I had always been curious about this restaurant. I knew of its existence because it's close to where I live, but today was my first visit. I tried the pan-fried dumplings, boiled dumplings, and crispy dumplings. The crispy dumplings had thick skin and lots of meat. If you're going to eat pan-fried dumplings, the crispy dumplings are the way to go. The satisfaction level is different.

A dumpling restaurant located on the east side of the street going up from Enmachi intersection. I had been curious about this place for a while and finally got to visit. This time, I only had the dumplings, but there were many other appealing menu items, so I would like to try them next time.

I saw a sign that simply said "Gyoza no Mori" (Gyoza Forest) in a narrow alley, so I thought there must be a gyoza restaurant there. I decided to check it out. The place was small with only a counter, and it seemed like the owner, a woman, was handling everything herself. She was busy making gyoza. Surprisingly, the menu was quite extensive! I thought they only served gyoza, but I was pleasantly surprised. They even had boiled gyoza! The handwritten menu also recommended their "homemade pork cutlet sandwich (delicious!)" and seemed to really push their beef cutlet as well. I ordered boiled gyoza, a plain shochu highball, and some grated yam. It was quite filling. The grated yam was piled high. The boiled gyoza was soft and juicy. They also had a variety of noodles on the menu, so I definitely want to come back to try more dishes. The owner seemed knowledgeable about whiskey too, as they had quite a selection of whiskey, which was interesting.

This is a small restaurant located a few minutes' walk from Enmachi Station on the JR Sagano Line. It is run by two women and the menu seems to have a mix of Taiwanese, Japanese, and Western dishes. The handwritten menu adds a nice touch to the place. They serve Sapporo draft beer for 450 yen and freshly squeezed grapefruit chu-hai for the same price. The grapefruit chu-hai comes with half a grapefruit that you squeeze yourself, making it very refreshing. The meal starts with a homemade pumpkin stew, which is delicious and has a homemade feel to it. The pan-fried dumplings with homemade miso sauce are crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside, with a hint of Chinese influence. The boiled pork with miso sauce is thickly sliced and has a rich flavor, with a spicy miso sauce that gives it a Taiwanese twist. The assorted pickles were not the typical Kyoto-style pickles, but they were homemade and tasty. The menu also includes dishes like omurice and katsu sandwich, making it an interesting place to visit. Overall, it feels more like a homemade diner than just a dumpling shop, with most dishes made in-house.

When you head east on the first street north of Enmachi, you will be greeted by a red tent. The sign says the dumplings are delicious, and they truly are. Whether you try the pan-fried dumplings, boiled dumplings, crispy dumplings, fried pork, fried rice, or mixed noodles, everything is delicious because it's all homemade by the owner. Besides the dumplings, I highly recommend the fried pork! The flavor is amazing, and it goes perfectly with highball. They open at 4 o'clock, so if you want to take your time, I recommend going early. Thank you for the meal.

I'm a repeat customer. Everything I eat here is cheap and delicious. The fried rice is especially outstanding ♡ It's far from my house, but I've been there three times in two months haha. I'm starting to want to go again soon ♡

The owner is friendly, and there are many dishes other than dumplings, which are home-cooked. Sometimes, they have temporary closures, which can be disappointing if it happens at a bad time.

I love dumplings, and after seeing my followers recommend this place, I decided to check it out. It's located near Enmachi Station, just off the main street. There is a coin parking lot nearby. The restaurant was full, so I waited for about 15 minutes on the terrace outside. I ordered dumplings, Taiwanese maze soba, and grilled pork. The dumplings had a Taiwanese flair to them. The staff, two women, were very friendly. I want to come back to try other menu items as well. It was a delicious meal!
