I visited for the first time and was planning to try the matcha soft serve crepe with what looked like bracken rice cake, but it wasn't on the menu. I ended up ordering the recommended matcha crepe from the shop. It arrived quickly after a 3-minute wait. The crepe dough was chewy and delicious, but I felt it was a bit small for 600 yen. The staff were not rude, but they lacked friendliness and there was no "thank you" at the end. If they are in the customer service industry, it wouldn't hurt to smile a bit more, I guess (lol). The taste was decently good, but it's the price of a tourist spot, haha.

It's the well-known crepe shop, Sanjaya. I always have a hard time choosing from their extensive menu! I tend to always go for the caramel options, so this time I ordered the Black Honey Kinako Soft (mixed soft) and Banana Caramel Soft (vanilla soft). They serve the crepes quickly so you can eat them right away. They're cheap, delicious, and I hope they stay the same forever!

Since I was a student, I have been going to this cheap crepe shop! I used to pass by it often, but recently a friend told me about their matcha crepe that has been buzzing on Instagram, so I decided to visit after a long time. The prices have gone up a bit, but it's still cheap - I got two Uji matcha crepes for 450 yen each. It was a weekday, but there was a slight wait. My friend and I enjoyed our freshly made crepes by the Kamo River. The matcha flavor in the crepe wasn't very strong, but the fresh cream was delicious. The sweet red bean paste was a nice touch. However, the rice cakes with white bean paste were too powdery and heavy. They felt like solidified wheat flour. I don't recommend the ones with white bean paste. Overall, I left feeling full!

This crepe shop is open until 8 pm and relatively late. The crepes are over 500 yen and on the smaller side. They have less cream cheese and are filled with whipped cream to make up for it. The strawberries inside have a mushy texture and lack freshness, and the crepe itself is powdery and disappointing.

- Freshly baked crepes with a chewy texture starting from 350 yen. I found a matcha hidden menu crepe on Instagram and decided to try it. I saw a long line in front of the shop last time, so I gave up. This time, there was no line, so I seized the opportunity to try it!
- Matcha Crepe 500 yen (tax included): A crepe made with matcha kneaded into the dough and topped with matcha powder, creating a vivid green color. Under the matcha powder, there was a smooth matcha cream. The powder had a slightly bitter taste, creating a nice contrast. The dough was chewy like mochi, allowing you to enjoy the matcha flavor until the last bite. Highly recommended for matcha lovers!

I thought they had moved nearby, but I wonder if it's okay here? It's a popular crepe shop. I was undecided, but I chose soft serve ice cream. Hmm, as a local, well... it was a very common and safe taste. It wasn't ridiculously expensive, so that was good!

I was determined to finally try the 350 yen crepe, but when I arrived, all the crepes were priced at 380 yen. There were plenty of 350 yen crepes available, but I ended up compromising and choosing the 380 yen crepe. Just so you know, crepes with soft serve ice cream cost over 500 yen. If you want the crepe batter to be matcha flavored, there will be an additional charge. I later realized that you can change the whipped cream to custard cream. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, with customers coming in non-stop. The outdoor bench that was there last time was gone, so I had to eat while standing. The trash cans were located in front of the shop, so I ate standing next to the shop and threw away my trash before leaving. However, the space was very smoky due to cigarette smell. There is a construction site behind the tall wall, so maybe people were smoking there. The area around Rokkaku Street, west of Kawaramachi Street, was overall dirty and noisy, so I also rated the atmosphere low. It's a small space, so it might be difficult to add seating, but I wish there was a place to sit and eat. Strawberry Banana Chocolate Crepe (380 yen) The crepe batter was chilled, so it may have been pre-made. The bottom was moist, but the top was dry, which is somewhat unavoidable, but I still felt that the crepe batter was average for the price. The fresh cream, strawberries, and bananas were all generously filled, which was nice. The strawberries weren't fresh (which is expected given the season and price), but they were sweet and delicious. However, I still think a crepe with delicious crepe batter would be better. Perhaps changing it to matcha batter would make it tastier.

