When it comes to sushi restaurants in Nishimatsuru, I went to this place. I sat at the L-shaped counter seat and looked at the menu. There was even a live fish tank, so the freshness was outstanding. I started with a beer from the nearby sea. From the appetizer, it seemed like you could drink alcohol. The thread seaweed and steamed clams were delicious. The assorted sashimi was paired with cloudy sake and daiginjo, and I used the tears of the sashimi to make a roll. The eel was great - both grilled and in kabayaki style. After that, I was feeling good with a slight buzz.

The inside of the shop gives off a strong sense of history from the Showa era, with a parking lot next door and a lively sushi restaurant atmosphere! The rice portions are quite large, so when ordering, be sure to ask for half instead of a full portion. The staff are all very friendly, as expected from people in the countryside, where many kind-hearted people can be found!

I visited Ittenhari Yashiki in Maizuru City in May 2016. The restaurant is located less than a 10-minute walk from JR Nishi-Maizuru Station. It was my first visit. After sightseeing in Miyazu, I wanted to try the delicious Trigai from Maizuru, so I made a reservation and went to this restaurant. The staff recommended dishes for us starting from appetizers. The dishes included: 1. Appetizer 2. Trigai 3. Assorted sashimi (Mackerel, Flying fish, Flounder, Horse mackerel, Horse mackerel) 4. Grilled sand shrimp with salt 5. Sweet sea bream soup 6. Firefly squid marinated in seawater 7. Salted squid sushi (Amberjack, Shark fin, Mackerel shirako, Squid, Squid tentacles) *Red snapper tea pickles Drink: 1. Draft beer 2. Sake (Ittenhari Yashiki) 3. Highball The Trigai we had was served after being lightly boiled. It had a sweetness but the texture was a bit dry from being boiled too much. It lacked aroma and umami, which was not to my taste. The sand shrimp, known as gas shrimp in Kanazawa, had a soft texture and a sweet taste, which was delicious, but I would have preferred it raw to experience a richer sweetness. We tried Mackerel shirako sushi, which was a rare item. It had a rich umami flavor, but it was a bit too intense, with a taste that might divide opinions. The sushi rice was soft and slightly sweet. The red snapper in the tea pickles was freshly filleted. It had a delicious flavor of red snapper. The service was good, and the atmosphere of the restaurant felt like a casual izakaya, making it a convenient place to dine. Although the Trigai I was looking forward to was not to my liking, the sashimi and sand shrimp from Maizuru were delicious. Overall, I was not completely satisfied with my experience, but I believe this restaurant offers a wide variety of Maizuru seafood dishes. Thank you for the meal.

It feels like a traditional sushi restaurant. It's a place where locals gather. It's just a short walk from the arcade. The interior gives off a vibe of being renovated from an old style. I went to a local sashimi and local sake festival and got drunk, so all I can remember is "it was delicious". But I had a great time chatting with the locals about Maizuru.

I have visited this restaurant a few times, and this time I ordered a delivery of sushi for two people. This local sushi restaurant is quite popular for its fresh and delicious sushi. Most of the menu items are priced according to the market. They have a website, so you can search for "Tanago Sushiya Itten Yashiki" to see more details. Personally, I am not a big fan of seafood, but the fish prepared here is really tasty without any fishy smell. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. They offer delivery service, and even though the delivery person is elderly, she is very elegant.

When staying overnight in Maizuru, I decided to try a different restaurant called "Ittenchi" that I had heard about from an acquaintance as a place with delicious fish. I made a reservation over the phone and visited by car. The parking lot is located next to the restaurant. The restaurant has a counter and tatami seating, and it seems quite spacious. There were several groups of customers at the counter and many staff members, making it lively. There are no prices listed on the menu, but I assume the prices are similar to those of an izakaya. We started with a sashimi assortment including squid, flatfish, mackerel, sea bream, and sea urchin. It was delicious. Next, we had simmered fish, which was a bit bland but cooked nicely. The tempura was average, with frozen shrimp. Normally, sushi would be a good way to end the meal, but there wasn't much to choose from that day. In the end, my companion ordered a sushi roll, and we paid the bill. While the restaurant may not be bad as an izakaya, it wasn't impressive enough for me to want to go back. There is another branch of this restaurant called Ittenchi near Nishi-Maizuru Station, and I wonder if the one near the station has better reviews.
