I was exhausted after coming back from Nara, so I decided to look for a coffee shop at Kyoto Station. The underground area was crowded with tourists, so I found a quiet place to go in. I ordered a charcoal-brewed iced coffee, and my junior colleague got a sandwich. The place was called "Kissaten" and lived up to its name with delicious coffee. The sandwich was also tasty. It's a cozy place where even solo customers can feel comfortable.

When I went to offer my prayers at Higashi Honganji Temple right near Kyoto Tower, I took a little break at a coffee shop called Kissa-kan. I ordered hotcakes, which they make fresh to order, so I had to wait for about 10 minutes. While enjoying a delicious cup of coffee, I waited for the pancakes to be ready. The pancakes had a nostalgic taste and were surrounded by a fragrant aroma. It was a relaxing time.

I visited a coffee shop in Kyoto as part of my GW expedition. I found out they serve their famous hotcakes even during breakfast, so I immediately ordered one. I also got a coffee jelly and charcoal-brewed iced coffee set for 780 yen. Ordering them separately would have been more expensive, so I think it's a good deal. The sweet syrup and fluffy pancake were a perfect match. The charcoal-brewed iced coffee was also delicious with a nice aroma. It was a truly elegant moment.

I took a break before going to Higashi Hongan-ji Temple at the Coffee Shop Kyoto Higashi Hongan-ji Mae store. I visited a few other shops but they were all full! Luckily, this one was available! I replenished my body with sugar after walking around and getting tired! This time, I had an iced cocoa with a float topping. The cool cocoa seeped into my sweaty body! The sweet cocoa was delicious. The vanilla ice cream also went well with the cocoa. It was a refreshing moment. Thank you for the meal.

I was on a business trip to Kyoto Station. However, I had a little time to spare so I wandered around the area and came across this place. They had Wi-Fi, plenty of coffee options, snacks, and even counter seats with outlets. It was so convenient for both business people and those looking for a break on their day off. I had a Brazilian Cerrado Minas coffee that day and it was a blissful moment. Thank you for the meal.

It is located about halfway between Higashi Honganji Temple and Yodobashi Camera, which can be considered as in front of Kyoto Station. It would take less than 7 minutes to walk there. I tried their morning set. While Kyoto has many famous coffee shops like Inoda Coffee, the coffee at Kohikan is also delicious.

I tried Royal Milk Tea ( ੭˙ᗜ˙)੭ and I'd like to try their sweets someday too ✧·˚⌖. ꙳ It's great that you can go almost without getting wet from underground (っ ॑꒳ ॑c). Definitely a place to relax at Kyoto Station - ̗̀ ( ˶'ᵕ'˶) ̖́-

I visited this place near Higashi Honganji Temple. Classical music was playing inside the store. I had the morning "toast and egg set". There is free WiFi inside the store, and they also have Kyoto guidebooks, making it convenient for planning sightseeing.

The coffee has a very nice aroma and is delicious. Today, I had hotcakes that were thick and fluffy, with butter and syrup that blended well together. It was clear that they were freshly made and I enjoyed them very much. I started with black coffee and ended with coffee with cream.

I was surprised by the sudden heat in Kyoto, even though the city center was cool when I walked from Kyoto Station towards Higashi Honganji Temple. I was looking for a restroom, a place to cool down a bit, and a cold drink. As I wandered around a crossroads, I spotted a coffee shop. It seemed like a chain store from Kansai, which is uncommon in Tokyo. I ordered an iced coffee, which was refreshing, flavorful, and a bit pricey. I have been used to convenience store coffee lately, but this coffee was delicious and provided a cool moment on a hot day.

I barely made it for breakfast because I was so hungry that I left earlier than planned, around 11 am, and stopped by here for a last-minute morning meal. I tried the pizza toast set that I've been into lately, along with a blend coffee. After ordering, I regretted not getting charcoal coffee. It was less crowded this time compared to when I visited during the day, which was nice. The pizza toast was delicious!! The bread was crispy and light, and the sauce was tasty. However, some of the cheese inside didn't melt. Is that normal? It's a cozy cafe where you can casually drop by for a coffee ☕️.

Around noon, I visited the coffee shop alone. The seating was about half full. It is located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Shichijo Street and Karasuma Street. The coffee shop is operated by See United Co., Ltd., a full-service café chain that also has multiple other brands besides "Kissaten." The brands include self-service brands like Café Veloce and CAFE DI ESPRESSO Kissaten, as well as full-service brands like "Kissaten Kura," Chanoir, and Sejour. They also have a brand specialized for smokers called "THE SMOKIST COFFEE."
The unique feature of the service at the "Kissaten" I visited this time is that they offer coffee menus roasted over charcoal fire, and they extract coffee cup by cup in the store instead of at a factory. Even other similar cafes like Ueshima Coffee Shop and Komeda Coffee do not offer coffee menus roasted over charcoal fire. The feature of charcoal roasting is that while the heat is not as strong as gas, it contains a lot of far-infrared rays, allowing for a slow and even roasting from the surface to the core of the beans. It is said that roasting the beans slowly without breaking the cells too quickly brings out the original flavor of the beans easily. On the other hand, the disadvantages are the cost and the difficulty in ensuring consistent quality.
At Kissaten, they use domestic Binchotan charcoal, and artisans roast the beans using their five senses to determine the degree of roasting, resulting in a rich taste and a fragrant charcoal aroma.

