Visited on April 20, 2023, at 7:00 PM. I made a reservation by phone the day before at "Fisherman's Hut," known for serving fresh and delicious dishes mainly using locally caught seafood in Maizuru. I had been in Maizuru for three days after moving from Fukui City, and this day was the first day I could post without revealing that I use Tabelog. Unfortunately, I couldn't take photos because I was dining with business associates. Starting my rehabilitation in earnest today, I walked from the hotel at a leisurely pace, taking about 20 minutes to cover a kilometer, like a five-year-old child, with breaks in between. It was quite a distance, so my legs were sore, but I'm happy to be able to post again. For drinks, I had a glass of draft beer (Asahi Premium Jukusen) for ¥550 and then a cold sake (Miyasaka) for ¥640. For food, I had the following recommended dishes: "Maizuru-produced!! Extra-large Rock Oysters" for ¥1,200, which were incredibly delicious but disappeared in one bite. The "Sashimi Assortment for One" for ¥1,080 included bonito, tuna, salmon, sea bream, and flounder. While I was hoping for local specialties, the taste was good. The "Raw Botan Shrimp" for ¥980 was small and button-like, sweet and sticky, and came with fried heads, making it a recommended dish. The "Extra-Thick! Swordfish Simmered" for ¥1,300 was recommended when I was considering having simmered fish. The staff explained that there were larger fish available that day, and the swordfish was a good alternative. The simmered swordfish was delicious. I also ordered the "Simmered Fish Head" for ¥680, as it was the only option besides swordfish for solo diners. It turned out to be a hit, with thick simmered sea bream heads providing a satisfying and delicious meal. Lastly, I had the "Specialty of Fisherman's Hut! Tango Bara Sushi" for ¥680, a vinegar rice topped with minced mackerel, which was also delicious. The cost performance was a bit questionable, but the taste was undeniably great. Thank you for the meal.
