During the previous visit to the ramen restaurant "Mon Sen," I vowed to myself that I would definitely come at night next time. The original goal was to visit "89th Street Dining," but it was full! This place is a collection of multiple shops, and almost all the table seats were either full or reserved. It was just before the Bon Festival, and there was also a lantern floating event at Teradaya Beach, so it was crowded. Just when I was about to give up, I found a single vacant seat at a Western-style bar counter! Although I had come to Fushimi with the image of sake, I compromised and secured a seat here. Surprisingly, this collective shop allows takeout orders, and while not all the menus from other shops are available, you can order some. First, I paid my respects to the shop with a selection of five appetizers. Then, I ordered a tasting set of three sakes through takeout. You can choose your favorites from the list. The main shop seemed to have a tasting set of 17 sakes, but if I had drunk all of them, I wonder what would have happened... The appetizers were quite good, with duck meat, roast beef, cheese, potato salad, and olives. Two women snacking on them made us quite full. The additional octopus ajillo and carbonara were reasonably priced and tasted high-quality. In the end, we only ordered sake through takeout. The highlight was the barrel-aged raw wine, smooth and mellow, it was really good. After leaving the shop slightly tipsy, we took a solemn walk to see the lantern floating event. Among the three sakes in the tasting set, the most delicious was the "Minamoto Bee's nama-zake" from Shinsei Shuzo. The next day, I bought it at Aburanagashi in Ote-suji Shopping Street and enjoyed it with our dinner at home.
