When I asked my family what Kyoto souvenir would be good, they suggested "3-color Danish," so I went to look for it. The classic 3-color combination is indeed beautiful. I bought a set of two limited edition flavors, "Sakura" and "Fondant Chocolat Oreo." Sakura has a combination of strawberry dough and sweet red bean paste, which is absolutely delicious. Fondant Chocolat Oreo is rich and surprisingly good!

The second Kyoto souvenir is here, "GRAND MARBLE". It's a famous shop known for its marble Danish bread. I wanted to try it once, so when I found it at Kyoto Station while looking for souvenirs, I immediately decided to buy it. The shop has a stylish and luxurious feel with orange and brown color scheme. The packaging is also stylish with the same color scheme, and it can last for over 10 days, making it a great gift. They had more than 8 types of bread available, and I was surprised by the variety. Unfortunately, some were sold out, like the Kyoto Station limited "Black Sugar Milk Kinako" and the beautiful "Kyoto Three Colors". I ended up buying the limited edition "Fondant Chocolat". I was excited to try it at home. First, I tried it as it is. The "Fondant Chocolat (as is)" was delicious, very chocolatey with chocolate chips mixed in the Danish dough. The dough was moist with a crispy outer layer. The rich sweetness of the chocolate was delicious, with a hint of bitterness, like a sweet bread. Next, I toasted it. The aroma of chocolate filled the air. The "Fondant Chocolat (toasted)" was also delicious, with a crispy texture and a more intense chocolate flavor. The chocolate chips melted and became gooey. It truly felt like a "Fondant Chocolat". It was a delightful experience to enjoy it in two different ways. It's no wonder it's popular.

I received Maple Caramel bread. It was a very delicious bread. It's good as it is, but it was even better toasted for about 1 minute. However, when it comes to this kind of high-quality bread, I think the best one so far is from a bread specialty shop called 5 (Five) in Toyama Prefecture. I also enjoy bread from Nishikawa, Nogami, and Tsuini Kitanene (bread by Takuya Kishimoto). I think they are all delicious, but I may have an unsophisticated palate.

Before heading back, let's do a bit more souvenir shopping at Kyoto Station. Let's buy some Danish pastries to take home. Since the "Maple Caramel" I received before was delicious, I decided to purchase it again. The Maple Caramel costs 1296 yen (tax included). And for my daughter's friend, I got the Marble Crunch! This is a chocolate snack that combines crunchy marble Danish and chocolate in an orange-colored cute bag-shaped package. Let's cut it and try it as it is first. It's a dense type of bread with a good weight to it. When I had it before, it felt moist, but this time the surface seems a bit dry, which is a bit disappointing. Of course, let's also try toasting it. The crispy parts of the Danish become crunchy, and this is undeniably delicious. The fact that it's not too sweet is also great. It made for a tasty snack. Thank you for the meal!

Located in the JR Kyoto Station, this souvenir corner looks like a fancy jewelry shop at first glance. The colorful danishes displayed in the showcase are truly beautiful. There were many flavors available, but I chose the classic "Kyoto Three Colors". It came in an Hermes-like orange box, exuding a sense of luxury. It almost feels like a waste to eat it. The marbled appearance is distinctive. The danish is kneaded into the dough. It is smaller than regular bread but feels dense. When sliced with a knife, the matcha, strawberry, and plain layers are beautifully intertwined. After lightly toasting it, the danish is moist and crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. The three flavors complement each other perfectly without overpowering. It was delicious, living up to its luxurious price.

At one point, Danish specialty stores became extremely popular. There are various flavors to choose from, and the convenient locations of each store are a plus. The factory store has been selected as one of the top 100 stores. On a holiday before 5:30 PM, there was only one group of customers ahead of me. The store is located in a place with many souvenir shops right in front of the JR ticket gate, so customers are constantly coming in.

Orange Mango Danish - ¥1728
This is a limited-time product. I bought it once a long time ago and thought, "It's not bad, but it's just too expensive." (Sorry) So, I think this is my first purchase in nearly 10 years. I happened to see the flavor on the website and thought it looked delicious, so I revisited. But yeah, it's still too expensive (^_^;) The box has a high-class feel with colors reminiscent of a certain luxury brand, but paying nearly 2,000 yen for a small Danish... I wonder how much each slice costs.
It seems like a good choice for people living in Kyoto to buy as a souvenir, but it might be a bit hard to justify for oneself. It's not that it's not delicious, but it's just not quite worth the price for me to be impressed. I wish it was a bit more special and delicious for this price range. (Sorry) Sorry for being critical. Thank you for the meal.

