This time, I visited a shop called KASUMI located between Kawaramachi Shinkyogoku Street and Teramachi Street. This shop is decorated with dried flowers and cats, making it a cute and stylish place.
I tried the 10-dish set meal for 1,430 yen, which included:
- Mixed grain rice
- Salmon salad
- Miso soup
- Fried pumpkin
- Fried taro
- Boiled komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach)
- Cucumber
- Shishito peppers
- Beef tendon stew
- Eggplant simmered in broth
- Rolled omelette
- Lotus root with spicy cod roe mayo dressing
With all these dishes on one plate, the gentle flavors were amazing. The eggplant simmered in broth and fried taro had a delicious taste of broth soaked in, and the taro was crispy on the outside and chewy and elastic on the inside, very delicious.
Being able to eat a meal at a cafe and enjoy a variety of dishes that are gentle on the body for around 1,000 yen is fantastic. I highly recommend this place, but it's always crowded because it's so popular. ☺️

I found a delicious hamburger on SNS and decided to visit! The entrance was filled with trees and greenery, making it hard to believe it was located in a shopping street. I climbed the stairs to the second floor on a rainy weekday, and there were two groups waiting. The staircase and waiting area were not very spacious, so those who dislike feeling cramped may want to avoid busy times. After a 20-minute wait, I was called in! I was surprised to see that the walls, ceiling, and tables were all decorated with dried flowers, which was incredibly cute! The menu consisted of 3 options: 10 kinds of obanzai lunch, large steak lunch, and hamburger lunch. I chose the hamburger, which arrived promptly despite the full house. The hamburger was juicy and flavorful, served with a sunny-side-up egg, potato fries, salad, rice, and miso soup. The hamburger was thick and well-seasoned, pairing perfectly with the egg. However, the miso soup and potato fries were a bit too salty, which was a bit disappointing. The portion size was just right for women but may be a bit small for men. Overall, I was satisfied with the atmosphere and price of the restaurant! Thank you very much!

[Kyoto Kawaramachi] A cafe located 5 minutes from Kawaramachi Station ☕️ The theme of the cafe is dry flowers and cats. A big cat welcomes you, so cute ❤️ Cats everywhere ❤️❤️❤️ And the display of dry flowers is amazing, it feels like you can smell the fragrance. Surrounded by flowers and with gentle piano background music, it makes you feel so relaxed ❤️❤️ Such a cute cafe, perfect for enjoying tonight's dinner ❤️ It feels so luxurious. Since it's a cafe, there are so many drink options that it's hard to decide. My husband had a Blue Hawaii, and I chose a Strawberry Hawaii Ice with Rock Salt Milk. The dishes are relatively light and resemble a stylish hotel breakfast. The balance is good and it will keep you energized for the day. The rice is mixed grain rice, which is great for health-conscious individuals! The popular dinner set, especially for health-conscious individuals, is served in a bowl filled with cute and overflowing dishes ❤️❤️❤️ The staff were always smiling and provided pleasant service.

Visited with my family of four, including two children. The whole place was decorated with dried flowers and the tables were stylish, creating a great atmosphere. I ordered the hamburger set from the lunch menu. The hamburger was surprisingly delicious, not what you would expect from a café! The portion size was also good, even as a man I felt satisfied. I definitely want to come back! :)

When I was wondering where to have dinner on a weekday night near Kawaramachi, I saw the sign of this restaurant and decided to go in. I was surprised to find that the interior was very cute!!! It was filled with cats and dried flowers. The glass under the table was filled with dried flowers, flowers hanging from the ceiling, and cute ornaments including cats on the wall shelves. There were too many things I wanted to take pictures of...! The food options included healthy obanzai sets and hearty dishes like steak and hamburgers. The hamburger came with multigrain rice, which was nice! The potatoes were salty, which I like, and the hamburger came with an egg, making me really satisfied! The portion was just right for someone with an average appetite like me, not too much or too little. I even had room for dessert. The dessert menu looked delicious, but I wanted to take my time, so I ordered a cute drink with cookies and ice cream on top. It had fruit pulp inside and was really tasty! I think this cafe would excite many women.

