The Starbucks store in Ninen-zaka is housed in a renovated traditional Japanese house, giving it a modern Japanese atmosphere. The first floor is where you place your order and pick up your items, while the second floor is for seating. The second floor has a mix of traditional tatami seating and regular tables. It can get crowded, so finding a seat depends on timing. However, the view of the sloping street from the second floor windows is nice. The café latte comes with the usual art pattern, but the heart shape was a bit blurry. Maybe they don't have much affection for old men (laughs). The apple pie, tagged as a new item, is made with Aomori's red apple and is very delicious. It's not too sweet, has a hint of cinnamon, and the apple has a crisp texture. The combination of café latte and apple pie was delightful, allowing me to enjoy their delicious flavors.

I wanted to try the new Starbucks dessert "Hand-pressed Chestnut Mont Blanc" but I was torn between the new Starbucks that just opened and my favorite shop here. Ultimately, I chose this place, a Starbucks located on Ninen-zaka leading to Kiyomizu-dera, a renovated 100-year-old Japanese house. The historical atmosphere matches the scenery of Kyoto, with a traditional Japanese vibe and tatami seating where you can enjoy delicious coffee. However, it was super crowded with foreign tourists! There was no place to sit, but the new Mont Blanc dessert was amazing with plenty of chestnut paste, smooth and delicious. Thank you for the meal. The only downside is that there is only one small restroom.

Today's coffee is from Kyoto, at the Yasaka Chaya store in Ninen-zaka. Ninen-zaka is a street leading to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Kiyomizu-dera. The store is located in a traditional Japanese house that retains the atmosphere of the Taisho era. The exterior of the building has been preserved, while the interior has been renovated with a new interpretation. The bar areas in the front and back of the store are softly lit, resembling lanterns illuminating a street garden. The long corridor invites you to walk through, offering an experience similar to strolling through a street garden. This Starbucks is probably the busiest in Japan, with a mix of Westerners, Taiwanese, and even Muslim women in hijabs. Overheard conversations in Korean and Spanish add to the international vibe of Kyoto as a tourist city. The staff, likely college students, efficiently handle orders and customers in fluent English. I had hoped to relax on the tatami mats after my morning coffee, but every seat was occupied by foreigners who had gotten up early. Since the tatami seats are prime spots, I decided not to wait and headed out. Walking up Sannen-zaka from Ninen-zaka, I enjoyed my coffee while taking in the sights of Kiyomizu-dera's approach. The humidity in Kyoto today is quite intense!

When my family visited Kyoto in July, we stopped by this place. It was full of foreign tourists, and all the seats were taken. We had to give up on drinking here, but I bought a bag of ice coffee blend beans. The Starbucks staff, despite being busy, kindly added samples of other beans for me. They were really helpful.

I have always wanted to visit the world's first Starbucks with tatami flooring, which is the Kyoto Ninenzaka Yasaka Tea House store recognized as a regional landmark store. The traditional Japanese house, which is over 100 years old, has been turned into a unique store that blends in perfectly with the historic streetscape. The exterior doesn't look like a typical Starbucks at first glance! The atmosphere inside doesn't disappoint either, with a bustling crowd of foreign customers from early in the morning. While there were seats available on the first floor, the main area seemed to be on the second floor, especially the tatami seating which was very popular! Even though other seats were empty, the tatami seats were fully occupied, so we waited for a while. Intrigued by the ambiance, I ordered the Matcha Cream Frappuccino & Matcha White Chocolate Scone for ¥900. The crispy warmed matcha scone and the customized matcha cream frappuccino made me feel really good.

