I had some business to attend to at Yodo Station, and I heard that the food there was delicious, so I decided to give it a try. There were so many options on the menu that I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up choosing the limited-time "Sea Grapes and Three-color Tuna Bowl" that they had for the season. It was my first time trying sea grapes, and they were delicious with a nice popping texture. The two types of tuna were also very tasty, and I left feeling completely satisfied! If I have business in Yodo again, I will definitely go back!

There was no parking lot so I parked my car at the coin parking lot in front of the station rotary. It cost me 200 yen for 30 minutes. There were already 4 people in line before the store opened, but luckily there were seats available when it opened. The restaurant is small with only 8 counter seats. There is space under the chairs to store your belongings. A person who arrived 10 minutes later had to wait outside in the heat for about 20 minutes as all seats were taken. The walls have pictures of each rice bowl so you can order with confidence. I wanted to try sea grapes at this time of year but they were sold out, so I ordered the Crab, Sweet Shrimp, and Red Shrimp Bowl for 1177 yen with extra rice for 88 yen, and the Red Shrimp, Sweet Shrimp, and Salmon Bowl for 1056 yen, along with miso soup for 88 yen. The total for two people was 2409 yen, which I think is a great deal. The bowls arrived quickly and looked very photogenic. The crab and red shrimp were especially delicious. The atmosphere is not very relaxing due to the limited seating at the counter, but this place is a hidden gem. The Aji Tataki Bowl, Eel Bowl, and Seafood Bowl that other people were eating also looked delicious.

I arrived around 11:30 and was able to enter without waiting in line. Those who came a little later had to wait in line. There were many menu options to choose from. I had the salmon and negitoro bowl. It was great that they could adjust the amount of rice for me. The negitoro was fluffy and very delicious.

Even though the prices have gone up, the cost performance is still good! It's a shame I don't have the stomach to try different options. I always go for the two-meal donburi. This time, I thought about trying the salmon and ikura, but ended up choosing the sticky negitoro and refreshing akami again. I also like the vinegared rice here.

I arrived at 8:00 PM. I ordered a bowl with red shrimp, sweet shrimp, and salmon with extra rice. I was really hungry, but there was plenty of toppings and rice. The bowl was full and delicious! I am satisfied with the amount of food I got for the price. This restaurant has a wide variety of options, generous portions, and great taste for the price. I realized on my way back that this place is right near Yodo Station on the Keihan line. That means it's very close to the Kyoto Racecourse where I've been many times. I can also come here for lunch. I found a good place!

For dinner, I had seafood bowl with my friends! It was around 7:30 pm so we were able to get a table right away. We ordered our usual two-color bowl and miso soup! Water and tea are self-service, so we grabbed them at the entrance before sitting at the counter seats. The two-color bowl was delicious, packed with toppings. The negitoro was so tasty! It's piled high, so I always end up spilling soy sauce when I pour it. I wonder if there's a better way to pour soy sauce without making a mess.

After a long time, I visited Kyoto Racecourse and before entering Yodo Station Racecourse, I found this place while walking a bit. I decided to have an early lunch here before heading out. I chose a seafood bowl from the menu, which had a combination of crab, sweet shrimp, and salmon (1177 yen). The ingredients were piled on top nicely, and I was happy to eat this at this price. It was delicious!

I went to "Uoraku" near Kyoto Racecourse, a very reasonably priced seafood bowl restaurant. There are various types of seafood bowls to choose from... I chose the "Crab, Sweet Shrimp, Red Shrimp Bowl" which is full of my favorites. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal. Seafood bowl heaven near the Kyoto Racecourse@totoraku_kyoto There are so many different types of seafood bowls here, it's hard to choose which one to get. I decided to go with the Crab, sweet shrimp, red shrimp bowl for 1,177 yen. It's a collaboration menu item loved by gourmet enthusiasts. The surprising part is the price - isn't it too cheap? If you're near the Kyoto horse racing area, this place is a definite lunch spot. The restaurant is called Goraku Toraku, located at 173-82 Yodohoncho, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture 613-0903. They are open from 11:00-14:40 and 17:00-20:40, closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Went to Fish Rakugan with a friend. It was around 7pm on a weekday, and although there were a few customers at the counter, we were seated right away. I ordered my favorite Yamakake 2-color bowl. I added extra rice for 80 yen in case I wanted more toppings. It was delicious and filling. I was too full to order more toppings today, but I want to try them next time when I'm feeling hungry.

