The restaurant is a ramen specialty store and there is always a line, sometimes requiring a wait of about 30 minutes to enter. The menu includes various types such as Miyako Ramen, Original Ramen, Kyoto White Miso, and God's Chinese Soba, making it a place where you can enjoy multiple visits. The side dishes also use Yagyū Munenori's rice, showing the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients. The taste is excellent, and although it has just opened in Ramen Alley, it is no exaggeration to say that it is the top restaurant. The ramen features 1.4mm thin straight noodles. The flavor of the soup intertwines with the noodles to create an exquisite taste. Although they also focus on the wheat, the soup is the main attraction. Soup: A masterpiece with a clear umami taste and a rich aroma of chicken white broth. It is characterized by a deep umami flavor. Chashu: The soy sauce flavor is vivid We use the "low-temperature aged thin noodles" that our store has perfected over many years. The noodles, which have a chewy texture but also a smoothness, go well with our famous "Gion White Broth" soup. Enjoy the exquisite texture of "soft and hard". Gion White Broth Soup of Kyoto The soup, which condenses the umami of chicken and the sweetness of plenty of vegetables, is carefully prepared to remove any impurities, and we have poured our heart and soul into being able to drink every last drop. The soup, prepared diligently every day, is filled with the selected ingredients' umami and the passion of the owner. Please enjoy our proud "Gion White Broth Soup". <Rice> The quality of the rice using the selected rice of Yagyū Munenori is quite good. I visited Miyako Ramen around 1:30 PM on a weekday. There was a small line, but I was able to get in after waiting for about 20-30 minutes. I ordered the Miyako Ramen with fried chicken set, and added extra Kujo green onions using a coupon from the app. The ramen had a slightly light and refreshing flavor, which I think would be recommended for women. Personally, I really enjoyed the juicy fried chicken with mayonnaise, and I finished it quickly by sprinkling some pepper. Next time I visit, I want to try the white miso ramen. *I forgot to take a picture of the rice and fried chicken.

On the 10th floor of Kyoto Station building, at the back of Ramen Lane, there is a newly opened Gion Ramen Kyoto. I ordered the "God's" Chuka Soba for 950 yen. The name is quite confident, following in the footsteps of some other "delicious" ramen places. Overall, it was a decent, above-average chicken soy sauce Chuka-style ramen. The soup was a nostalgic blend of chicken broth and bonito dashi, which was delicious. The noodles were thin and fitting for Kyoto. The three slices of chashu were a bit dry. The spinach and purple onions added a nice touch and made the ramen flavorful. However, the price of 950 yen seemed a bit high, perhaps due to the tourist location. The medium-sized glass of draft beer was a bit small.

On the 10th floor of Kyoto Station Building, there is Kyoto Ramen Koji (Ramen Street) where 9 famous ramen shops from all over Japan are gathered. There are 3 ramen shops from Kyoto, as well as shops from Sapporo, Toyama, Hakata, Tokushima, and more. This time, I visited "Kyoto Jukusei Hosomen Gion Ra-men Kyoto". The thin noodles and chicken white broth soup go perfectly together! Personally, I love thin noodles, so this ramen is one of my favorites. I also ordered gyoza and fried rice as a set. When I asked for vinegar to eat the gyoza, the shop didn't have any (sweat). However, they did have gyoza sauce and chili oil. The Kyoto Ra-men costs 880 yen and you purchase a ticket from the vending machine. You can pay with transportation IC cards or credit cards. Water is self-service, with cups on the table for pouring barley tea from a pot.

Located in Kyoto Ramen Koji, this is the Kyoto Station Building branch of "Raamen Kyo." I visited during Sunday lunchtime. I have been to Raamen Kyo's shops in Gion and Nara before, but this was my first time here. I chose this place thinking there wouldn't be much of a line, but to my surprise, the line was incredibly long, extending all the way to the restroom outside of Kyoto Ramen Koji. Despite my aversion to waiting in line, I ended up waiting for about 50 minutes before being seated. The interior of the restaurant is narrow with mostly counter seats and a few two-person table seats. The system is ticket-based, so you purchase your ticket before entering. The service inside was slow, and the turnover rate seemed low. Additionally, the customer service was not very impressive. The menu mainly consists of the basic pork broth soy sauce ramen, along with other variations like "God's Chinese noodles," chicken shio, "Aka," "Gensho," the Kyoto-exclusive white miso ramen, and the summer limited cold Chinese noodles. There are also a few a la carte options and set menus combining ramen with side dishes. On this day, I ordered the Meat Special Ramen for 1400 yen. The ramen arrived relatively quickly after I was seated in a small bowl. The cloudy soup with a bit of pork fat floating on top was topped with thinly sliced chashu, chicken thigh meat, menma, and green onions. Honestly, the portion and chashu quality were underwhelming compared to the menu photos. The soup had a base of chicken umami but had a relatively light aftertaste. It felt a bit weak or subtle in flavor. The noodles were thin straight noodles with a smooth surface, providing a moist texture. The chashu was thinly sliced and lightly seasoned, making the bowl look full but not particularly substantial. The chicken meat was also small, lacking the "special" quality. Overall, the bowl left me feeling unsatisfied. The price of 1400 yen may be due to the location, but the overall experience, including the service, left me disappointed and made me question if Raamen Kyo was always like this.

First stop on my business trip to Kyoto!! Went to Ramen Yokocho to try Kyosan's chicken paitan ramen, which has a perfect balance of richness and lightness! The flavored egg is a must. It was delicious! Since I'm in this alley, I wish I had a stomach that could handle ramen hopping. Thank you for the meal!