KASUMI in Kawaramachi offers a lunch set with 10 types of side dishes such as salmon, simmered eggplant, ohitashi, and pumpkin stew, along with multigrain rice and miso soup. The charm of this place is being able to enjoy a variety of dishes in small portions. The amount of rice is also quite satisfying, making it a hearty lunch. The interior is decorated with lots of dried flowers giving it a cute and retro antique feel, with glass tables filled with dried flowers underneath. The clientele is mostly women, but there were also couples dining there.

The atmosphere is really nice. It's a cozy space with dried flowers and cat decorations, and warm colored lights. I ordered the highly recommended home-cooked dish. It was okay, nothing extraordinary. The menu may vary depending on the season. The pudding was tasty for the price, and the portion was good. It might be a good place for casual cafe visits. However, even on a weekday at 1 pm, there was a 40-minute wait, which may not be worth it. Recommended for those who enjoy the atmosphere.

It was a really wonderful space. It was great to be able to eat while looking at the flowers. I ordered the hamburger set, which was very generous in portion and had a lovely presentation. Next time, I want to try something different.

Botanical Cafe KASUMI is located just a short walk from Hankyu Kawaramachi station. The cafe is filled with dried flowers and has a trendy atmosphere. They offer a set of 10 different small dishes made with various vegetables, which are not only visually appealing but also delicious. From simmered eggplant to spinach and yuba, pumpkin stew, and crispy lotus root and taro tempura, the dishes are full of the natural flavors of the ingredients. It's fun to choose which one to eat first as they all look so tempting. The drink menu is also extensive, featuring drinks like strawberry cream soda and sky blue cream soda, both of which are adorable and refreshing. The interior of the cafe is decorated with dried flowers, creating a stylish and Instagram-worthy setting. Located near Shinkyogoku in Kyoto's Kawaramachi, the cafe is easily accessible and definitely worth a repeat visit.
The plate at Obanzai was amazing! I found this place on Instagram and saved it, and since it's close to Nishiki Market, I decided to explore the market and then head to the restaurant. Even though it was early for dinner, the place was quite busy. I ordered the 10 kinds of Obanzai set that I had my eye on, and my companions also chose the same. The set included sashimi, pumpkin simmered in soy sauce, chicken ham, rolled omelette, spinach and yuba salad, fried taro, cabbage with sesame dressing, simmered eggplant, miso soup with fried tofu, seaweed, and taro stem with cod roe mayo, cucumber pickles, and multigrain rice. The variety was impressive, and the dishes were all subtly flavored with a strong dashi taste. I'm not a fan of tubers, but the fried taro was surprisingly delicious. The set also came with sashimi, and all of this for only ¥1430 including tax was amazing! The restaurant's interior was decorated with dried flowers and had a cute atmosphere that would appeal to women. As time passed, the place filled up quickly with mostly women, but I also noticed couples and families. It's a place that anyone can enjoy. I definitely want to come back here again! ❤️

I visited the restaurant around noon looking for lunch. The interior was decorated with many dried flowers, creating a stylish atmosphere. Most of the customers were women, making it seem like a good place for a girls' gathering. The obanzai set meal was famous, so I ordered it. There were many options, and they were all delicious. It's not cheap, but for the variety offered, I was satisfied. The seasoning was a bit strong, so it may be more suited for younger people than older ones. I would like to try a different set meal or dessert next time.

There is a super Instagrammable cafe in Shin Kyogoku, Kyoto, with lots of dried flowers both inside and outside. The set meal I had included over 10 side dishes and only cost 1,300 yen even at night. The cream soda with a cat-shaped cookie was adorable. The tables were cute and the all-female staff was very soothing. It's very popular, with many foreign visitors, so be prepared to wait in line when you go.