On July 2nd (Saturday) and 3rd (Sunday), I enjoyed a bread tour in the Kansai area using the JR Summer Kansai One-Day Pass! Let me introduce the visited shops in order! Shop visited 9: "Gran Marble Kyoto Station Store" This is a famous Danish bread shop originating in Kyoto. The factory store is also listed in the top 100 on Tabelog. The Marble Danish bread loaves are lined up in various colors. The prices are a bit high, but I thought they would make great gifts. The flavors include: - Kyoto Three Colors - Maple Caramel - Prestige - Apple and Walnut Pudding Danish - Gion Tsujiri Matcha Bean Paste - Chocolat Chocolat - Cheese Bacon - Mocha Chocolat - Doji Fromage - Chestnut and Red Bean Gion Tsujiri Special Limited Edition products include Gion Tsujiri Hojicha Black Sugar Chocolat, Orange Mango, Blueberry, and Fromage Chocolat Special Edition. There are also Dumarble series where you can enjoy two flavors in one loaf. The flavors are: - Chocolat Chocolat & Maple Caramel - Love Marble (Strawberry Milky and White Chocolate) But do you notice something, everyone? Even though it's not classified as Dumarble, there is a product where you can enjoy three flavors. That's the Kyoto Three Colors! I already made up my mind about my order as soon as I arrived at the store. But I still took a look at the menu (^_^;) I got it in a really nice box. It's a luxury bread thing, right? I split this amazing bread into two parts, enjoying one in the morning and the other for lunch on July 13th (Wednesday). It weighed 408g. At 371kcal per 100g, it's over 1500kcal for the whole loaf (^_^;) Well, it's a luxurious treat for the mind, right? Now, in the morning, I had two slices (128g). One as it is and the other toasted. Moist, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth texture. The slight bitterness of matcha, the sweet and sourness of strawberries, all harmonize and create a heavenly experience in your mouth. Just two slices can make you feel so happy, and for lunch, I had the remaining chunk (280g) all at once (laughs) With the energy and mood boost, I felt like I could work harder than usual in the afternoon (laughs) Next time I go to Kyoto, I'd like to try other flavors! I was drawn to it at the station, they had various flavors of marble, including seasonal flavors like sakura and mont blanc. Surprisingly, they also last for a while, making them great as souvenirs. They are only sold in Kansai and were very popular. I plan to buy them again. Thank you for the meal.

While searching for souvenirs, I discovered the delicious Grand Marbre Danish pastry. I bought a winter limited edition box of 4 Patisserie Cristal pastries with fondant chocolate and berries for ¥1188 (tax included). Whether eaten as is or lightly toasted, it is moist and fluffy. It's my favorite Danish pastry with a crispy and fluffy texture.

I received a famous seasonal limited mango from Grandma Marble as a souvenir. I was happy because you have to wait in line to buy it. I'm not a fan of mangoes, so I was a bit unsure, but the dried mango and orange flavors changed the mango smell into something refreshing. I toasted it a bit and enjoyed it.

The price is high!! But whenever I go to Kyoto, I always buy Danish pastries. There are many different types, including seasonal flavors. But my personal favorite is the "Kyoto Three Colors" Danish pastry, which is made with plain, strawberry, and matcha dough marbled together and baked. It's irresistible. When you eat it plain, you can really taste the strawberry and matcha flavors. (I once got scolded by my husband for putting butter on it when baking. Apparently, butter masks the flavors of the ingredients.) It may seem expensive for a pastry, but I highly recommend trying it at least once! It will make your breakfast a happy one!

I ended up buying it because I got caught up in the hype, even though I'm a sucker for trendy things f^_^; There were various flavors available, but this time I chose the matcha and strawberry marble. I wanted to try both flavors (*≧∀≦*) Unfortunately, the cheese flavor was sold out. Some other reviewers mentioned that it's good to lightly toast it, so I did just that. When I tried it, the Danish pastry was crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, with a nice buttery aroma. The matcha and strawberry flavors were both distinct and well-balanced. I forgot to mention the box, but it has a stylish orange color, making it a great gift that would be appreciated (╹◡╹)

I was told to bring souvenirs when I went to Kyoto, so I tried ordering this one. It's delicious to eat as it is, but as written in the description, lightly toasting it makes it crispy and the sweetness increases, making it even more delicious.

