I was near Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto and had a hard time deciding from the various options on the menu at "Yukiya Shimizuyoshiharu-an", but I ended up ordering the Tempura and Egg Rice Bowl. The softness of the egg was amazing. The mini soba set that came with it was also delicious. 😊 #Tempura and Egg Rice Bowl #Egg and Rice Bowl #Shrimp Tempura #Shrimp #Tempura #Egg dish #Soba #Kyoto gourmet #Kiyomizu-dera #Kiyomizu-dera gourmet

I arrived before 12 o'clock on a holiday. I didn't have a reservation, but maybe because it was early, I was seated right away. The tempura was crispy and delicious. The soba noodles were firm and excellent. The staff were friendly, and overall it was a great experience. I would definitely want to go back.

I knew about Ukioya but had never been there before. It was located on the way up the Sannenzaka slope. I wonder if it has always been there and I just never noticed. It looked inviting, so I decided to try their soba. I opted for their specialty dish, "Ukisoba". I decided to go for the "Ukitempura Soba" for 1350 yen (including 10% tax). It had a fluffy mixture of natto and egg on top of the soba, with shrimp tempura, seaweed tempura, and green bean tempura. I slurped it up while enjoying the fluffy texture. It was delicious!

I visited a soba restaurant in Kyoto that I stumbled upon during my trip. The soba was light and fluffy, with natto mixed in for a new and unique texture. It was so fluffy that it almost felt like eating air! Before I knew it, the soba was gone. It's a great place to try out for a light snack-like meal. Highly recommended!

The set meal includes zaru soba, tempura, and rice. It's quite a generous portion. The tempura was crispy and delicious. You can eat the soba with either soba dipping sauce or salt, and I preferred the soba dipping sauce. The soba itself was okay, nothing special.

It was a shop we visited after visiting Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Among many shops closed, this place is recommended for those with a tight schedule looking for a casual soba restaurant. The service was average. The shop mainly serves soba made from a mix of 80% buckwheat and 20% wheat flour, but they also offer the option to switch to soba made from 100% buckwheat. I decided to convert to 100% buckwheat soba at the last minute. I ordered duck soba, and when comparing it to my daughter's regular soba, my preference was for the regular soba. The 100% buckwheat soba itself, when dipped in the tempura dipping sauce from my wife's tempura soba, did not have the rich aroma of Kyoto Uji matcha that I was expecting.

I had just indulged in sweets at lunchtime and wanted to satisfy my hunger, so I ended up at Arashiyama and found Yokiya. It's a Kyoto staple for soba, so I felt reassured and went for the kake soba and tempura set (around 1200 yen). Since I was there at an off-peak time, I had the place to myself and was able to enjoy my meal leisurely. 😊

It was delicious in a normal way. The portion size of the soba was big, but it was just right since I ordered the shrimp tempura donburi. I am satisfied and feel about 80% full. The soba noodles were thin and light, easy to eat, but I prefer thicker noodles so I found it a bit lacking. The shrimp tempura donburi had three shrimp, giving it a satisfying volume. The pickles included radish pickles, daikon, and cucumber, which were light and refreshing, but I wish there were more variety. Overall, I was able to take a break and enjoy the meal, so thank you very much.

Near Sanneizaka, there is a shop here that has renovated a warehouse, with high ceilings and a nice atmosphere. When I visited around 3 o'clock, the place was packed with customers and I had to wait a bit. I was seated on the second floor and placed my order. Initially, I was thinking of getting the "Yamakake Soba," but then I noticed a menu item called "Yuki Soba," which caught my attention. It was described as soba noodles topped with a fluffy mixture of natto and egg. I was curious and decided to order the warm Yuki Soba. I was worried that the natto smell might be strong because it was warm, but it wasn't the case. The combination of egg and natto was light and delicious, and it paired well with the soba noodles. My wife and daughter ordered the Duck Soba set and the Oyakodon set, which they also enjoyed. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Kyoto on a trip in June 6, 2019. It was hot outside at 31℃! I couldn't resist and went into a soba restaurant that caught my eye for lunch and to cool off. I ordered the tempura soba set! The soba noodles were surprisingly thin, which is something you wouldn't expect in Hokkaido! But they had a great texture and chewiness, and were very delicious.

Today, my family and I strolled around the area near Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto. We stopped by a soba restaurant for lunch. The atmosphere was nice, like a traditional storehouse. I had been craving cold soba for a while, so I immediately went in. I ordered a set with shrimp tempura rice bowl and assorted soba (1750 yen). The tempura rice bowl was delicious, and the soba was thin and smooth. It was a meal that truly impressed me after a long time.

I tried konnyaku rice for the first time. It was lightly seasoned and I found it a bit lacking in flavor, so I poured soba sauce over it and ate it. It was delicious.

Both dishes were delicious and had a Kyoto-like taste. The tea flavor in the tea soba was a bit subtle. The fresh yuba rice bowl was comforting with its warm sauce.

Did it change depending on the store?! Wasn't it more fluffy and light? Was the broth supposed to be this overly sweet? Kind of disappointing.

I was wandering around Shimizusaka area and happened to enter this restaurant. The soba I had was delicious! It had natto and meringue on top, and the noodles were thin with a good aroma. I heard they have other branches too, so I will definitely come back! ✨

When I used to live in Kyoto, I would often go to this restaurant. It's a bit pricey for a soba place, and it's located halfway up the Sannenzaka slope, so it's not the most convenient to get to. However, I highly recommend their Nama Yuba and Shiso Soba. Even my sister, who isn't a big fan of soba, loved it and praised the dish. Since it's located in a tourist area, it's perfect for a little treat or special occasion.

I think it was a set meal of tempura rice bowl. It had two large prawns and the soft scrambled eggs were very delicious, satisfying to eat.
