I stopped by Kyoto for work and couldn't get into the restaurant I wanted, so I searched near my hotel. I found a little-known yakiniku restaurant with high Google Maps ratings and reasonable prices, so I visited without a reservation. The young owner, Daisuke, runs the small and clean restaurant. You can see him polishing and cutting the meat in the open kitchen from the customer seats. I've tried various yakiniku restaurants nationwide, but I think this one is of a very high standard. The special Wagyu fillet for 2,900 yen, eaten with wasabi soy sauce, may have been the best meat I've had this year. It might have even been better than the Matsusaka beef fillet steak I had in Ise the day before. I also had Omi beef kalbi and fresh liver, both of which were of almost 100-name store quality. The cost performance is really high. They don't advertise on Tabelog, but it seems that foreign tourists visiting Kyoto are starting to become their main customers based on Google reviews. It's a shame not to introduce this restaurant to foreigners.

During my trip to Kyoto in September 2023, I wanted to have a meal with a meat main dish, so I chose a restaurant after considering various options. I made a reservation over the phone about a month ago. The restaurant is located around halfway between Omiya Station and Karasuma Station, but I took a bus from Kawaramachi Sanjo to Shijo Horikawa, and it was only about 30 seconds from the bus stop. The reason I chose this restaurant was because I saw it on YouTube. The couple running the place seemed very friendly, and the prices were reasonable, plus the grilled meat looked delicious. Here is what I ordered:

The quality of the meat was excellent, and it was all delicious. In particular, the well-marbled upper harami and the flavorful upper kalbi were outstanding. Although it's a small restaurant, the service was very polite and pleasant. The staff was incredibly polite even when I made the reservation over the phone, so I felt at ease visiting the restaurant. It lived up to my expectations as a fantastic yakiniku restaurant. The cost performance of the meat was quite high, and it was a yakiniku restaurant that I would love to visit regularly if it were in Yokohama or Tokyo. There seemed to be quite a few regular customers, so as a first-time visitor, you might feel a bit out of place, but the staff is kind and the meat is wonderful, so I recommend visiting if you have the chance. It's a restaurant that requires reservations, so don't forget to make one! Thank you for the delicious meal.

I heard that they offer good quality meat here, and my first visit was for a course with all-you-can-drink option. As I am at an age where I prefer to try a variety of high-quality meats in smaller portions, this course was perfect for me. The quality of the meat, as well as the kimchi and yukhoe served as appetizers, was excellent and the freshness really stood out. The homemade ice cream served after the meal was a nice touch. It was clear that they have a concept of wanting to provide good quality ingredients. The owner couple and the staff were all very friendly. I was particularly impressed when the owner greeted a staff member who came in a little late with a cheerful "Good morning. Thank you." It made me happy just witnessing that interaction. The genuine smiles of the staff seemed to reflect the positive attitude of the owners. The restaurant is not very spacious but it is clean, and they have managed to create a cozy and private atmosphere. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

It had been a while since I went to a yakiniku restaurant. I made a reservation for a birthday meat platter instead of a birthday cake, wanting to surprise my partner. The restaurant went above and beyond, involving other customers in the surprise and even singing a birthday song. It was a bit embarrassing, but it made for a great birthday. I enjoyed trying different cuts of beef, and all the meats were fresh and delicious. I would love to visit again for a regular meal. Thank you so much!

We came with 4 people. We are of a certain age, so we didn't plan on eating too much, but the food was light and we ended up eating quite a bit. It was delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We went on a Friday and were told that reservations were full for 7 pm. I'm not sure about weekdays, but I think it's better to make a reservation if you plan on visiting on the weekend.