I had seen this product on TV before and decided to try it out when I stumbled upon it. It turned out to be unexpectedly delicious. There are various flavors available, but this time I chose the most popular one from the limited edition, Gion Tsujiri Hojicha Black Sugar Chocolate. It comes in a one-pound size, neatly packaged in an orange box, with a shelf life of about 10 days. I recommend lightly toasting it before eating. The flavors of hojicha, black sugar, and chocolate blend together perfectly, and it was so delicious that it disappeared in no time. I would like to try other flavors as well.

"Gran Marble" bread, featured on TV and rapidly gaining popularity. I tried the "Kyoto Tricolor" flavor last time and it was delicious, so this time I'm trying the "Chocola Chocola" flavor. At first glance, it looks more like a baked good than bread. When you open the package, a sweet aroma wafts out, enticing your appetite. When sliced, you can see a marble pattern with caramel and plain dough roughly kneaded together, exuding a sense of luxury. Like last time, I sliced it to a thickness of about 1.5-2.0cm, toasted it slightly, and then tried it. Crunchy... The texture of the bread when you take a bite. Fluffy... The softness of the Danish dough hitting your tongue. Chewy... The chewiness of the bread itself. I enjoy this mouthfeel more than the taste itself. It's incredibly delicious. The flavor is very light, with no overly sweet taste like a baked good, and not just the wheat flavor of bread but also a subtle hint of chocolate adding a nice touch. If eaten as is, Kyoto Tricolor may taste better in my opinion. However, what about as a snack for a tea party? Chocola Chocola is also a good choice. Regardless, both are delicious when toasted. That's the bottom line.

The other day, I saw a TV news program featuring Grandma Marble's bread. It was highlighted as part of the high-end bread trend in Kansai. Intrigued, my family and I decided to try it. We found out that Grandma Marble has a store at Kyoto Isetan in Kyoto Station. We bought the "Kyoto Three Colors" for 1,080 yen. The bread came in a luxurious box, more like a baked good than bread. It's a mix of matcha, strawberry, and plain dough, each distinctively visible in the sliced loaf. When eaten as is, the bread was soft with a slightly chewy texture. However, I found it lacking in freshness. But when sliced and lightly toasted in a toaster, the aroma was delightful. The crispy outer layer, fluffy inside, and creamy Danish dough on the side made it truly delicious. The matcha and strawberry flavors were enhanced when toasted. I recommend toasting the bread before eating it. I'm now a fan and eager to try more flavors. It's a bit pricey, but worth it.

I received a Marble Danish Prestige. Inside the beautiful orange-red box, there is a Danish bread wrapped in vinyl packaging. The exterior has a beautiful baked color resembling marble. The pastry has a relatively firm texture, perhaps due to the layers of dough being more tightly packed. The taste is slightly lacking in richness, possibly because margarine is used. The impression is that the saltiness is slightly stronger than the sweetness. The sturdy outer box makes it a good choice for souvenirs as it won't crumble.

I was traveling by train that day, and on my way back to Kyoto, I stopped by and bought some bread at Gran Marble near the ticket gate. I had bought it before in Osaka Dojima and remembered how delicious it was. There seems to be a "bread war" going on now with various high-end breads available, but this bread suited my taste and was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Yesterday, I saw it on Kenmin Show and suddenly felt like eating it. I went to Grandma Marble Kyoto Station store. It opened in Miyako at Kyoto Station. I would prefer the Grandma Marble Factory store where you can find fresh bread. It had been a while since I last had it, but it was simply delicious.

Located in the Kansai region (Kyoto and Osaka), GRAND MARBLE is a specialty store that combines Japanese and Western ingredients into beautiful marble-patterned Danish pastries. The chic shop, with an orange color scheme, is situated in front of the west exit of JR Kyoto Station on the 2nd floor, inside "Kyoto Miyako," a popular spot for Kyoto souvenirs and cuisine. With convenient access at Kyoto Station and operating hours from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm, it's now easier to purchase marble Danish pastries. Among the regular and seasonal flavors available, one cannot help but be drawn to the vividly colored Kyoto Three-Color set, featuring matcha, strawberry, and plain flavors for 1,080 yen. With each bite, the flavors and sweetness of matcha and strawberry come through beautifully. Even lightly toasted, they are delicious.
