to stop by "Rakuan" in Kyotanabe City for a meal. This place is frequented by MyRebi members from Osaka and Nara, so I was excited to try it out. I arrived at around 11:15 and managed to snag one of the five parking spots right in front of the restaurant. There were only two other groups of customers, so I was seated promptly. Here's what we ordered: - Tempura Soba (cold) 1,500 yen (mine) - Mori Soba (cold) 900 yen (friend's) The Tempura Soba came with a variety of tempura including shrimp, eggplant, shiitake mushrooms, pumpkin, and green peppers. The tempura was crispy and delicious, especially the plump shrimp. The soba noodles were served with salt, and later with soba dipping sauce. The portion was generous, and the noodles had a nice texture. The accompanying side dish of sweet and savory simmered peppers was also tasty. The Mori Soba had a large serving of noodles and was equally delicious. The soba had a clean and smooth taste, and I enjoyed it with salt, soba dipping sauce, green onions, and wasabi. The soba water was rich and comforting, perfect for a chilly day. The restaurant quickly filled up with customers, and the energetic female staff member efficiently attended to everyone. I hope to visit again during the new soba season. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience at Rakuan.

Nebaneba Bukkake Soba - Price starting from 1100 yen - Situation - I arrived at the restaurant around 11:55 on Sunday and was seated immediately. After 15 minutes, there was a line forming, so I was lucky with the timing. - Couple points - If you order two, you can share. There are dividers between seats, but they can be removed. - Taste, etc. - The soba noodles were surprisingly firm and flat, which was refreshing and delicious. It tasted even better when dipped in the dashi broth that my wife was having. The slimy texture and fragrant broth made it a perfect dish for summer. It was a casual restaurant, but I left very satisfied. - Other points of interest - Separate restrooms for men and women. PayPay is accepted.

The portion was generous and the taste was great, and the staff were very friendly. The staff members were very cheerful and energetic. My father ordered tempura, which came with two large pieces that were as big as a rice bowl, and they were thin, making them easy to eat! He said he would like to visit this restaurant again if we are nearby. ☺︎

Located in Kyotanabe City, this soba restaurant faces Route 22 and has a parking lot for 5 cars in front of the store. I ordered the Tempura Soba (1400 yen) and was impressed by the unevenly cut handmade soba noodles, which added to its appeal. The noodles had a delicious aroma and texture, and the dipping sauce was sweet with a clear flavor profile. The condiments included green onions, wasabi, and quail eggs, which was a unique touch. The freshly fried tempura had a slightly thick coating. Overall, I felt that this restaurant offers authentic soba dishes that cater to a wide range of customers, especially local families.

The shop had a rating of 3.40 when visited. Spring is warm this year, but there are still chilly days. On this particular day, I enjoyed the bounty of spring, wild vegetables in a warm broth. The unique aroma and texture of the wild vegetables were delightful. This soba shop in Kyoto is a must-visit when in Kyotanabe. The flavors are consistently good. ^^

I wanted to try a soba restaurant that had a good reputation. Despite being popular and often full, I decided to go. I ordered the Kakiage Soba for 1200 yen. The server warned me that it was quite large, but I said "I'll do my best!" When it arrived, the kakiage was huge - even as big as my husband's face! We couldn't finish it all, so I shared a piece with my husband. The soba noodles were very thin, almost like somen noodles, and had a nice chewy texture. I opted for the cold soba, but I think the warm soba would be good when you're not feeling hungry. The quail egg they serve with the soba was a nice touch. The soba-yu was okay, but I prefer it to be thicker. My husband ordered the Rakuan Lunch for 1250 yen, which came with warm soba and side dishes like eggplant and stir-fried vegetables. Everything had a gentle and delicious flavor. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, but we prefer soba noodles with a bit more thickness and chewiness. The staff were friendly, but we overheard them chatting about unrelated topics, which was a bit disappointing. When eating Japanese food, we prefer a more relaxed atmosphere. Seeing the staff before the restaurant officially opened may have also contributed to our feeling that we may not return.

