The third stop! For lunch on the second day, I chose the restaurant "Takasegawa Maaki". Their specialty is natural red snapper from Uwajima served over rice. They offer course meals as well, but this time I went for their most popular option, the lunch set of Natural Red Snapper Uwajima Red Snapper Rice Bowl (2,530 yen per person) by making a reservation in advance. Another reason I chose this restaurant is the beautiful cherry blossoms along the river near the restaurant. As expected, the cherry blossoms were stunning, and surprisingly, there were a lot of people there. Perhaps because of that, the restaurant was bustling with activity. Customers without reservations were waiting outside one after another. I'm glad I made a reservation (^▽^;) By the way, the restaurant has a rating of 3.13 on Tabelog (as of March 2022). The reviews seem decent, but for some reason, the restaurant has a low score! We entered the restaurant at the reserved time of 11:30. I ordered a "Mikan Chuhai" drink. When we waited for about 10 minutes, the rice in a wooden tub was served first, followed by the red snapper rice set. The red snapper soaked in broth, egg yolk, wasabi, miso soup, and a seasonal side dish (blanched radish) were also served. I first tried a bit of the red snapper, then added it to the rice and poured some broth. For the second serving, I added the remaining red snapper and egg to make a rice bowl with egg and red snapper. It was delicious! The red snapper was extremely tasty! They claim it's "naturally caught with one line," and it shows. It's the kind of high-quality red snapper you would expect from a high-class Japanese restaurant! A few years ago, I lined up to eat red snapper rice at a famous restaurant in Kyoto, and I think this red snapper here is much tastier... It might be a matter of preference... Returning to the story... It was so delicious that I ordered an extra serving of just the red snapper. I had another portion. It's nice that you can order additional servings in small increments (^^♪ Please refer to the menu photos. However, the side dish, like the blanched radish, didn't taste as good to me (^^; So, the red snapper rice is undeniably delicious, but as for other dishes... I'll have to try them next time... They do offer course meals up to 16,500 yen (including tax), so I'd like to challenge that if I have the chance (~_~;) For now, it seems like I made a good choice of restaurant (^O^) The low-score delicious restaurant search tour. So far, it's going well with satisfactory results! I'm heading to the final restaurant now (~o~) Thank you for the meal.
