During my commute, I always saw the sign in front of the building but never had the chance to go in. It seemed more convenient to drink around Kyoto Station when thinking about heading home. This time, a friend and I suddenly decided to go for a drink, so we said, "Hey, we've never been there before. Let's give it a try." The restaurant is located on the basement floor of the building. It looks like a chain izakaya, but it doesn't feel cheap, and the place is clean. The seats are also spacious. The staff are all friendly. There's a wide variety of menu items, such as seafood, fried foods, salads, and yakitori. The portions are quite generous, so be careful not to order too much at once. The drink menu is also extensive, with options like small drink sets available. They also offer course menus with all-you-can-drink options that you can order on the day. There are dessert options that are sure to please the ladies, with some creative twists. It's a dangerous spot for a detour because you might end up wanting more.

The prices are reasonable, making it a good deal. We often use this restaurant when having social gatherings with 10 or more people in Kyoto. It's conveniently located near Karasuma Oike Station, taking less than 5 minutes to walk there. The food has a chain restaurant feel to it, but it's decent. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious, making it easy to use.

This time, we went with about 20 people, so I think it was a course with all-you-can-drink. It's located right near Karasuma Oike, making it a good place for drinking with a large group. It's not a private room like in a student area, and the lighting is bright, giving it a clean and beautiful Kyoto-like atmosphere. They offer a variety of drinks from beer to draft beer, wine, etc., and the food is similar to what you would find at a regular izakaya chain. The dishes weren't particularly delicious, but they were decent. It may not be the best choice for those looking for a place with private rooms.

The all-you-can-drink option was appealing, but since it was only available as a set for two people with food, I had to give up as I was dining alone. The food itself wasn't particularly delicious, but the overnight pickled eggplant and cucumber had just the right amount of flavor, which was nice. The other dishes were about average. It's just a regular izakaya, but the location being underground makes it a bit hard to find. However, it's worth taking the plunge and giving it a try. It was good.

It is located on the basement floor of a building southeast of the Karasuma Oike intersection. The nearest station is the Karasuma Oike subway station. It is open until a relatively late 11:30 PM near Karasuma Oike station. It is part of the same group as the Yushin restaurant located at Kyoto Station. On a weekday night, the atmosphere was unexpectedly quiet and felt like a hidden gem. The restaurant has table seating, sunken kotatsu seating, and counter seating. The menu offers a variety of typical izakaya dishes. The salad was surprisingly large in size.

Inside the subway station of Karasuma Oike Station. Convenient access to the Tozai Line, Karasuma Line, and a 5-minute walk to the Keihan Line. On this day, we had a lively time at the first bar with the Kyoto guides, then moved on to the second bar. They had a wide selection of drinks. We enjoyed classic appetizers like tomato salad, nama-fu dengaku, and nan-kotsu karaage while chatting away. We stayed until the last train, savoring the moment.

The restaurant is conveniently located near the station with good access, has a wide variety of menu options, and offers reasonable prices. It is always crowded with office workers due to the many office buildings nearby. It is a perfect izakaya for those who do not have particular preferences for food or atmosphere.

After meeting near Karasuma Oike in Kyoto, we went to this izakaya directly connected to Karasuma Oike for our party. I ordered a draft beer, but it tasted flat for some reason. I couldn't figure out why, but it was a bit of a letdown. The yakitori, sashimi, potato fries, fried ayu fish, and gyoza that the organizer kept ordering were not impressively delicious. Considering the fact that there are many delicious izakayas concentrated in the Karasuma Oike area in Kyoto, I wonder how this particular restaurant manages to survive. The bill came out to around 4000 yen, which is not exactly cheap, so why? By the way, the person who made the reservation for this restaurant doesn't drink alcohol and doesn't really care much about the taste of food. The party conversation was enjoyable, but I feel like the food didn't really play a role in enhancing the atmosphere of the gathering.

It might be a bit on the pricier side for an izakaya, but the taste is relatively good. We had a group of nearly 10 people on the day, and we were treated well. Thank you for the meal.

We traveled from Kobe to Kyoto with colleagues by JR train to see the Daimonji bonfires. As we passed Yamazaki Station, the sky started to look ominous. Upon arriving at Kyoto Station, we transferred to the subway and got off at Karasuma-Oike Station. Before heading to see the Daimonji bonfires, we decided to stop by this restaurant just a minute away from the station. The interior had a calming traditional Japanese atmosphere, and the room we were seated in was very cozy. We started with some ice-cold beers and enjoyed a variety of dishes including salad, fried foods, and delicious fish. Although I didn't try it, many people raved about the okonomiyaki with sand innards, saying it was delicious. After indulging in food and drinks, we were surprised by a sudden downpour when we stepped outside, so we had to give up on seeing the Daimonji bonfires this time. Maybe next year we'll have a chance for a rematch.