In this era of price hikes, I chose the most expensive Crème Brûlée crepe for 530 yen at a crepe shop where there are many crepes available for 350 yen. The shop had a picture on display with a spoon scooping the Brûlée part, but the actual crepe did not come with a spoon. There were two long benches next to the shop (exposed to the elements) and a trash can right in front of the shop, so I ate there and immediately disposed of the trash after finishing. The crepe dough was soft, with plenty of whipped cream inside, so I had to be careful not to spill it when biting into it. Under the Brûlée, there was plenty of whipped cream, a hint of custard, strawberry sauce, and pie. I didn't particularly like the crepe dough, but it was a satisfying crepe with plenty of toppings. I would like to try a 350 yen crepe next time (there are so many types to choose from!).

After having lunch in Kawaramachi Marutamachi, I was wandering around Kawaramachi when I spotted a crepe shop and decided to stop by. At first, I was just looking at the menu, but I was really intrigued by the Black Sesame Pudding Ice Cream Crepe (500 yen) and decided to buy it. You can choose between matcha, vanilla, or a mix for the ice cream flavor. The menu has a wide variety of options, so it takes some time to choose (haha). I think it's really good value for the price. Thank you for the meal!

I felt like having matcha crepe, so I went to a crepe shop in Kawaramachi that I had seen on Instagram and was curious about. There were so many options to choose from, but I prefer ice cream over whipped cream, so I changed the whipped cream to matcha soft serve ice cream! The ice cream part was sweet, but the crepe itself had a nice matcha flavor that I enjoyed! And all of this for only 550 yen is too cheap (ˆωˆ) My matcha craving is satisfied! I've passed by this shop many times before but never bought anything, what a waste... I'll definitely buy it again (;;)

One of my favorite crepes that I have tried while eating out is the matcha crepe. They have other menu options besides matcha, but my absolute favorite is the "matcha strawberry" crepe. For an additional 50 yen, you can customize the crepe batter to be matcha flavored. The batter has a strong matcha flavor and a chewy texture that you can enjoy. The matcha cream inside has a good balance of sweetness and matcha, and when mixed with the acidity of the strawberries, it creates the perfect harmony! I have come here with friends and relatives before, and they all agree that the matcha strawberry crepe is delicious. I have tried matcha crepes at other shops, but both my friends and I concluded that "Hmm, the ones at Sanjya are clearly tastier." I prefer less whipped cream, so I asked for mine to be made with half the usual amount, which is why the crepe in the photo looks a bit less voluminous. The staff kindly offered to change the whipped cream to custard since I mentioned that I'm not a big fan of whipped cream, but I opted for less whipped cream. Maybe custard would be tasty too.

At "Mugen Shokudo," I had some shumai and mapo tofu, which got my engine running. The "Seafood Mapo Men" was decently sized, but I probably should have just stuck with the shumai. As I was heading towards Nishiki Market, Y-chan stopped at a sweets shop called "Sanjya Kawaramachi Main Store," specializing in freshly baked crepes. I don't have much experience with crepes, but with Y-chan's interest piqued, I decided to satisfy my hunger. The menu had a wide variety of options, making it difficult to choose. I ended up ordering the "Cream Cheese Brulee Crepe," which looked absolutely delicious. After a short wait, I received the crepe and took a bite. The rich cream cheese, combined with whipped cream and custard, created a decadent filling. Dried strawberries added a sweet and tangy flavor that complemented the creamy filling. The crispy brulee topping provided a nice contrast in texture and added a hint of bitterness and nuttiness. The crepe itself was chewy and substantial. I devoured the delicious brulee crepe in just a couple of minutes, despite not being a regular sweets eater. It was so good that I might just get hooked on crepes!

On Sunday at 12:51, I arrived at Jyasan after having lunch and taking a leisurely stroll. Even though I was full, my daughter and I decided to share a Cream Cheese Brulee for 500 yen. After ordering, it was made and handed to us. I thought it would be hot, but the brulee part had a crispy texture which was enjoyable. There was no seating area so we ate it on the spot. My daughter and I had a fun time enjoying it. Thank you for the meal.

Yesterday and today, the sun has been shining strongly, making it feel like summer has suddenly arrived. I tried to walk in the shade, but the heat was still intense, so I ended up drinking beer and eating soft serve ice cream. There are many options on the menu here, but I went with my favorite, soft serve ice cream. I ate it all in one go before it could melt. Even if my head felt a bit woozy and my tongue went a bit numb, eating soft serve ice cream in one go is always special.

