This is a shop that my husband and I stumbled upon during our stroll. The first floor is a roadside station called "Ocha no Kyoto Minamiyamashiro Village" where popular products are sold. The second floor is a cafe called naturam RYU-RYOKU. This time, we used the first floor. Minamiyamashiro Village is the only village in Kyoto Prefecture, known for its fragrant Uji tea, a famous tea-producing area for green tea. While there are many shops in Kyoto that offer sweets made with tea, I think it's rare to find a shop that focuses on tea from Minamiyamashiro Village. I really wanted to try the pudding and dorayaki made with matcha and hojicha, but both needed refrigeration. Since we had a long journey home, we decided to give up on that and instead got a bottle of tea and a canelé made with matcha, as well as a financier coated with fruit flavors that can be carried at room temperature. The canelé made with matcha had a green interior when broken by hand, with a gentle matcha aroma. The fruit-flavored coating was pink for berry and yellow for passion fruit, both with a fruity flavor and a hint of acidity. The aroma of the tea in the bottle was delightful. Next time, I would like to try the refrigerated pudding and dorayaki when staying overnight, and if there is time, I would like to visit the salon on the second floor. Thank you for the meal!

After lunch, we took a leisurely stroll and decided to take a break. There is a café on the second floor and a shop on the first floor with a small seating area at the back. We each chose a drink on the first floor. I had a matcha latte which was delicious with a rich matcha flavor. It was a weekday so we were able to relax and enjoy our break. We also bought some souvenirs to take home. The matcha dorayaki we got was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I was told that the space was lovely, so I decided to go check it out. This time, I tried the [RYU-RYOKU] ¥1650 and under menu. Inspired by the tea fields of Minamiyamashiro Village, this dish features a rich yet melt-in-your-mouth matcha terrine and pure milk ice cream made from Miyama milk, enhancing the matcha flavor even more. The Minamiyamashiro matcha "Okumidori" terrine, Miyama milk ice cream, matcha crumble, and matcha milk foam. Hmm, it's expensive. Not worth the cost. The atmosphere is nice though. The terrine was delicious, but the leaf-like thing felt like I was eating actual leaves, so I'm sorry, but I won't be going back.

The atmosphere was nice with a good selection of sweets. The prices were a bit high, but the setting on the first floor for selling products and the second floor for the café was nice. The staff asked us to call out for service, so we did and waited a bit. There were benches in the back where we sat while waiting. The view of the wooden ceiling and beams was nice, giving a traditional Japanese house feel. The water served was smooth and delicious. We ordered the classic matcha and sweets made with Miyama milk, along with red tea from Minamiyamashiro. The red tea was served in a teapot and had a rich color with a grassy aroma, pairing well with milk. The staff kindly provided milk when requested, making the tea taste even better. The sweets were elegantly presented, with a bit too much decoration for our taste. The Miyama ice cream and matcha terrine were delicious, with the milkiness of Miyama being prominent and the bitterness of matcha in the terrine complemented by the gelatin wrapping. The staff even lowered the chairs for us to sit down, giving a restaurant-like experience. Despite the slightly high prices, it felt like a small luxury and had a high-class atmosphere. It could be recommended as a stylish Japanese sweets café. Thank you for the meal.

On Sunday at 2:00 PM, I stopped by Fuya Yanagi for lunch. After enjoying my meal, I decided to try their village matcha soft serve ice cream for 500 yen. It was a Christmas limited edition version with black honey drizzle on a tray. I asked if I could sit in the garden area, and the staff kindly opened the sliding door for me to go outside. The rich matcha flavor of the soft serve was luxurious. My son had the Christmas version which looked like a soft serve tree. When I mentioned buying a souvenir for my daughter, my son also wanted one, so I ended up purchasing two Muracha puddings for 480 yen each. My daughter was delighted and enjoyed them. There were also other tea sweets available on the second floor, which I would like to try next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I was called out by the staff at the storefront and decided to enter. With so many choices of matcha soft serve and parfaits, I couldn't decide which one to pick, so I thought of this as another encounter and asked for the Christmas limited edition topping matcha soft serve. In Kyoto, the birthplace of matcha soft serve, the emphasis is on the matcha flavor rather than sweetness or milkiness. Here too, the sweetness is subtle and the matcha is served cold. The azuki beans and white chocolate toppings look lovely against the green. I also bought hojicha dorayaki, matcha macarons, and two packs of tea as souvenirs. I enjoyed them at the hotel as well. The tea had a refreshing aroma and a rich taste.

From March to April, there have been a series of new openings of commercial facilities and dining areas in the Kinki region. It's been a while since we've seen so many new places opening up. In this blog, we will be introducing these new establishments in a series called "2021 Spring New Store Festival." 2021 Spring New Store Festival Part 56: Let's Eat in Kyoto Part 24 Opened on April 29th, "Kyotofuyaryu-ryoku" (KYOTOFUYARYU-RYOKU) near Kyoto City Hall. Originally a tea shop from Minamiyamashiro Village, they have now opened a cafe as well. They offer Minamiyamashiro Village matcha soft serve ice cream for 500 yen. Did you know that Minamiyamashiro Village is the only village in Kyoto Prefecture?

Drinking green tea in a wine glass! The tea's aroma wafting gently is nice, and the building was also lovely.