★ Charcoal Roasted Coffee
You can feel the fragrant roasting aroma of charcoal, but it is roasted thoroughly without bitterness, finishing light.
[Overall Review]
In addition to the "Charcoal Coffee" I ordered this time, they have elaborate coffee menus such as specialty coffee "Brazil Santo Antonio" using New Crop (beans harvested within a year), "Fully Ripe Coffee" with a unique sweetness and moderate acidity by delaying the harvest time by about a month, and "Shade-Dried Coffee" where coffee beans are dried slowly in the shade to condense sweetness. They also have a variety of food menus, including "Traditional Hotcakes" baked one by one on a copper plate after ordering, and "Gratin Bread" filled with original white sauce on French bread. The coffee shop also offers a discount for the second cup of coffee and spacious seating. I would like to try "Shade-Dried" or "Fully Ripe" coffee next time. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a coffee shop located near Kyoto Station. It was past lunchtime, so I ordered Charcoal Roasted Coffee and Traditional Hotcakes with Hokkaido red beans for lunch. The hotcakes had a good volume and paired well with the red beans, making them delicious. The coffee was also delicious, but it had a slightly strong flavor, which may be a matter of personal preference. The location is convenient, and I think it's a good value for the money.

I visited the café in March 2021 for breakfast. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, very close to Higashi Honganji Temple. The location is very convenient. The atmosphere inside the café is nice and relaxing. I ordered the Toast Set for 500 yen and added a Coffee Jelly for 80 yen, making it a total of 580 yen. Even though it was before 11 am, I also ordered the Mixed Sandwich Lunch Set for 858 yen. The café's breakfast menu was very satisfying. It is very convenient near Kyoto Station. I highly recommend it.

The interior of the shop is completely non-smoking, which is appreciated by smokers (lol). There are two counter seats available. This time, I sat on the side facing the street, but next time I want to sit on the side where they make the coffee. I like watching the siphon coffee maker (*^^*). I ordered the pizza toast set and the coffee shop blend. The pizza toast has boiled eggs on top, making it quite filling. It might be a bit difficult to eat without cutting it first (^O^;) The coffee came in a slightly smaller cup. It has a strong bitterness. There are more seats in the shop than I expected, so I could relax. Payment can be made in cash or credit card. I thought it was perfect for a little tea time.

A shop located quite close to Kyoto Station. It is relatively quiet and affordable, so it's my husband's favorite. It used to be popular among foreign tourists. Personally, I find it a bit uncomfortable because I have to go to the restroom once I leave. I ordered the Coffee House Sandwich (with salad). If you order a drink over 400 yen, you can add it to the set by paying the difference. The sandwich contains eggs, cucumbers, chicken, and more. I chose a hot honey lemon drink, and it was quite delicious.

I had never used this coffee shop before, so I decided to stop by. It was Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't particularly crowded, and I was able to get a seat right away. This time, being my first visit, I ordered two pancakes and an iced black sugar cafe au lait. It was mentioned that it would take about 15 minutes to bake the pancakes. Indeed, after about 15 minutes, the pancakes and the black sugar cafe au lait arrived. The pancakes were the traditional kind. The prices were reasonable and quite affordable. The black sugar cafe au lait was a bit more expensive than the pancakes, but it was really delicious. Payment with a credit card was accepted.

Before going to the Iwai Hikariaki photo exhibition, I decided to take a little break---. (※I didn't expect to indulge in "pearl milk tea & dragon fruits" even though I'm about to go on a trip to Taiwan (←)www) I felt like I had already "returned home (to Taiwan)"...(^_^;) Being able to taste the authentic flavors in a cafe like this---(°д°)!! I had a morning in Kyoto with a breakfast set. I ordered coffee and scrambled eggs. For an additional 160 yen, you can get the plate shown in the photo, which is a good deal. The toast with plenty of butter was satisfying. I enjoyed my morning overlooking the Higashi Honganji Temple.

I felt like eating the special Neapolitan spaghetti at the coffee shop (with mini salad and drink included) for free (≧∀≦) The Neapolitan here has a rich flavor which I love ☆ The charcoal-brewed iced coffee is fragrant and delicious!
