The food is great, but the location is amazing. The view from the glass wall is like a dream, showcasing the quintessential Kyoto scenery. Watching the sunset over the mountain ridges, observing the changing colors of the sky and the cityscape, seeing the staff prepare meals efficiently, and the reactions of foreign customers - everything is enjoyable. The sizzling sound of food being cooked on the iron plate, the fragrant aroma, the clinking of utensils and dishes, even the sounds of food preparation stimulate the senses, making words unnecessary, almost wanting to stay silent. The setting sun can be quite dazzling as it sets directly in front of you, but once it dips behind the mountains and the magic hour begins, the atmosphere changes. Gion at night has a slightly mysterious vibe, with warm-toned light bathing the wooden structures and the Yasaka Pagoda, creating a unique evening ambiance. Despite the great location, most of the tourists in Kyoto during the week were foreigners, making it feel like being on a foreign trip while actually in Kyoto. There was a rude customer demanding more truffles and better parts of bread, which was amusing in a way. The staff handled the situation with patience, even when the customer complained about the seating arrangement. The food was delicious, with a healthy and visually appealing presentation, albeit a bit pricey. Apologies for the long review.

The main dining restaurant at Park Hyatt Kyoto, "Yasaka," is an interesting concept where Chef Kanpei Hisaoka, who earned a Michelin star at "LATRUFFIERE" in Paris, expresses French culinary techniques through teppanyaki. With only 10 counter seats in a formation of 2 teppanyaki grills, the restaurant offers a breathtaking view of Kyoto's iconic landmarks including Yasaka Tower. The drinks are quite expensive, with a 15% service charge that hits hard. We opted for a relatively affordable bottle of Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs, but regretted not trying the well-crafted pairing menu enjoyed by the neighboring diners. The French influence is evident in the elaborate amuse-bouche served. Enjoying champagne while watching the sunset is a moment of pure joy for me. The onion soufflé, made by heating partially cooked onions on the teppanyaki grill and torching them, is a delightful dish. The "Aka-ashi Ebi" shrimp from Wakayama, known for its intense sweetness, is a challenge to handle but a flavorful treat. The "Okikasago" fish, also from Wakayama, has a rich and succulent texture, paired perfectly with a butter blanc sauce. The bread, made with natural yeast, has a simple yet profound flavor. The palate cleanser with layered acidity prepares us for the main course. I chose the pigeon, a unique teppanyaki dish with perfectly cooked meat and crispy skin. The Wagyu beef fillet chosen by my companion was delicious but not particularly remarkable. The meal concludes with a creative dish of grilled rice balls with sakura shrimp in dashi broth, a unique teppanyaki twist. The dessert, a freshly made mille-feuille on the teppanyaki grill, is a sweet delight. A herb tea is served to finish the meal. The total cost for a course meal and a bottle of champagne for two came to 36,000 yen per person, which felt a bit pricey. However, considering the luxurious setting and unique concept of French cuisine prepared on a teppanyaki grill, the experience was worth applauding. The stunning view added to the romantic atmosphere, making it a memorable dining experience.

This is a wonderful teppanyaki restaurant located on the 4th floor of the Park Hyatt in Kyoto. The view of Kyoto from here is truly breathtaking, whether during the day or at night! I don't think there is a better view than this. The food is excellent, with every dish being top-notch. Children are also welcome, so they can enjoy the view as well. If you are staying at the Park Hyatt, be sure to visit this restaurant.

This is the best teppanyaki I've ever had! Before starting the course, we had two dishes - the Camembert, which I usually find too porky but this one was surprisingly fragrant and paired well with the champagne. Then came the sea bream, which tasted just like the ocean! It was fresh and light. Next was the famous caviar uni, large shrimp, and potato pancake. It was my first time having so much caviar, and while the taste was unique, I couldn't quite grasp the umami flavor. The shrimp, however, was incredibly delicious! The foie gras was a bit too gamey for my liking, but the lobster with mushroom and vinegar was heavenly! The bouillabaisse had a strong buttery aroma and a hint of Chinese hot and sour soup flavor - I wanted to turn it into risotto! The Saga beef fillet was a rare treat, with a generous portion of tender lean meat that was surprisingly moist. The vanilla salt was intensely fragrant, enhancing the meat's flavor. For dessert, I chose the cheese plate with fruit bread, which paired perfectly with the wine. The fig tart and ice cream were moist and delicious. The wine pairings were all light and refreshing, complementing the meal perfectly. The ambiance and unique night view were stunning, and before we knew it, four hours had flown by.