One of the 28 "Regional Landmark Stores" nationwide, which are stores that showcase the culture of the region to the world. This store is located facing Ninenzaka, following Kiyomizu-dera, a component of the World Cultural Heritage site "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto." My honest impression is, "Were there any Japanese customers?" The three tatami rooms are all bustling with photo shoots. "Is this the Starbucks of JAPAN! So cool!" I could hear voices like that, probably. Even on a weekday evening, the store is crowded, so the level of congestion on holidays is immeasurable. However, there is no doubt that there is a unique Kyoto atmosphere. [Date of visit] Monday (clear) / 5:00 PM [Queue] None [Service time] Approximately 2 minutes

I visited Kiyomizu-dera and stopped by to eat ramen. I have been here before the pandemic, but the atmosphere of this restaurant is different from other Starbucks, with tatami seating and a full Kyoto vibe. There were many people, including foreigners, who seemed very interested. I ordered a latte, but it took almost 10 minutes to arrive. It's a tourist spot after all!

198th store for attracting attention: Starbucks Coffee Kyoto Yasaka Chaya Store
This time, I visited the Starbucks Coffee Kyoto Yasaka Chaya Store in Ninen-zaka, which I found to be very stylish. The interior of the store was a bit dark with a charming atmosphere, and I noticed that many tourists were taking photos there. If you are interested, please stop by and check it out!

While sightseeing at Kiyomizu-dera, I came across a very stylish Starbucks and decided to check it out! The exterior was stylish, and the interior had a great atmosphere too! Since I was in Kyoto, I ordered a matcha tea latte and enjoyed the trendy vibe. It really lifted my spirits! Now, I'll head to the next shop I want to visit!

It's 3:30 pm on a regular day. I stopped by for a break after visiting Kiyomizu-dera. The Instagram-worthy Ninen-zaka is crowded with tourists. I heard this place is always packed, and it's true. I ordered a matcha frappuccino because it's Kyoto. The shop has a traditional Japanese style with tatami seats, but there was no space, so I got it to go. After waiting in line, I was tired, but the cold frappuccino was delicious.

Ninen-zaka store is located on Ninen-zaka, which leads to Kiyomizu Temple, a central spot for sightseeing in Kyoto. The exterior of the building is a renovated traditional Japanese house that is over 100 years old. The architectural style exudes a Taisho Roman ambiance, with features like the Oshibe. The store entrance does not have the typical Starbucks noren curtain depicting the Siren logo, perhaps due to the weather or other reasons. Inside, the store follows a one-way system, with a slightly dimmer ambiance compared to regular stores, creating a unique atmosphere. The order pick-up area is slightly separated from the counter, offering a view of a charming courtyard that enhances the Kyoto vibe. The store carries a limited selection of coffee and merchandise, including tumblers with "KYOTO" printed on them. The second floor is the main seating area, providing a view of the historic streets of Ninen-zaka. The store is spacious with a total of 51 seats. The menu is similar to other Starbucks stores, with a variety of matcha drinks being popular choices. The store also offers around 20 types of cakes and pastries. The reviewer tried the English muffin for breakfast, which was a healthy and satisfying choice. They also ordered the Yuzu Citrus Tea, enjoying the refreshing acidity. Overall, the reviewer recommends visiting the store again.

I visited the Starbucks located on Ninen-zaka, which I have always wanted to visit. This Starbucks has a traditional Japanese feel with a noren curtain at the entrance and tatami mats inside. The building used to be a ryokan, which adds to its charm. I ordered my usual Yuzu Citrus Hot in Venti size and a Hot Caramel Macchiato in Tall size, along with a Ham & Maribou Cheese Stone Oven Focaccia. The cheese melted perfectly and was delicious. I usually go to the Starbucks in Takasago City or Asagiri, but I wanted to experience this unique Japanese-style Starbucks. If you visit Kodai-ji Temple or Gion, be sure to stop by this Starbucks. The Yuzu Citrus drink has fruit pulp in it, making it sweet and refreshing. I heard you can customize it, so I'd like to try a different variation next time. Thank you for the meal. I went there right when it opened at 8 am on a Saturday, and it was already crowded with tourists from overseas and Japan.

