I had the opportunity to go to Umekoji Park, so I went to Umekoji Fermentation Brewery and had shaved ice. The place seemed small from the outside, but it was actually quite spacious inside. The menu offered three types of shaved ice: red bean, sudachi (Japanese citrus), and now pineapple. You could also add additional toppings like recommended sake, recommended fruit liqueur, or plum syrup (non-alcoholic). I chose pineapple shaved ice with plum syrup, which was a nice and refreshing combination. The white balls (shiratama) were served separately, adding a chewy texture to the dessert. Overall, it was a delicious and enjoyable experience.

We spent half a day at the Kyoto Railway Museum and Umekoji Park. After riding the Chin Chin train that is preserved in motion, we took a snack break and stumbled upon this place called Potel. It seems to be a shop where you can enjoy alcoholic drinks as well as drinks and sweets made with non-alcoholic sweet sake. We sat on swing seats and enjoyed a sweet sake smoothie. The flavors were strawberry and matcha. The strawberry was so good that my child almost finished it all, so I only had a taste, but it was made with plenty of fresh strawberries. The matcha flavor was rich and slightly bitter. I love sweet sake, so I really enjoyed it. Inside the shop, they also sell Japanese sake selected from all over the country and unique types of alcohol. My husband bought a few bottles.

Azuki Sweet Sake Kakigori for 1320 yen. It was my first time trying sweet sake kakigori, and I really liked it. Sweet sake is nutritious and seems well-suited for Kyoto's high humidity kakigori. It was a unique experience. They have a variety of sake, so I would like to go back and try more. I'm also curious about Delaware wine. I remember there was a hammock-like chair that was fun.

I had a spiced plum wine. It had a nice blend of star anise, clove, and black pepper, and was delicious. My husband had White Kiku URANISHI, an unfiltered sake, and I tried it too. It was refreshing and tasty!

I visited a shop that recently opened in Umekoji Park called Umekoji Poter. Originally, I wanted to go to the Poteyu in the hotel and went to Umekoji Park for that. They are located across the hallway from each other. The Poteyu offers post-bath drinks that you can enjoy at Umekoji Fermentation Brewery. It seems like a place where you can enjoy alcohol and snacks on the spot. Since it is themed around fermentation, they also plan to hold workshops. However, due to the current situation with COVID-19, it seems like they are unable to do so. As the name suggests, they have a wide selection of plum wine. Personally, I like sweet drinks, so I appreciate the variety of plum wines they offer. They also have a wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks. The grape juice and plum juice from the brewery are served in glasses like alcohol. Other drinks like cider are self-service where you pick up pre-packaged items from a refrigerator-like area and bring them to the register. They also sell alcohol. During the state of emergency, it seems like they are only selling alcohol. I wanted to enjoy the feeling of drinking alcohol, so I ordered plum juice. It was a delicious and rich plum juice. Since they have a variety of sweet drinks, I would like to revisit. The shop is beautiful and the staff explain about the alcohol, so it was comfortable for a woman to spend time there alone. I was a bit hesitant about drinking alone, but it seems like a place where you can enjoy it like a cafe.

I love Coca-Cola, and recently discovered that they also have cola in addition to beer. It was not too sweet and had a nostalgic taste, which I found delicious.

I wanted to sit on the stylish and fun swing chair. The sweet sake smoothie was too sweet for my liking, but everything else was delicious!

The limited edition Amazake smoothie (pineapple coconut) was delicious. It was rich and creamy, recommended for those who like Amazake and koji (children's preferences may vary). It's fun to try different drinks from various regions. The interior of the shop is stylish, with a wide selection of alcohol that makes you want to buy some to take home. It's a great place to take a break. The swing chairs are unique.

Attracted by the name Fermentation Station, I entered. The smoothie was delicious. I am very interested in koji products, sake, and more.