Today is a substitute holiday. After finishing my errands in Takano Hara, I got a haircut and it's already lunchtime. I visited the highly praised "Teuchi Soba Raku-an" for the first time. I ordered: - Kakiage Soba: 1,200 yen - Large size: 400 yen (both prices include tax) The interior of the restaurant is spacious enough. There are tables for 6 people and 12 people, and tatami seating for 6 people, totaling 3. The tatami seating can be a bit tight for 6 people, so 4 people would be more comfortable. The staff, who I assume is the owner's wife, is very friendly and welcoming. The disinfection after customers leave is also done perfectly. The food was served in about 10 minutes. The Kakiage Soba (warm) in large size had huge kakiage, two of them! The warm soba, which I upgraded to a large size for an additional 400 yen, was served in a bowl filled to the brim. The soba noodles, cut very thinly, had a soft texture and were easy to eat. Now, onto the kakiage! It was delicious! The crispy kakiage with various ingredients was incredibly tasty! I tried some on its own and then placed some on the edge of the soba bowl. I enjoyed the delicious Kakiage Soba while adding sansho pepper and shichimi pepper. This kakiage could also be great as a kakiage donburi or as a tamagotoji donburi. The portion was overwhelming, and I couldn't finish the second kakiage, so I had it packed for 50 yen. The soba noodles got a bit sticky towards the end due to their thinness and the large portion. Perhaps the zaru or cold bukkake soba is recommended here! Oh, I almost forgot to drink the soup! Of course, the soup, soaked with the essence of the kakiage, was also delicious! The person sitting next to me, who seemed to be about 10 years older than me, ordered the same thing. I watched as they effortlessly finished one kakiage and smoothly moved on to the second one. It was really delicious! I am full now! Maybe next time, I'll try the fried mochi. Thank you for the meal!

I visited Rakuan for the first time in a while on December 3rd. It was crowded during lunchtime, so I was worried about not getting a seat. Luckily, there was one parking spot available when I arrived. When I entered the restaurant, the tables were mostly occupied, and I was seated at a large shared table. However, just as the previous customers were leaving, I was left alone at the table. I was determined to have the Tenzaru (tempura soba) as it's the season for new soba. The tempura arrived, and I couldn't help but smile. The tempura here is unique, with a huge tempura fritter. I enjoyed the soba by dipping it in the sauce and savoring the flavors. The tempura was freshly fried and tasted delicious when dipped in the sauce. It was a blissful moment at Rakuan. I hadn't been here for over three years, and I realized what a waste it was.

Second visit! There was a bit of a wait! The soba noodles were thin and the broth coated them well! The texture was interesting too! The tempura had deliciously plump shrimp, but it was a bit greasy which was a downside! The vegetable tempura was average!

I had some business in Kizugawa, so I remembered this place for lunch. When I tried to park in front of the restaurant after 12 o'clock, it was full. There are only 5 parking spaces on the north side. I parked at a nearby Times and walked for 2-3 minutes to enter the restaurant. Perhaps due to the influence of COVID-19, surprisingly, I was able to enter smoothly! Lucky! They served me tea, which was nice, it was soba tea! Delicious! I really wanted to have tempura shrimp, so I ordered the Tempura Shrimp Soba (cold). The soba noodles were thin and flat. I tried the soba noodles on their own first. They had a good firmness and were easy to eat because they were thin and smooth. However, the aroma was a bit weak in my opinion. Personally, I prefer thicker noodles if they have a good firmness. But this is just my preference! When I mixed all the dipping sauce for the soba, it tasted better as a whole and was delicious! And most importantly, the tempura shrimp was delicious! The tempura shrimp had a crispy, light coating and a juicy shrimp inside! The perfect balance of crispy and juicy shrimp! I thought it would be great to enjoy it with a little salt and some sake. The service was smart, and the atmosphere was calming, so I would like to come back next time to try their warm soba. Thank you for the meal!

Had lunch at "Rakuan" in Kyotanabe City. Unfortunately, the Rakuan lunch was sold out, showing how popular this place is. I opted for the "Duck Soba Set", which was delicious. The duck was amazing and the duck broth was outstanding. The soba noodles were so good that it made it hard to judge the quality of the soba itself. The portion of soba was generous, so I didn't need the tempura or the rice that came with it. The soba broth was light and refreshing.
