Ordered the premium casual drinking set. The potato salad was delicious, lol. The horse sashimi was thinly sliced and small, even from a biased perspective, it's about the size of one normal slice. This size might be easy to eat for the fatty parts, but isn't it too small overall? The condiments included grated ginger, chopped green onions, and sliced onions. It doesn't come with garlic, which I personally wish it did, along with powdered red pepper or gochujang. The soy sauce wasn't as sweet as I feared (Kyushu soy sauce is usually sweet), but the dashi was too strong, making it hard to distinguish between the taste of the horse meat and the dashi. What is "Kyoto horse sashimi" sent directly from Kumamoto? Is it a refined horse sashimi to be eaten with garlic-free dashi soy sauce? The soy sauce dipping dish was too small and difficult to use. The horse meat itself was not bad, and the service was very friendly, but I don't think it's worth the price. It may be a ridiculous request, but if it's 2178 yen for this content, I would like another drink included.

Today, two of us visited this restaurant. It was cheap, delicious, and we were truly satisfied. Once you try the horse sashimi at this place, you won't be able to eat it anywhere else. Also, I love alcohol, so I was really happy with the wide variety of sake and shochu available.

I often passed by a shop in Saiin that caught my attention, and it recently opened in Sanjo-kai Shotenkai, so I went there right away. They have a variety of meats besides horse meat, such as pork. The "slightly tipsy set" includes horse sashimi and side dishes, which I think is a good choice to start with. Personally, I was lucky to find pickled lotus root with mustard. The soy sauce is a sweet one from Kyushu, which reminded me of my trip to Kumamoto. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Higotsudo, a horse meat specialty store in Sanjo-kai Shotengai. The horse meat is directly delivered from Kumamoto. While the main store is located in Nishin, a branch opened in Sanjo-kai Shotengai this April, so I stopped by for lunch. They offer horse meat steak, teppanyaki, rice bowls, and more, but I still love horse sashimi the most. I'd like to try other menu items next time. #KyotoFood #KyotoLunch