The other day, I wanted to go to Starbucks in Kyoto. I had never been to this Starbucks in Ninenzaka before! It was only a few minutes from my accommodation, so I came to take a photo of the exterior during the day, but it was really crowded and looked full. I went around 6:30 PM. There were more foreigners than Japanese people! Truly a tourist spot. While waiting at the first-floor counter, a Korean person asked me in English if we could take a photo together, and we hit it off. Luckily, a seat opened up for us, and I enjoyed Starbucks with the Korean group on the second floor! What a fun time. It was like a scene from a Korean drama. And they looked like BTS! It might be the first time I made Korean friends. I had such a lucky encounter at this Starbucks. I was asked by my Korean friend what drink I was having, so I told them about the Triple Espresso Latte. I've been into Triple Espresso Lattes lately. It was a wonderful time making friends while traveling and enjoying a moment of relaxation with a rich espresso drink.

Located between Kiyomizu-dera and Kodai-ji, this Starbucks is always crowded with Japanese and foreign tourists. I went around 10 am the morning after a heavy snowfall and was able to find a seat right away, but it was almost full. The atmosphere is amazing, and being right in the middle of a tourist spot, it's natural for it to be busy. Make sure to secure a seat before lining up to order.

I like the espresso menu. The soy latte with warm soy milk is richer than a regular cafe latte. Soy milk is lower in calories and healthier than regular milk. I also bought my usual favorite drip coffee today, a tall size of the house blend.

Located in Ninen-zaka in Kyoto. At first glance, you wouldn't even notice it's a Starbucks because it blends in with the traditional Kyoto scenery. You have to take off your shoes before entering the store. I really wanted to relax inside, but I didn't have time so I had to get a takeout instead. I hope to visit again someday and experience the atmosphere inside the store.

I visited this place nearby after lunch for a little break. The exterior doesn't look like a Starbucks at first glance due to its location. The interior has a chic Kyoto-like atmosphere. The place was crowded, so I had to find a seat before being guided by the staff. I managed to secure a seat and ordered the "Butter Caramel Mille Feuille Frappuccino" from the menu at the counter. After a short wait, I received my Frappuccino and returned to my seat. The Frappuccino had a delicious blend of caramel sweetness and nuttiness. I will definitely visit this Starbucks again.

Ninenzaka, leading to Kiyomizu-dera, a World Heritage Site. Starbucks Coffee Kyoto Ninenzaka Yasaka Chaya store, located in a traditional Japanese house in a historic and cultural neighborhood with a Taisho era atmosphere. It is designated as a Starbucks Regional Landmark Store, representing the local culture through its architectural design. I tried the seasonal Butter Caramel Mille-Feuille Latte Hot Tall ¥590 and Starbucks Latte Hot Venti® ¥545. The Butter Caramel Mille-Feuille Latte is a latte with espresso, milk, smooth and fragrant butter caramel sauce, custard sauce, whipped cream, butter caramel sauce, crispy Feuilletine, and pie crumbs on top. It's a bit too sweet, but when paired with a Starbucks Latte, it's just right...

I tried to visit this place twice before but gave up due to the long line. However, on my third attempt, I was able to purchase with only a few people in line. The Starbucks has a traditional Japanese style both on the exterior and interior. The flow after purchasing is a bit slow. There is a garden in the back where you can wait for your order, and the seating is on the second floor. There are table seats as well as tatami mat seating and even small private rooms. It can be a hassle to secure a seat, but the atmosphere is quite unique. However, the toilet on the second floor was out of order. Starbucks, please fix it! I will definitely come back for tea at the right timing!

This is my second visit. On the way from Kiyomizu-dera to Yasaka Shrine, there is a Starbucks on Ninen-zaka. There are no flashy signs, just a small name plate at the gate and a wooden sign on the second floor, but it's not very noticeable. The design of the store is stylish, with a charming Kyoto-style atmosphere that is very appealing. It is quite popular among foreign tourists. Even for us Japanese, it has a good vibe and makes the coffee taste even better. The small garden next to the counter is nice too. The second floor has tatami mat seating areas, which is a unique feature not found in other Starbucks. The store also sells Kyoto-themed goods, which make great souvenirs. We settled in the tatami space on the second floor, which was a cozy space that made us feel like taking a nap. Is it just me, or does the drink taste even better than usual? It's a lovely store where you want to linger.