I went to a freshly baked crepe specialty shop called Sanjiya with my friends. We ordered and tried the Cream Cheese Brulee Crepe, and it was so exciting to see what it would taste like. The outside was crispy and crunchy with caramel, while the inside had creamy cream cheese and cream that was fluffy and creamy. The crispy texture of the pie, fresh strawberries, and various flavors made it a delicious crepe. Another crepe we tried was the Strawberry Chocolate Banana with plenty of cream, which was also delicious. There are many different types of crepes to choose from, which makes it even more enjoyable.

I had a snack at Sanjiya♥ Cream Cheese Brulee for 500 yen. It was a cream cheese brulee crepe that was only available for a limited time. I was excited to try it out! The weekday was not very busy, so the one staff member was handling everything efficiently and served me quickly. They torched the surface just before serving, so it was crispy on the outside. The cream cheese and whipped cream inside were creamy and fluffy. The filling included whipped cream, custard, cream cheese, strawberries, and pie. It was a luxurious treat with a crispy pie and real strawberry fruit that offered a variety of flavors. Besides sweet crepes, they also had savory options, like natto rice. There was no seating area inside, so it might be a bit inconvenient on rainy days. Overall, a delicious crepe experience at Sanjiya!

After lunch, I went to Sanjaya for some sweets. I was surprised by the variety of the menu and the reasonable prices. I couldn't decide what to order, so I went with the shop's recommendation of creme brulee and banana-strawberry-chocolate soft crepe. It was a weekday, so the staff was handling everything by themselves, but they were quick and soon served us freshly baked items. The creme brulee had a crispy caramel on top, with cream cheese, whipped cream, custard, strawberries, and pie underneath. It was a generous portion with a mix of flavors. The crepe was also very indulgent, with fresh bananas, matcha and vanilla soft serve, strawberries, and chocolate sauce. There were corn flakes at the bottom. You can choose from vanilla, matcha, or a mix for the crepe soft serve. I was already full after enjoying the crepe. They also have savory items on the menu, so it could be a good snack option as well. I would definitely like to visit again.

I stopped by because I was intrigued by the Crème Brûlée Crepe. Not only the top part with the brûlée, but also the bottom part with crispy cookies and berries was delicious. It was more impressive than a regular crepe and I think it's a good value for the money. It's easy to stop by and reasonably priced, which is a plus.

Sanjiya Kyoto Main Store, a freshly baked crepe specialty shop, had a limited-time offer that caught my attention. First, they bake the crepe for you. I ordered the Cream Brulee Crepe, which was then torched using a burner. Since it's a take-out shop, I enjoyed it with my friends at a corner in front of the store. The caramel had a crispy texture and a delicious aroma. Inside, there was plenty of cream cheese, whipped cream, custard, strawberries, and pie. It was not overly sweet and very tasty, allowing us to enjoy it without getting tired of it. It's available on Ubereats, but the texture and taste of the freshly made crepe are something you can't experience through delivery, making the limited-time offer worth it. It was so delicious that I shared another item with my friends. We also tried the Matcha Parfait, which uses matcha from the dough to the cream. You can choose between vanilla and matcha-flavored cream. It also contains red bean paste and mochi, embodying the best of Kyoto. Red bean paste and matcha go well together. With the crepes from Sanjiya Main Store, I felt like I was enjoying both the traditional and modern faces of Kyoto. Both items were delicious, and my friends and I walked around for a bit to burn off the sweets. Despite the few tourists, my friends, who are born and raised in Kyoto, took me through the back alleys where hardly anyone passes by. Sanjiya Kyoto Main Store is located at 595 Ura Teramachi, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, a 5-minute walk from Kawaramachi Station.

My top recommendation is the Crème Brûlée Crepe from Sanjiya-san (^。^) This crepe is heated with a burner just before serving, so you can only enjoy it fresh and hot (^^) It's a truly luxurious crepe! Sanjiya-san offers a wide variety of crepes, including savory options for those who don't like sweet treats. This time, I also tried the Cheese Hot Dog Crepe and the Condensed Milk Strawberry Soft Serve Crepe. They were both delicious, with lots of chewy mochi inside. The gentle flavor of the whipped cream made me indulge in two crepes! The fillings were generous and the crepe was thin and easy to eat (^。^)
