The title ended up being full of "Mont Blanc"!! I heard that the original Mont Blanc shop in Japan, "Mont Blanc," will end its current store operations on December 31st at 4:00 pm, so I decided to visit early. They will be operating in a temporary store from February 10th, but it seems that the cafe will not be in operation there, so early visits may be better for those interested in the cafe. "Mont Blanc (MONT-BLANC)" is located a short walk from Jiyugaoka Station. The shop will be closing its store operations here due to redevelopment in the area. The surroundings of the shop have a retro atmosphere of various Western confectionery stores. This shop is known for being the first to sell Mont Blanc in Japan in 1933. Upon entering the shop, there is a store, and the cafe is located at the back. This time, I will have tea here. Currently, the usage time is limited to 1 hour. There are quite a few seats, but it seems that the number of seats has been reduced slightly due to the current situation. The interior of the shop is adorned with many paintings by the painter Seiji Togo. There were more paintings displayed towards the back, so I chose a seat towards the back (please note that there may be rearrangements). Some of the women have lovely expressions, while others have an enchanting atmosphere. With these women watching over me, I want to enjoy tea in a slightly retro table and chair setting. Inside the shop, you can enjoy cakes and baked goods for sale with drinks. Of course, I ordered the "Mont Blanc" cake. After ordering, the cake was brought to me. The "Mont Blanc" costs 867 yen. The yellow chestnut cream on top gives it a nostalgic Mont Blanc feel. The meringue on top is quite large. The chestnut cream uses chestnuts from Ehime Prefecture. It is quite sweet, but the sweetness is subdued, allowing you to taste the chestnuts. The meringue is crispy and chewy. Underneath is a fluffy and creamy buttercream. It is delicious. Between the chestnut cream and the sponge is a buttercream-like layer that I didn't realize was buttercream when I was eating it. The sponge is fluffy and blends well, with sweet chestnut compote and a gentle custard cream inside. (I apologize for the messy cross-section). I enjoyed the original Mont Blanc. I think that these types of Mont Blanc that I ate when I was a child were sweeter (to be honest, I didn't like Mont Blanc when I was a child). This Mont Blanc is also sweet, but the sweetness is not strange, but a flavorful sweetness that allows you to taste the deliciousness of chestnuts. After enjoying a wonderful tea time, I spent some time admiring the paintings displayed on the wall of the store. This is also worth seeing. I visited during the early hours of a holiday, and the cafe was not crowded, allowing me to relax. I think it may get busier as the closing time approaches, so if you are interested in the cafe, it may be a good idea to visit now. I am also looking forward to what the temporary store will be like and what the new store will be like in four years.

I went to this shop located in front of Jiyugaoka Station, which holds memories of my mother's Showa era. However, when I arrived at the station rotary, I couldn't find the building there. After checking on Tabelog, I found out that the shop had relocated to a place uphill nearby. We bought one Mont Blanc each, totaling four. I think each piece cost around 700-800 yen. When we tried them at home, I must admit that I didn't quite understand the appeal. I'm not sure if they were trying to evoke a sense of nostalgia or recreate the taste of the good old days. The staff were friendly and provided good service, so I don't want to speak badly of them. But my mother didn't mention anything about the taste being nostalgic.

Everyone has seen the "Mont Blanc" at least once. The original shop of Mont Blanc, established in 1933 (Showa 8), is relocating due to redevelopment. Tomorrow, on the 31st, the current store will close. I visited the shop and was impressed by the names of customers celebrating their birthdays written at the entrance. I always thought, "It's nice and heartwarming." It was my first time using the tea room, and I was surprised by how spacious it was with more to explore. The tea room is adorned with paintings by Seiji Togo. The temporary store from 2/10 will not have a tea room (maybe there will be a terrace seat available). I look forward to the new store in four years. As Jiyugaoka evolves, I hope some of the old charm remains in the changing landscape.

I'm not sure if it's true, but this is said to be the first store in Japan to originate Mont Blanc, a Western confectionery. Currently located very close to Jiyugaoka Station, the store is set to relocate by December 31, 2022 due to the redevelopment of this area. Although it will initially be in a temporary location, it will reopen in Jiyugaoka on February 10, 2023 without much delay. The store is quite spacious and includes not only a sales area but also a café space. When we visited just after lunchtime, there wasn't much of a line, but by around 2:30 PM, there was a pretty long line of over 30 people. I wonder if this is because they are about to move or if it's a regular occurrence... The turnover is not very fast, so I wonder what time the people at the back of the line were able to find a seat... We ordered a Mont Blanc and an eclair, choosing based on appearance. Both had a super classic taste, which could be described as comforting or lacking any surprises. Each item costs around 700 yen, which is quite reasonable considering the large size. If you also order coffee, it will be around 3,000 yen for two people. It's easy to see why there are many Jiyugaoka ladies here, and also why there aren't many young people.