This is a shop that I have been curious about for a while. The owner trained at a famous restaurant, and the atmosphere of the shop, run by the couple, was so cozy. ★Green onion kimchi I picked on this while waiting for the meat. ★Upper tongue I think it's a cut from the middle to the tip of the tongue. It's good even if cooked on one side. I enjoyed it rare. ★Wagyu yukhoe They have permission to serve raw meat, which is great. The balance of lean meat and fat is good, and you can taste the sweetness and umami. ★Wagyu thick-cut kalbi The quality of the meat is really good. It's quite cost-effective. It was fun to cook. It was rare and tender inside, with a crispy surface. ★Wagyu chateaubriand This thick piece of meat is cheap. I cooked it a bit rare. The kalbi was good, but I like the unique tenderness of the filet. ★Tomato namul It's not too strong in flavor, and easy to eat as a palate cleanser. ★Omi beef prime kalbi Beautiful marbling. The fat is not overwhelming, with just the right amount of red meat. ★Wagyu prime harami Dark-colored harami. Not too tough, which is good. I tried it well-done and lightly cooked. It's delicious. And cheap. ★Kujyo negi tempura The meat is good. It's not frozen, so it's thickly cut and has a great texture. The green onion sauce is irresistible. Cook it wrapped in the onion, and steam the inside of the onion. ★Hoso Puri and the sauce is delicious ★Heart steak Interesting. I've been to various yakiniku places, but this was my first heart steak. Cook it all around, sear the surface, and leave the inside rare. The staff takes care of the hassle. The meat has a chewy texture, which makes the dining experience satisfying. ★Tail soup The refreshing soup is perfect for finishing the meal. ★Special Daisuke cold noodles Simple cold noodles. The noodles and the gentle broth were good. ★Rich vanilla Vanilla made by the wife. It's delicious, the packaging is cute, and there's a good amount. I found a great yakiniku restaurant. 3.06

The atmosphere of the restaurant is not like a typical yakiniku place, making it easy to enter. The meat is high-quality wagyu beef, and on this day we had Omi beef. The upper harami had a nice texture with a chewy lean meat and a meaty flavor. The upper kalbi had a good amount of marbling without being too fatty, making it easy to eat. It is a type of yakiniku where you dip the meat in a broth-like sauce and eat it, known as Kyoto-style yakiniku. I think it's a restaurant with good value for the quality of the meat. The cafe-like appearance, along with the extremely friendly service most likely stemming from the owners' personalities, make this place stand out. However, don't be fooled - the yakiniku here is incredibly authentic. The quality of the meat, particularly the Omi beef, is outstanding for this price. Their unique approach to other dishes is enjoyable and well-executed. I've found a gem of a restaurant!

I finally managed to make a reservation after being rejected several times because it just opened recently, and I went there! I was able to go on the same day reservation. I recommend making a reservation by phone because it is often difficult to go directly to the store. The yakiniku restaurant offers hormone meat as well as lean meat. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very cozy, and it seems like a couple runs it. They were always smiling and seemed to get along well. It was a comfortable place to be. The meat was also delicious. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal.

I heard about a trendy new yakiniku restaurant and decided to visit with my spouse for a rare dinner outing. It was nice to be able to enjoy sitting at the counter at a yakiniku restaurant! The kitchen utensils were carefully selected and placed around, and the visually appealing marbled meat allowed us to fully appreciate it. We had the chef's choice set, a few individual items, cold noodles, and ice cream for dessert. The meat was seasoned with salt, sauce, or a special marinade, and we were recommended delicious ways to eat each cut. Every type of meat was incredibly tasty. We especially enjoyed the meat marinated in a fruit sauce, which I think was called hanamomo. The interior of the restaurant was lovely, but what really made our dinner enjoyable was the bright and friendly atmosphere created by the owner couple. Also, I was surprised that my knit sweater didn't smell at all, which made me think that the smoke ventilation and exhaust system must be very effective!

We traveled from Tokyo with my wife and our 4-year-old and 2-year-old children for sightseeing, and the experience was just as good as we had hoped for in Tokyo. The staff were friendly and provided great service, and our children were very happy with the unlimited juice they could drink.
