Ukumaru "Ikkakujuu" Today, once again, it's okonomiyaki time at "Ikkakujuu". This time, we went to the one in Shijo Shinmachi for a year-end party. It had been a while since our last visit in the summer. The restaurant had tatami seating and a large number of seats, offering a variety of dishes other than okonomiyaki, making it a great place for drinking parties. There were five of us this time, and we had a great time eating, drinking, and having fun! The appetizer of thick fried tofu was delicious. The Stamina Yaki with Omi beef tenderloin and Kujo green onions for 1000 yen was a hit. The tender beef with plenty of Kujo green onions was so delicious that we fought over it. In other words, the hormone was mine. The Cabbage Steak with Cheese White Sauce for 1100 yen, which I recommended, was also delicious. The soft cabbage with special cheese sauce was a highlight. The Kyoto Yuba Okonomiyaki for 1580 yen was a unique okonomiyaki made with yuba, using minced potatoes and rice flour to create a sticky batter wrapped in yuba. We enjoyed changing the flavor with black shichimi pepper. The New Town Green Onion Yaki (Mixed) for 1050 yen was my recommendation. The amount of green onions was extraordinary. The mix of pork, squid, shrimp, and plenty of green onions with a dashi flavor was also delicious. The Plenty of Shrimp Mayo for 1000 yen was so tasty that I wanted to lick the rich mayonnaise sauce until the end. The Yakisoba Extra Large (Pork) for 1100 yen was a sure bet. The Sand Lizard for 790 yen was a large lizard, not too hard, just right. The Grilled Vegetable Assortment for 1100 yen, which I ordered for the first time, was recommended. The fire-cooked vegetables such as green beans, lotus root, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, and zucchini brought out the sweetness of the ingredients. With so many varieties, there were no complaints. The Hara mi Teppanyaki for 1100 yen kept the party going. The tare-grilled beef belly went well with beer. The Hiroshima Oyster Escargot Butter for 1100 yen featured large oysters with escargot butter. It made me crave wine. The Teppan Aijo (Oyster and Tomato) for 1100 yen + Baguette for 150 yen featured two consecutive oyster dishes. The latter half with oyster-flavored olive oil and baguette was a sure hit. The Salt Yakisoba (Pork) for 990 yen was a light yakisoba to finish off the meal. The positioning of salt and sauce, and yakisoba. The salt yakisoba was easy to eat even at this point. The Garlic Rice for 900 yen was a garlic rice with a strong garlic flavor! Don't worry about bad breath, as we have the day off tomorrow. Eating and drinking heartily, it cost less than 5000 yen per person. It was a great value for money.