Since creating the first Mont Blanc in Japan, the deliciousness has been preserved continuously♪ I went to a shop called "Mont Blanc" near Jiyugaoka Station in Tokyo to have Mont Blanc♪ When I entered the cafe, there was already a line☆ I waited about 20 minutes with 4 groups ahead of me before entering♪ I ordered a Mont Blanc for 867 yen and a Chestnut Luxury Roll for 765 yen, all including tax♪ The Mont Blanc has a castella cake underneath the chestnut cream♪ Maybe this is where it all started♪ Let's dig in! The Mont Blanc uses chestnuts from Ehime prefecture, with flavorful chestnut cream, creamy center, and delicious meringue on top♪ The moist castella cake at the bottom, custard cream, and a big whole chestnut inside♪ The Chestnut Luxury Roll has whole chestnuts in syrup, rich and flavorful chestnut cream, and whipped cream that is rich and delicious♪ Both were delicious♪ Thank you for the meal☆

I visited in the morning, so the restaurant was not crowded. It seemed to have a lot of seating due to its spacious layout. The interior has a slightly retro atmosphere, creating a calm space. I ordered the most popular Mont Blanc and a coffee. The base of the Mont Blanc was a fluffy sponge. It was a lighter type of Mont Blanc, easy to eat and delicious! It may not be Instagram-worthy, but I liked the atmosphere inside the restaurant, so I would like to visit again when I want to relax in Jiyugaoka.

I have been disappointed multiple times by claims of being the "original" or "originator," but this Mont Blanc here is truly satisfying. It has a nostalgic taste but still delicious in this day and age. They will soon be operating in a temporary store due to urban development, but I hope they remain unchanged forever!

Jiyugaoka is undergoing redevelopment, with many narrow paths disappearing. The charming interior will soon be gone as well. There weren't many cakes left in the evening, but I had the Mont Blanc and pudding, both named after the restaurant, to bid farewell. They will be relocating to a slightly different location.

The origin of Mont Blanc in Japan is a store near Jiyugaoka Station, within a 1-minute walk. There is a retro atmosphere shop with a cafe space at the back. It was Sunday at 3 p.m., but there was already a wait of 20 people and the seating time was limited to 1 hour, so I waited for about 30 minutes before being seated. They seem to still be conscious of COVID-19 measures, as they seat you without face-to-face contact. I ordered the Mont Blanc, and about 10 minutes later, it was brought to me along with a cappuccino set. The Mont Blanc, which has remained unchanged since the beginning, features cream resembling mountain skin and meringue representing eternal snow. Unlike what you often see at specialty shops, it has a cute appearance. It felt like a waste to eat it while breaking it apart, but the cream was rich and not overly sweet. The sponge was different from the trendy moist type, being light and slightly dry, reminding me of the sponge I used to eat as a child. Inside the sponge, there was a whole chestnut, which added more volume than it appeared, and I ended up feeling quite full and satisfied. Personally, I found it to be on the sweeter side, so I recommend having it with an espresso. Thank you for the meal.

Established in 1933, this is the original store of Mont Blanc in Japan. There is a spacious dining area, but it seems to be very popular as we had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table to become available. Mont Blanc (789 yen) - 3.2 stars: The chestnut paste from Ehime Prefecture has a hint of chestnut flavor, but it's not very strong. On top, there is a meringue with a slightly refreshing herbal scent. The amount of chestnut paste is not large, but it is complemented by a rich cream chantilly for a satisfying texture. The base is a fluffy castella cake with hidden chestnuts inside, which is delicious. There is a lot of castella cake, making it feel more like a chestnut paste-topped castella cake than a Mont Blanc. Exotic - 3.0 stars: The main component is a tropical-flavored mousse made with passion fruit and mango, but it lacks a sharp sweetness. It's like a traditional fruit cake. Thank you for the meal.

In Jiyugaoka, there is a very famous shop. I thought it was the birthplace of Mont Blanc? The Mont Blanc I had was like the old-fashioned one, and about 90% of it tasted as I had imagined, but I was surprised that the meringue on top had a lemon flavor. The atmosphere was unified and it was a wonderful shop. Due to redevelopment, the current store will close by the end of the year. I'm glad I was able to go there (*^^*).

The Mont Blanc army, waiting for deployment like in Star Wars, is a traditional and famous brand in Jiyugaoka, according to locals. The paper bags designed by the master Togo Seiji from this store are really cool. They also sell eco bags, which are great. The Mont Blanc dessert for 850 yen is sweet and rich in flavor, with a high balance. It didn't used to have meringue on top in the old days. The sponge cake has cream and chestnuts inside. They will be relocating to a temporary store in 2023 due to redevelopment. They also have an eat-in option. Thank you for the meal.