A ramen restaurant called "Ra-men Kyo" with its main store in Gion, has opened in Kyoto Ramen Koji. They are known for their "Gion Chicken White Broth" soup that brings out the umami and sweetness of Awa-Odori chicken and vegetables, as well as their "Special Tsurumochi Thin Noodles" aged at low temperatures. Their menu includes dishes like "Kyoto Ramen" based on chicken white broth and "God's Chinese Noodles" based on dashi broth, along with a limited edition "Kyoto White Miso Ramen." They have received high praise at various events nationwide, such as being the largest ramen event in Western Japan, placing 2nd at the Machida Ramen Festival in Tokyo for two consecutive years, and representing Kyoto at the Tokyo Ramen Show for three consecutive years.

I had lunch at the newly opened Tsubame Kyoto Station store in the Ramen Alley on the 10th floor of JR Kyoto Isetan. I purchased a ticket from the vending machine and sat down. I ordered the Kyoto-style ramen (small size) for 700 yen. The ramen arrived in just a few minutes, very fast! It was a soy sauce-based ramen with floating pork fat. The toppings included green onions, chashu pork, egg, and bamboo shoots, which were all classic choices. The soy sauce broth was quite light. I personally prefer it to have a bit more richness and flavor. The noodles were thin and slurp-worthy.

This shop, which opened as a new store on June 20th on Kyoto Ramen Street, is a chain store with its main store located in Gion, Kyoto. I visited the shop after 9pm and there was a line formed outside. I purchased a ticket for their signature dish "Miyakora Ramen" (880 yen) and waited in line. The bowl came with chashu, menma, seasoned egg, and chopped green onions. The white chicken and vegetable-based broth with added lard had a rich flavor, balanced with a mild acidity from soy sauce and a gentle saltiness. The homemade straight thin noodles had a good texture and slurped down smoothly. The chashu was made from pork belly, seasoned to bring out the meaty flavor while the seasoned egg was soft-boiled, adding richness to the soup. As it is a chain store, the taste may be familiar to those in Kyoto, but for travelers looking to experience Kyoto's ramen, this shop may be a good choice.

I wanted to visit Ramen Kyoto in Gion, and luckily they opened a branch in Kyoto Ramen Koji. I happened to be in Kyoto for work and went on their second day of opening. I arrived around 10:30 am and there were already people lined up. I ordered the Kyoto Ramen, which was delicious. The flavor was stronger than it looked. The portion was a bit small, though. I wanted more!

I visited the restaurant on June 20, 2023, Tuesday, before 6:00 PM. The location is where the Taiwan maze soba fireworks were held before. I bought a meal ticket at the ticket machine first and lined up with 8 people. I had to wait for about 15 minutes due to bad timing. After that, I had to wait again at the designated counter seat... It might be a timing and operation issue. Since it's the first day of the restaurant, it can't be helped. The ramen is a mild chicken white broth. The pepper on the table goes well with it. The chashu and menma are delicious too! It doesn't feel like a place that Kyoto people would specifically come to, but it might be good for tourists.

Today, I visited "Kyoto Ramen Street" on the 10th floor of Kyoto Station Building for dinner. I went to a ramen shop that opened in June 20, 2023. ■ Gion La-men Kyo (Miyako) Kyoto Station Building Store Gion La-men Kyo is a chain of Kyoto ramen that follows the tradition of Takaya, and it is a relatively familiar ramen shop for the people of Kyoto. It seems that Gion La-men Kyo has also expanded to Kyoto Station, known as the "gateway to Kyoto" (^-^) I purchased a meal ticket at the ticket vending machine first, and then lined up. The "Miyako La-men" with chicken white broth base is the most popular, and the "God's Chinese soba" with agodashi base is the second most popular. The ramen is mostly under 1,000 yen, giving a reasonable impression among the shops in Kyoto Ramen Street. The rice bowls use carefully selected rice from the long-established rice shop "Yatsudai Gyobee" in Kyoto. As it was the opening day, we waited for about 30 minutes before being seated in the restaurant. The main counter seats were in the long main store. Since I have been to Gion La-men Kyo many times, this time I chose a limited menu from this store in Kyoto Ramen Street. ● Kyoto White Miso La-men This limited menu seems to be a basic ramen with added white miso. Toppings included two slices of chashu, spinach, seasoned egg, red onion, and yuzu. The combination of chicken white broth and white miso created a high-salt impact. The refreshing scent of yuzu was also present. The low-temperature aged thin noodles had a delicious umami flavor on their own, and they tasted great when mixed with the soup. The large, thinly sliced chashu had a satisfying texture. It was nice to have two pieces of this size. The refreshing taste of yuzu made the dish enjoyable until the end. The portion size was just right. Gion La-men Kyo has its main store in Gion and is a popular shop among foreign tourists. It's great to be able to easily enjoy it at Kyoto Station!

On June 14, 2019, "Hanabi Kyoto Ramen Komachi Store" opened, but unfortunately closed on May 31st. However, on June 20th, a new store called "Ra-men Kyo Kyoto Station Building Store" opened in Kyoto. The name "Ra-men Kyo" sounds very Kyoto-like, but surprisingly there are only two stores in Kyoto (this store being the third). I visited one of their three stores in Himeji before, so I was excited to try it out in Kyoto. I ordered the "Kamisama no Chuka Soba" for 950 yen.

Soy sauce, chicken with salt, and white miso are all available. The taste doesn't have any strong features, but it's easy to eat without any strong flavors.

Hmm. I don't think this restaurant is up to the standards of Ramen Alley. The soup, noodles, and toppings should be offered at a lower price.