When I go to Yodo Racecourse, I always go. Yodo Racecourse is also finally getting a renovation. It's a good idea to go to Yodo while it's not crowded, buy some horse racing tickets, have a drink, and eat seafood bowl. It's great. The seafood bowls have a wide variety and are both reasonably priced at just over 1000 yen. Of course, it's not as close to the sea as the market, but it's still great because it's Yodo!

It's been a while since I went to Uogoku. I arrived right after they opened. It can get crowded during lunch hours on weekends, so I recommend coming early. I had the 2-color bowl with extra salmon as the replacement topping. If you're getting a replacement topping, getting extra rice is a must. It was really delicious.

The Aji, Engawa, Negitoro Donburi for 1001 yen was a rare treat outside of ramen and bars. I felt happy enjoying the seafood donburi. It's hard to find a delicious seafood donburi for 1000 yen in 2023. That alone made me happy. I usually expect seafood donburi to cost over 1500 yen. But here, you can choose cheaper options based on the ingredients, which is great. I went on a weekday before noon and had to wait for 20 minutes, but that's understandable. The Aji was fatty and delicious, the Engawa was sweet, and the Negitoro had a nice texture. Wasabi was served on the soy sauce dish for sashimi. I usually think of pouring soy sauce and wasabi on seafood donburi, but it's a bit tricky here. When I tried to melt the wasabi, I ended up with too much soy sauce and it became too spicy. It seems like the best way here is to dip the sashimi in wasabi and soy sauce like you would normally eat sashimi. At first, I didn't dip them in wasabi and soy sauce, but the Aji was still delicious. The Engawa had a hint of the smell of the sea or ocean, a little salty. I wonder if they soak it in saltwater? It tasted great with wasabi and soy sauce. I'm starting to appreciate the taste of wasabi a bit more. In my 20s, I always thought it was better not to dip in wasabi, but now it tastes good with it. Oh, it was so delicious and made me happy. Thank you for the meal. I would line up again to eat it.

I visited a restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. I stopped by while visiting the Kawazu cherry blossoms along the Yodo River. When I arrived in the late morning with plenty of time, there was already a line of people waiting in front of the store, and we had to wait outside. Luckily, the weather was good that day. There were many types of seafood bowls on the menu, so I pondered over which one to choose while waiting. Finally, when we entered the store, we found that there were only 8 seats at the counter along the wall! It was no wonder that it quickly became full. As it was my first visit, I ordered the basic seafood bowl with grated yam added to keep it under 1,000 yen. It was just the right amount for me that day. I hesitated about the 80 yen miso soup, but I ended up just having tea. Next time, I want to challenge myself with a luxurious dish that costs over 2,000 yen.

I visited the restaurant "Uoraku" for lunch on this day. It is a popular seafood bowl restaurant near the Keihan Yodo Station, known for its high cost performance. There aren't many places around here where you can eat, so there was a line during lunchtime. I also waited in line in front of the store for about 20 minutes before finally entering. I sat at the counter and ordered the "Horse mackerel, salted gizzard shad, and amberjack bowl for 1,001 yen (tax included)." There are plenty of photos of the bowls and menus posted outside the store, so you can decide while waiting. The bowl that arrived looked delicious from the appearance! The horse mackerel, salted gizzard shad, and amberjack are all my favorite, so I couldn't wait to dig in. The vinegared rice also increased my appetite. It was a delicious seafood bowl worth waiting for. Thank you for the meal!!!!

Headed to "Uoraku" in Yodo. The menu is quite extensive, including toppings. The counter seating feels a bit cramped, and it's a bit difficult to get a refill on tea by yourself. The "Yamakake Negitoro Don" was satisfying in terms of both price and portion, and the fresh ingredients must be the reason. I definitely want to go back to this restaurant.