On the way back, I bought snacks for the children at Mont Blanc. When I entered the store, there was a section for take-out cakes and baked goods for gifts. As I walked further inside, there was a cafe. I bought the "Mont Blanc" and the "Chestnut Luxury Roll". Both my eldest daughter and my second daughter wanted to try both, so they decided to share. The Mont Blanc had white meringue on top, and there was a hidden yellow chestnut inside the cup at the bottom! The Chestnut Luxury Roll also had a hidden brown chestnut inside! Both of them were excited to find the chestnuts and enjoyed eating them. I also tried a bite of the luxury roll, and it was delicious with fluffy dough and plenty of chestnut cream. I look forward to autumn sweets like chestnuts and sweet potatoes, which my children and I both love. Thank you for the meal. #JiyugaokaGourmet #JiyugaokaSweets #JiyugaokaCafe #JiyugaokaCake #JiyugaokaMontBlanc #MONT-BLANC #JiyugaokaEstablishedShop #FamousMontBlanc #LuxuryMontBlanc #ChestnutLuxuryRoll

Located about a 2-minute walk from Jiyugaoka Station, this shop is rumored to be the first in Japan to sell Mont Blanc pastries. It has a nostalgic Showa retro atmosphere and is situated right in front of Jiyugaoka Department Store (scheduled to close in 2022 due to redevelopment). The shop will temporarily close in December 2022 and move to a temporary location for a few months. The design is focused on takeout, with the base made of castella cake. The founder's wish is for customers to enjoy the pastries even when taking them home. The Mont Blanc consists of a castella cake with one chestnut and custard cream inside, topped with chestnut cream and white meringue. The taste remains unchanged since the shop's founding, evoking a nostalgic feeling with each bite. It's like a taste of the good old days, reminiscent of a bygone era. This Mont Blanc is a delightful treat to share happiness with others.

While taking a stroll in Jiyugaoka, I passed by the longstanding cake shop "Mont Blanc" and decided to stop for tea. I remembered that Japan's Mont Blanc originated from here. The Mont Blanc cake had a cute appearance with meringue on top, but it was larger than I had expected! The "Kuri Luxury Roll" was also a good size. I wish more modern cakes would follow this elegant style. The shop is located in the redevelopment area in front of Jiyugaoka Station, and they will only be open at this location until the end of this year (2022). They mentioned that they will not have a cafe in the temporary location, so I'm glad I could enjoy their cakes in the nostalgic and historic atmosphere of the original shop.

The Mont Blanc cookie in Jiyugaoka has an elegant taste with a rich jam-like filling. However, it could benefit from a bit less sweetness. The texture is sticky and tends to cling to the back of your teeth, making you crave a drink even more in the summer.

Two men who seemed out of place entered the cafe, haha. Due to COVID, the stay is limited to one hour. The walls were lined with paintings by artist Seiji Togo. I was drawn to the Mont Blanc, but ended up ordering the seasonal mango parfait and a blend. The blend had a nice bitterness to it, which I really liked. The parfait was decent. It's a bit pricey, typical of Jiyugaoka, but it's conveniently located near the station and has a nice, calm atmosphere.

At the cake shop section, they sell Mont Blanc, which seems like a model example (it's the shop where it originated, after all). I ordered the Mont Blanc ice cream version, which is only available for eating in. It's larger and more impressive than the cake. However, the ice cream underneath the chestnut cream is a bit overshadowed by the sweetness of the cream on top. I felt it was a bit too sweet and ended up eating it a bit hurriedly before it melted. I thought maybe the regular Mont Blanc cake with sponge cake would have been better. The eating area was a bit lively and fun. It's a bit pricey, but it was really good.

The first impression is that it is a straightforward place. I knew the name of the store but didn't feel any impact, so I didn't pay much attention to it. I happened to have the opportunity to eat there and tried two types of monaka. The one that I really felt the deliciousness of was the yellow monaka with a nostalgic fruity taste that made me feel the chestnut flavor. It was clearly different from the typical chestnut monaka you find around. I think this is the real deal. The Mont Blanc cream monaka with a refined atmosphere and a chestnut-like taste was delicious, but the impact of the first monaka I tried was strong, and this one felt more fruity. Next time, I want to visit the store myself, see the packaging, and buy some. For now, I feel happy that the traditional popularity was confirmed in the finish, and I was glad.

I felt a sense of history from the store's appearance when I bought an "exotic" cake for a birthday. The atmosphere inside the store and the attire of the staff also gave me a feeling of nostalgia. You can choose between "Happy Birthday" or "誕生日おめでとう" for the message plate, and you can also add a name or additional message. The message plate is made of sugar, which adds to the nostalgic feel. The cake itself is a white chocolate mousse with exotic mousse (passion fruit, mango, apricot), with a balanced acidity. It tastes more like the cakes I used to eat as a child rather than the trendy cakes nowadays.

When it comes to Mont Blanc, you think of Mont Blanc cake! I wasn't confident in taking it home neatly this day, so I bought something other than Mont Blanc. The store was crowded with customers waiting to take their orders home. I bought a leaf pie for 420 yen, grape jelly for 490 yen, and apple mango jelly for 490 yen. It felt a bit pricey for me. Next time, I would like to try Mont Blanc at the cafe.
