At the North Kyuuzan Pier where the Maritime Self-Defense Force Maizuru Regional Base is located, you can tour the ships (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 9:00 to 16:00). On this day, we were lucky to visit the Aegis ship 'Atago'. It was a lucky day. Seeing the ships up close is impressive and the scenery is huge! After the tour, we went for a drive and along the way, there is the Repatriation Memorial Hall. It seems to be managed by Kansai Electric Power. Maizuru Shinminato Park, where the 'El Mar Maizuru' is anchored, has a fishing village revitalization center, a sea fishing area, a sports field, an interaction area, a restaurant, etc., but it is very small (laughs). There were a few people fishing. I even saw an old man walking with an octopus! (I regret not taking a picture!) First, we visited the inside of the ship (free except for the planetarium). Since it is a small ship, we were able to go around quickly. There were models of luxury cruise ships and exhibits. There were many descriptions related to the Titanic. The observation deck is quite small. Today was a windy day, so the ship was rocking a lot, and the air conditioning inside the ship was very hot, making me feel sick, so we quickly left. Next to it, we went to 'Bayside Place M's Deli' for a cup of tea. Hot coffee and milk tea. Both for 350 yen, which is a reasonable price. Well, the taste is... normal, but it feels delicious in the atmosphere. When you order a drink, you get a thin 'rusk' as a service. A little service is always appreciated. There were families there, but it's a good atmosphere for a date while looking at the sea. The shop is also clean. In addition to using the café, they also have lunch, dinner, and party menus. Once you come this far, there are no other shops around, so you are drawn in and end up going in. *If you have children, I recommend 'Uotchi-kan' in Miyazu, which is also run by Kansai Electric Power. They have a fish touch pool and exhibition rooms, and it's also free (but the aquarium is paid). I think it's more fun and enjoyable for children to play there.
