I got a pack of mixed sandwiches (2 pieces) for 300 yen, as I had a drinking party the night before. There were various combinations to choose from on a tray. I ate them at work and first of all, the bread was delicious! It was soft and chewy, almost too tender to bite through. The egg sandwich had a sweet and gentle flavor, with plenty of filling inside. The pastrami and coleslaw sandwich had a nice balance of flavors. There are still many more types to try, so I plan to stop by again. It's amazing to find a shop of this level in such a rural area... Kyoto's bread culture is truly impressive.

I heard that there is a sandwich shop near Aotsu Station in Joyo City that specializes in take-out, and they offer smoothies made with Joyo figs. The smoothie changes depending on the season, and Joyo figs are only available from late summer to autumn. You can choose from milk, soy milk, or water to mix with, and this time I chose milk. It costs 300 yen each. The smoothie made with milk and frozen Joyo figs has a gentle sweetness, allowing you to fully enjoy the natural flavor of figs. I had it with milk, but I think water would be the best for enjoying the figs. It's simple, but you can really taste the deliciousness of the figs as the main ingredient! In addition to smoothies, they also offer main sandwiches, baked goods, and pizza at the store. Especially the sandwiches are voluminous, with a wide variety and very affordable prices! Next time, I'll be sure to try the sandwiches!

I drove from the north and used my smartphone to find a shortcut, so I took the road between the hills of the sun. I arrived at a quaint town. Even Jouyosake Brewery looks old-fashioned. Aotani Station also looks old-fashioned. It should only be 25 years old. To the east of the station, you can see a blue mountain. A little walk along the road next to the railway tracks led me to a small shop off the main street. I ordered a mixed sandwich for 250 yen, and a bean curry sandwich for 300 yen, with a discount of 50 yen for buying both. The mixed sandwich had a homemade feel to it. The bean curry had a good flavor and was satisfying. However, I was amazed at the difference between this area and the Kintetsu line, even though it's true that Japan Railways didn't focus much on business. I would like to visit this shop again, this time by JR train. This visit helped me understand this area for the first time.

I went to the Mountain City Aotani to buy a sandwich called "Unique Sand Rosemary". They offer options like pork cutlet sandwich, salmon sandwich, and egg and bacon sandwich, all of which are filled with plenty of ingredients and delicious sauce. They also have a new smoothie for 250 yen, made with local vegetables, fruits, and blueberries. Although not listed on the menu, they offer a smoothie made with locally grown figs from Joyo, which can be mixed with water, soy milk, or regular milk. It's full of fig flavor and very refreshing. This special smoothie is only available for a limited time, so fig lovers should try it soon.

After getting off at Yamashiro-Aodani Station on the JR Nara Line and walking towards Nara, you will pass by Supermarket Yamadaya and turn left into a narrow road where the shop is located. I decided to revisit because the egg sandwich and salmon sandwich I bought last time were delicious. This time, I chose the beef sandwich and shrimp cutlet sandwich. They cost 300 yen each, but if you buy two, you can get them for 500 yen. The sandwiches are filled with plenty of ingredients made from high-quality materials. The canelé and gâteau au chocolat are also delicious.

It's a takeout-only place. I had a sandwich with a generous portion, along with soup and baked goods. It was very delicious.
