My coworker visited Asahikawa Onsen in their private time and brought back a souvenir for me. It's a type of cookie that I've heard of before but never tried. It's like a cookie sandwich with cream from Pottery Kiln Kihana no Mori. The texture is crispy with a moist cream filling, not too sweet and easy to eat. I remember seeing the Kihana brand of sweets since I was a child, so it must be a long-standing product. I didn't even have an image of Asahikawa in my mind, but regardless, I'm grateful to my coworker for this treat! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal♪

Nice to meet you! As I approached, I was wondering if I could visit the factory. People passing by were all carrying cake boxes. When I entered, there was a flower shop zone with a lovely floral scent. Next was a zone selling famous woodworking goods from Asahikawa, followed by a zone with lots of Toraya's baked sweets. In the back, there was a cake showcase. I ended up buying a colorful raspberry cake, Mont Blanc, and freshly baked apple pie. Even though I didn't plan on buying cake, I ended up really liking them. The Mont Blanc had rich cream and a crispy bottom, making it stand out from others I've tried. The apple pie was also delicious, a bit sweet but the crust was really tasty. I found out later that the Mont Blanc here was different from other Toraya shops in town in terms of structure, taste, and price. I'll definitely have to go back again. Thank you for the delicious treats!

I received a souvenir from Hokkaido, "Kibana" roasted almonds sandwiched between a chocolate couverture. I kept it refrigerated and found it surprisingly satisfying despite its small size. It seems like a snack that many people would enjoy. I still prefer Shiroi Koibito though (laughs).

This is a shop located southwest of JR Asahikawa Shijo Station in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido. It is a long-established confectionery shop founded in the fourth year of Showa. This shop, Tsuboya, opened in 2014, includes a cafe called Bunran and a manufacturing factory. Today's snack: "Kibana" 6 pieces for 1000 yen. It is a delicious snack with roasted almond galette and smooth couverture chocolate that melts in your mouth. Each piece is substantial with a crispy and crunchy texture. It was very tasty. Thank you for the meal. ❤️

This is Hananomori in Asahikawa City. I rented a bicycle at the tourist information center inside Asahikawa Station and rode for about 15 minutes to get there. You can also visit the factory inside the building, which has a cafe. There are many Japanese and Western sweets lined up, making it hard to choose. This time, I bought a croissant. The bakery's pastries are of high quality. The fluffy butter flavor was rich and delicious.

I met at a Valentine's event. I was interested in the chocolate-covered strawberries that disappeared instantly when they arrived, but I couldn't find them in the end. So, I decided to start with something basic for myself, like a wafer with chocolate coating. It's a type that I'm sure everyone would like, although it may not be suitable for a special someone. I recommend it for friend chocolate. It's priced at 500 yen, which is a plus. I still can't stop thinking about those strawberries... Maybe someday I'll find them.

This is a gift from the workplace. It's a popular product from a long-established confectionery shop in Asahikawa called "Kibana". To be honest, I was a bit unsure about how to pronounce "Kibana" until recently. Is it Kibana or Kika... that kind of thing. It seems to be a limited-time product called "Red Flesh Melon". They say it's an almond galette sandwiched with red flesh melon chocolate. It's crispy and fragrant with a melon flavor. It was quite delicious. I don't know who gave it to me, but thank you. ^^