KASUMI izakaya+restaurant♡Kyoto❤️Kawaramachi♡my pick!・ Braised pork set♡I went to "izakaya+restaurant Kasumi-KASUMI-" in Kyoto on Shinkyogoku Street! The restaurant is decorated with lots of dried flowers, creating a stylish and cute atmosphere! The food is delicious and highly recommended. It is located on a narrow street connecting Teramachi Street and Shinkyogoku Shopping Street, making it a bit hard to find. Look for the sign as a landmark. I arrived around 7:30 pm and the restaurant was almost full, but I managed to get a table. The interior is adorned with many dried flowers, creating a botanical and stylish space where you can enjoy a leisurely meal. The handmade tables are each decorated with different flowers, making them incredibly cute. The cozy and chic ambiance of the restaurant lifts your mood. The restaurant mainly serves "obanzai," which are daily homemade dishes in Kyoto. If you want to try Kyoto-style food, obanzai is recommended. You can also use the cafe, where they offer drinks like coffee, tea, cream soda, as well as desserts like cheesecake and ice cream. I ordered the braised pork set, which was served promptly after I poured myself some water. The braised pork was juicy and the marinated egg was delicious. The spinach and yuba ohitashi had a light and comforting flavor. The shirasu and shishito pepper salad was moist and refreshing. The simmered daikon was sweet and flavorful, perfect with rice. The pumpkin tempura had a crispy coating that highlighted the sweetness of the pumpkin. The taro tempura had a thin, crispy coating and a soft, chewy interior. The cucumber pickles had a refreshing taste with hints of shiso and yuzu. The salad was colorful and packed with ingredients like mizuna, bell pepper, okra, and red radish, making it visually appealing.

I wanted to try some obanzai dishes while in Kyoto, but it was hard to find affordable options. This restaurant offered dishes around 1000 yen, which was great. The atmosphere was also very nice, with cat-themed decorations everywhere. It made me excited even before the food arrived.

■Botanical cafe bar with blooming dried flowers located in the shopping street of Kawaramachi. I had dinner here a few years ago and this time I visited for a cafe experience. I ordered the Basque cheesecake and also the Gateau Chocolat with pistachio ice cream. ■Order (excluding tax) ✔Basque Cheesecake 550 yen Served with whipped cream and a cat-shaped cookie, beautifully decorated with sauce around the plate. The cheesecake has a firm outer layer and a rare texture towards the center, providing a delightful contrast in textures. The slightly bitter burnt part on the surface adds a soft accent. ✔Gateau Chocolat 550 yen Moist cake with a strong bittersweet chocolate flavor. ✔Uji Matcha Latte 600 yen Served in a unique jar. It has a subtle sweetness complementing the matcha flavor. ■Store Information ・Tabelog: 3.31 (as of March 1, 2023) ・Access: About a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Line "Kyoto Kawaramachi Station" or about a 9-minute walk from Keihan Main Line "Gion Shijo Station" ・Business Hours: 12:00-20:00 ・Regular Holiday: Refer to Instagram ・Seating: Table seating ・Parking: None (Coin parking available nearby) ・Wi-Fi: Not available ・Power Outlets: Not available

I was curious about the obanzai lunch, so I decided to try it out. It was a popular restaurant with a line since opening. I wasn't expecting much, but the flavors were all well-seasoned and delicious. You could tell that each dish was handmade, and I enjoyed trying a variety of obanzai dishes. They paired well with alcohol too! Even after leaving, there was still a long line.

On weekends, this popular restaurant requires lining up to get in. I visited on a weekday with guests from afar and luckily got a seat in the back. The cute cakes and cups, along with the interior decorated with dried flowers and cats, were very soothing. There were many women in the restaurant. On this day, I had Basque-style cheesecake and caramel chai. My companion was also delighted. I would like to go back for a meal sometime.

I visited around 5:45 pm on Sunday. More than half of the seats were taken. I often come back to this restaurant for dinner.
- Chicken Nanban Set for 1,540 yen including tax: This dinner set was great as it included a variety of items for a balanced meal. The side dishes like fried taro were very delicious. I will definitely come back again!

I gave in to my craving for beef shoulder loin this time and ordered this instead, but it was much more luxurious than the photo and I was surprised. I didn't know there was something that could surpass Komeda in going beyond the photo. I want to know how they fry their potatoes. They have easily surpassed all the potato dishes I've had before.
