On this day, I went to see an Andy Warhol exhibition at the Kyocera Kyoto Museum of Art, which was the root or starting point of my work. It was the first time I had seen his actual works, and it was a very interesting exhibition. (My icon is also made as an homage, with a self-portrait and my eyes.) On the way back, it was just past noon, so we decided to have lunch somewhere, and we ended up at this restaurant. The restaurant seemed to have been renovated, so it still had a new feel to it. Initially, I knew it was a Japanese restaurant, but I didn't expect it to be mainly tempura. However, I love tempura, so it was not a problem at all. We entered and there was only one empty table, so we were seated there. After that, more and more customers came in, so it seems like it's already a popular restaurant. I ordered the shrimp and conger eel tempura rice bowl (with rolled omelette) for 1,500 yen, and my wife ordered the warm udon noodles and tempura set meal for 1,450 yen. What's interesting is that you can also have tempura rice bowl as part of the tempura set meal, so it's nice that you can choose based on your mood. However, we had to wait for almost 40 minutes because it seemed like we arrived at a busy time. But since we were informed that it would take some time, we didn't rush and waited patiently. The shrimp and conger eel tempura rice bowl was served with a large shrimp, 3 pieces of conger eel, lotus root, pumpkin, 2 eggplants, and 2 green peppers. It was a rice bowl where you mix grated ginger and tempura dipping sauce. The set meal included 2 pieces of rolled omelette, red miso soup, and pickles (two types of pickled vegetables and pickled radish). The warm udon noodles and tempura set meal included udon noodles with shiitake mushrooms and tempura (a large shrimp, 2 pieces of tilefish, 3 green peppers, 2 eggplants, and pumpkin). You can enjoy changing various things according to your preferences, which is nice. You can enjoy it with the straight tempura dipping sauce, or mix it with grated ginger, which is quite nice. The tempura itself was crispy and light, unlike the sesame oil tempura rice bowl from Edo, it was a light tempura rice bowl. It was a tempura rice bowl that made good use of the Kyoto-like dashi-flavored tempura dipping sauce and red miso soup. So for those from outside the prefecture, the taste may seem a bit weak, but for Kyoto locals, it was a tempura rice bowl that had just the right amount of saltiness and the flavor of dashi-infused ingredients. The rolled omelette also had a good dashi flavor and the right amount of saltiness, so I quite liked it. The udon noodle broth also had a good dashi flavor and the right amount of saltiness. At the end of the meal, sherbet was served, which was a nice touch. It was light and refreshing. Overall, it was a great restaurant that seems to be gaining popularity rapidly. 3.6