I used this restaurant for a drinking party with colleagues. I have visited a few times before, but this is my first time posting a review on Tabelog. The space is large and it rarely gets crowded. The interior is clean and the prices are reasonable. When in doubt, this place is a good choice. This time, we ordered a lot for 5 people, but considering the amount we ordered, it was quite a good deal (¥4,750 per person). Overall, I think the cost performance is good. The food, especially the grilled skewers, was delicious and the variety of cocktails and chu-hi drinks was extensive. Even a group of women would surely enjoy it. There are many restaurant options in this area, but I have a feeling I will come back here next time too.

The station is close by, and the restaurant is clean and convenient. The menu offers a good variety of food and drinks, and the quality is better than expected for a chain restaurant. Even close to closing time, they are accommodating, but due to its popularity, it can get fully booked and you may end up being turned away, which can be a bit disappointing. The interior is nice, the food is tasty, and the prices are reasonable, so I would definitely visit again when in the area.

We went out with our family on a Sunday night. It was not crowded, almost empty, and we were able to relax comfortably. They had a special menu for their anniversary, with appetizers priced around 400 yen. We ordered grilled edamame and broad beans, fried kisu fish, and umaki. We also ordered daikon salad, chicken wing dumplings, assorted grilled chicken skewers, grilled rice balls, oboro tofu, and tekka maki. We also tried the Tajima beef and cheese croquette. The food arrived quickly and the kisu fish was hot and delicious, while the edamame and broad beans were comforting. The umaki was a bit small but the eel and egg combination was enjoyable. The chicken wing dumplings had a unique taste that could use a bit more clarity. The skewer assortment had mostly meat, with one sandfish skewer. The sweet sauce went well with beer. The grilled rice balls could have been a bit better. The oboro tofu and tekka maki were good. The Tajima beef croquette could have had a stronger meat flavor.

"Suishin" in Hiroshima is a combination of a kama-meshi restaurant and an izakaya (serving Hiroshima cuisine), but this place seems to be an izakaya with Kyoto-style obanzai dishes as well. Truly a Kyoto izakaya. While the izakaya "Suishin" in Hiroshima is moderately priced, this place seems quite reasonable based on the menu. The atmosphere is calm and doesn't feel like a chain restaurant. This makes the prices feel even more affordable. The ambiance of this place in Kyoto seems much better than the one in Hiroshima, which feels more rural. Kyoto is indeed a city of longing for us Kanto residents... But Hiroshima is also very nice in its own way. There seems to be no connection between the Hiroshima sake "Suishin" and the izakaya "Suishin" in Hiroshima, so there's no need to compare this place with the one in Hiroshima. Many izakayas have names based on sake brands, so that might be the case here. The logos of the sake "Suishin" and this izakaya "Suishin" are the same, so perhaps it's a way of saying "we have Suishin." But why Hiroshima sake in Kyoto, when Fushimi is a sake district in Kyoto? The three major sake districts in Japan are "Nada," "Fushimi," and Hiroshima's "Saijo." It seems like a kind of rivalry... Although they are considered the top three, Hiroshima sake from Saijo seems to be lacking in recent years. I hope they will do better. I also want the people of Kyoto to try Hiroshima sake at this place. I visited here for a second round, so I didn't order much food, but everything was delicious and very affordable. Plus, the shochu is cheap! "Kenhachi" is only 450 yen per glass!! And Tomi no Hozan is also cheap!! Why are both the drinks and food so affordable here? The place is clean and it's a great restaurant. I want to come back again. Next time, I'll take my time."

I stayed at a nearby hotel during G.W's trip to Kyoto, so I stopped by for dinner. It was the day we went to Amanohashidate after arriving in Kyoto, so it was quite a distance and late, and I was exhausted. I was worried about going to a chain restaurant directly connected to the station because they are often noisy and the food is not great, and especially because I was alone. But in the end, it was a good decision to go in. There weren't many group tourists due to the late holiday hours, and I could relax with a few foreign tourists or small groups of local company employees, or solo diners like me. The staff were all friendly and efficient, so I could leisurely enjoy my meal. Even though it had been almost 9 hours since I last ate lunch, every dish was delicious. I chose the green onion for the pork okonomiyaki, which was definitely the right choice. The trio of simmered dishes - meat and potatoes, daikon radish, and eggplant - was especially delicious. I would love to eat it again. There are still many restaurants I want to visit in Kyoto next time, but if I have trouble with time constraints, I might come back here again.
