On December 29, 2022, after enjoying the "Tentama Soba" at "Kameya" in Omoide Yokocho around noon, we leisurely strolled and arrived here. We headed to the cafe at the back, ignoring the line in front of the showcase. The interior was still empty, and we sat at a table in the back left corner. I had already decided on the "Inaka Komichi" (mitarashi dango, anmitsu, oshiruko). My wife was debating whether to go for the "Aji no Sanpo" (mitarashi dango, anmitsu, tokoroten) but in the end, she also chose the "Inaka Komichi" like me. First, we tried the mitarashi dango. It was soft and had a nice texture. Delicious! Next was the anmitsu. We first savored the "apple," "kiwi," "cherry," and "apricot" served with it. Then we drizzled the honey over it and immersed ourselves in happiness. We requested a refill of tea at this point. Finally, we faced the oshiruko. It was a supreme moment. Since it would be crowded with people seeking oshiruko after the New Year, my decision to come before the year ended was correct, even though no one praised me. I left the shop, patting myself on the back. On February 2, 2019, at 11:15, I felt like I had forgotten something since the beginning of the year. That's right, "I haven't eaten oshiruko." After shopping at "Sekaido," I entered alone. I have had connections to this area since my childhood, but it was my first time entering this shop. There was a door at the back of the shop, and the space was more spacious than I had expected. There were about three groups of customers, all women. The single-seat tables had a comfortable distance from each other. Despite occasionally feeling uneasy about my back, I was able to sit down without any problems. Without looking at the menu, I simply said, "I'll have the oshiruko, please." I noticed a family at a nearby table receiving their "kishimen." Since I have been taught by my parents since childhood not to peek at other people's things, I didn't look. But I was very curious. I looked at the menu. The price of oshiruko plus something extra. (I'll try that next time.) The oshiruko arrived in about 5 minutes. Conclusion: It was plentiful and incredibly delicious. There were two mochi, and even with my two front false teeth, I could eat it without worry. The price may be a bit high, but the taste was worth it. As I was about to leave, about three more groups came in. A young lady pushing a baby stroller also comfortably entered the shop. While settling the bill, I was tempted by the dango on display, but since I was planning to go to Kinokuniya bookstore, I decided to save the treat for next time.
