Surprisingly, about 70-80% of the customers were in their 20s, mostly young women dressed in rental kimonos or yukatas, enjoying the retro atmosphere of this long-established coffee shop. There were only a few foreign tourists scattered around. The 600 yen iced coffee was quite voluminous and had a refreshing taste. This shop's specialty might be the Royal Coffee made with mild American-style cream. It seems like this local coffee shop has turned into a tourist spot due to the recent tourism trend, but it's still a nice place to visit. Enjoyed my time here.

It is made with the shop's own roasted coffee and topped with the rare 100% milk fat cream from Nakazawa Dairy.

I will enjoy it in the Genoa cafe au lait cup that I bought on my honeymoon with my late wife. I remember laughing when I realized that the toilet bowl in the hotel was Genoa, saying, "What? It's a TOTO cup, isn't it?" But anyway, the important thing is the coffee. I bought beans at Royal Coffee Shop after strolling in Asakusa the day before. I have visited this shop a few times, and it always brings back memories. The shop was so quiet in the past, but now it's so noisy with incomprehensible foreign language waves. I couldn't bring myself to sit down, and the seats were all taken, so when I asked the male staff if I could buy beans, he replied, "We only have blends, is that okay?" However, the service was fast and the food came out quickly. - Set A Morning: 760 yen - Set C Morning: 640 yen The bread with ham and egg salad on top was delicious! The salad was also consistently tasty. The iced coffee had a nice bitterness to it. I also had yogurt with strawberry jam, which was also delicious!

I enjoyed beef stew and Hoppy at a place called "Masachan," and then filled my stomach with beef rice at a place called "Fukuchan." However, my friend had a different idea of a proper ending. In fact, they had arranged for a dessert time at a long-established coffee shop. It was convenient as the shop was on the way back to the station. As a young woman came out of the shop, we entered. The tables were packed tightly, making it feel stuffy. When we informed the staff that there were two of us, we were shown to a recently cleared table at the back. We quickly looked at the menu. Although the "hot sandwich" that had been featured in the media caught my eye, I decided to go with just a drink for the end of the meal. I chose an "iced coffee" from the drink menu. My friend also ordered an iced coffee and added a "chocolate-covered vanilla ice cream." The drinks were served promptly. We were asked if we needed syrup or whipped cream. I opted for whipped cream. My friend's ice cream was coated in chocolate and looked refreshing. As I added the whipped cream and sipped through the straw, a slight bitterness and the unique aroma of coffee beans filled the air. In the meantime, my friend was enjoying the ice cream with a spoon. Normally quiet, my friend became talkative in front of me. I had heard before that they were the same age as my father, worked as a local government employee, and even resembled him. Perhaps because of this, they seemed to feel a sense of familiarity with me. They happily talked about watching fireworks recently with their boyfriend in Oiso. Although there were no customers waiting outside, all the tables inside were occupied. The table that had just been vacated was still not cleaned up. It was time to wrap up today's meal gathering... On a holiday afternoon, I stopped by Royal Coffee Shop in Asakusa on my way back from Unazen. The shop had a typical coffee shop appearance, with seating for about 50-60 people. It was early in the afternoon and the shop was about half full when I arrived. I ordered an Americano for 580 yen. It had a slight acidity, not too weak or too strong. Due to the location, more than half of the customers were Asian foreigners. It was a bit noisy, but since they were speaking languages other than Japanese, it didn't bother me and I was able to use the time to plan my schedule. Thank you for the meal!

It also came with strawberry jam, so I was a bit unsure how to eat it, but I decided to spread the jam on one toast and enjoy the ham and egg on the other. The salad also had ham in it, with seaweed adding a healthy touch. And then there was yogurt - slightly yellowish, not like store-bought ones. The strawberry jam could have been mixed with the yogurt as well. Next time, I want to try the hot sandwich. Thank you for the meal!

I had some errands in Asakusa. While visiting Sensoji Temple and Asakusa Shrine, I started to feel overwhelmed by the heat, so I took shelter in this place. Since it was early in the morning, I had a breakfast set as my lunch. It included an egg sandwich, salad, yogurt, and a drink (iced coffee). The shop has a pretty retro look, but it exudes a sense of being well-loved and well-maintained. Despite its age, it feels very clean and the young staff members are kind and attentive. The customers range from foreign tourists and young people to local residents, including elderly people in running attire. Although the cafe was full, we were lucky to get a table right after someone left. Influenced by the men around us who were all drinking cream soda, my son and I ordered cream soda and the hot sandwich featured on "Which Dish Show" to share. My wife asked for water, but the cafe informed her that it is a one-drink minimum policy, so she ended up ordering a beer. The cafe has a retro atmosphere with chandeliers and red fluffy sofas, reminiscent of a Showa-era cafe. The walls may have some cigarette smoke stains, but it is now completely smoke-free, which is reassuring for non-smokers. The cafe is constantly filled with customers, showing its popularity. I ordered the following: - Hot Sandwiches (each ¥650) - Kobe Beef Cheese (with asparagus) - Egg Cheese The hot sandwiches here are amazing. They press them until they are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, creating a great contrast in textures. - Royal Coffee (¥700) They use their own roasted coffee and rare 100% milk fat from Nakazawa Dairy. The coffee has a strong bitterness, but the milk fat makes it smooth and mild.

The coffee was a strong and authentic cup. The Corned Beef Hot Sandwich had a great combination of corned beef, asparagus, and cheese inside. The crispy crust of the bread was delicious.