Today, I went to the Yodobashi area in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto City. I happened to stop by a popular seafood bowl specialty store in front of Yodobashi Station on the Keihan line. Inside the store, there were paintings of sharks on the walls, creating a unique atmosphere. It seemed like they only had counter seats. While lunchtime had long queues, it was not crowded in the evening. On the wall, there was a wide variety of bowl menu options ranging from 600 yen to over 1,000 yen. The seafood bowl I ordered had 2 shrimp, sweet shrimp, tuna, squid, octopus, and salmon roe. I mixed wasabi into soy sauce and took a bite. The tuna had large slices that paired well with the perfectly seasoned vinegar rice. The squid had generous portions and the popping texture of the salmon roe was delightful, indicating their freshness. I was able to enjoy plenty of toppings on this large seafood bowl for less than 1,000 yen, which was pleasing.

It had been a while since I visited this restaurant, which had been constantly crowded since it was featured on TV, but it seemed to have calmed down recently. I was able to enter without waiting when I visited around 2 pm on a weekday. I sat at the counter and looked at the menu posted on the wall. There were so many options that I was undecided, but I ordered the "Crab, Sweet Shrimp, Red Shrimp Bowl" (1,089 yen). The bowl was filled with sweet shrimp, crab meat, red shrimp, and more to the point where you couldn't see the rice. The sweet shrimp was small but sweet, the crab meat was a bit watery but still delicious, and the red shrimp was finely chopped and had a firm texture, which paired well with the vinegared rice. This restaurant originally started as a sushi restaurant, so the dish is called a seafood sushi bowl rather than a seafood bowl. The menu is very diverse, including seasonal specials, with prices ranging from 648 yen to 2,246 yen, and you can also add extra toppings, making it easy to choose a dish based on your mood and budget for the day. This place always gets crowded whenever it's featured on TV, so now might be a good time to visit while it's quieter.

On a certain weekday at lunchtime, I had lunch at a place near Yodo Station called "Uoraku," where you can enjoy cheap and delicious seafood bowls. I ordered the Negitoro grilled mackerel bowl (Kanazawa mackerel) for 660 yen. Although the bowl looks small, it is packed with slightly warm rice, giving it a substantial volume. The toppings are tightly packed in the small bowl, without any sense of being cheap. The fluffy Negitoro and the grilled mackerel, which has a finish like salted mackerel, are both delicious and full of flavor. Although it doesn't come with miso soup, the bowl has a decent volume and the taste is highly recommended, making me very satisfied.

☆A casual lunch trip with my wife! [Yodo Station, Kyoto City]! ⇒ This is a pretty popular restaurant with a line, but the turnover is fast so the wait time is short and easy! Parking is not available, so head to a coin parking lot. $ Orders! *"Squid Feast Bowl" 715 yen (tax included)… 3.5: The chewy and crispy squid with plenty of rice fills you up! The rice is lightly seasoned with vinegar. *"Fatty Tuna Bowl" 715 yen… 3.5: The rice portion is generous here too! The taste is rich and satisfying, but it becomes a bit one-dimensional towards the end, so it gets a bit boring. *"Uni, Salmon Roe, Negitoro Bowl (Mini)" 1133 yen… 3.7: Despite being called mini, the rice portion is the same as the above bowls so it's quite filling. The uni is delicious without any strong taste, the salmon roe is small but flavorful, and the negitoro, although overlapping with my wife's bowl, is a fantastic trio if ordered separately. *"Miso Soup" 88 yen x 2… 3.3: Pretty standard miso soup. Conclusion: Honestly, I'm sorry. I made a mistake with the order. The rice portion was too much, so I left almost 2/3 of the rice in the squid bowl. I'm sorry. Next time, I'll order "Uni" and "Salmon Roe" as toppings for the "Squid Feast Bowl". As for my wife's bowl, I'll have to think about it again. Be careful not to overeat, everyone. ♪ Thank you very much for always "liking", "saving the restaurant", and "following". Feel free to leave comments, questions, etc. It would make me very happy. ・ Please continue to support us in the future. Thank you very much.