Yasaka is a restaurant located in the Park Hyatt at the heart of Higashiyama. With an open kitchen, you can enjoy a luxurious time while overlooking the beautiful view of Kyoto city, with Yasaka Pagoda right in front of you. There are three course options to choose from: 5, 6, or 7 courses. This time, we had the 6-course meal. The menu included: - Pancake with sea urchin, shrimp, and caviar, a luxurious combination. - Scallop, blood sausage, and pumpkin. - Seasonal fresh fish. - Hanbang Wagyu fillet with special sauce, wasabi, vanilla salt, and more for added enjoyment. - Pork bone and black garlic oil dashi chazuke. - Shaved ice with a twist. - Fig granita, spiced ice cream. - Petit fours. The homemade bread was also delicious! As a parting gift, we received canelé. It was a fulfilling time enjoying delicious food while taking in the changing scenery in front of us.

This is teppanyaki at Park Hyatt Kyoto. We used it for a family member's birthday. First of all, the atmosphere and the view are amazing. The pagoda and Kyoto Tower look very beautiful, and the sunset behind the mountains was perfect. The dishes look very stylish. The taste is delicious, but in terms of value for money, it's a bit on the higher side. However, considering the location, the price is justified. I think it's good for when you prioritize atmosphere over food.

I stayed at the Park Hyatt Kyoto and decided to dine at the top floor teppanyaki restaurant called Yasaka. It offers innovative teppanyaki with a stunning view of the Kiyomizu-dera temple's pagoda. The best time to visit is during sunset, with amuse-bouche and champagne pairing well. The dishes like potato pancakes with roasted shrimp and caviar, French roast pigeon, and blue lobster were delicious. The meat was good, but the vanilla salt was too sweet for me. I preferred to eat it with plenty of wasabi or just regular salt and pepper. The meal ended with grilled rice balls in dashi broth, which was tasty, but I was craving garlic rice. Overall, dining on teppanyaki with a breathtaking view is a must-try experience.

Located at Park Hyatt Kyoto, the teppanyaki restaurant Yashirooftop offers a dining experience with a view of Kyoto's scenery. Adjacent to the bar Kohaku, the restaurant features a counter with 8 seats facing the teppan grill, with the opposite side offering a window for guests to enjoy the view. On this particular day with good weather, we arrived early enough to also enjoy the sunset. The food itself, being from Park Hyatt's restaurant, was delicious. When it comes to teppanyaki, garlic rice is a staple, but here they serve grilled rice balls with dashi poured over them, creating a Kyoto-style teppanyaki dish. It was a delightful meal.

This is a teppanyaki restaurant located in a Hyatt Regency in a very Kyoto-like location. The counter seats offer a picturesque view of the Goju-no-to Pagoda, Kyoto Tower, and Kyoto mountains. The recommended time to visit is during the magical hour in the evening, starting from the 5:00 opening time to enjoy the changing scenery while savoring the food. The weather was great, so the view was truly beautiful. Highly recommended for a date! There are two types of omakase courses, with 5 or 7 dishes. Today, we had the 7-dish course. First, they cooked pancakes and topped them with shrimp, sea urchin, and caviar. Such a luxurious pancake you won't find anywhere else. Duck, scallop, white asparagus, and mackerel were cooked in front of us on the teppan, which was both enjoyable and educational to watch. Finally, Iga wagyu fillet and sirloin were served. The meat was incredibly delicious and tender. I was quite full by the end. They had a variety of teas for after the meal, and I chose one that boosts immunity. As a souvenir, I received canelé and cookies, which made me very satisfied. I reminisced about the experience when I got home. All the dishes were delicious, and the hotel itself had a calm atmosphere, which was really nice. Thank you for the wonderful meal today.

Visited a restaurant that just opened at the end of October 2019. Located right in the middle of Kodai-ji Temple, which is probably the best location among the many luxury hotels in Kyoto. The view overlooking Kyoto Tower and Kodai-ji Temple is breathtaking. Having a meal here during the magic hour feels incredibly luxurious. The fact that Park Hyatt Kyoto has brought in a French chef who has won Michelin stars in Paris shows their commitment to excellence. The course menu is elegant and fulfilling, far beyond what you would expect for the price of 18,000 yen. The unique teppanyaki with a French twist is truly one-of-a-kind. It's impressive how this level of hotel can offer dinner at such a reasonable price. I have a feeling this will become a popular spot for dates. Considering the hotel's accommodation fees, the restaurant feels surprisingly affordable - it's almost too good to be true! I hope they can maintain their initial spirit without raising prices. I look forward to visiting again and am curious about how the menu changes with the seasons.

I stayed at this hotel for a week and decided to visit this restaurant. I enjoyed cocktails at the neighboring bar "Kohaku" while watching the sunset, and when the sun had set, I walked about 20 steps to this restaurant and had a wonderful teppanyaki meal. I already knew that the food here was fantastic because the Wagyu beef jerky I had at "Kohaku" was incredibly tender and flavorful. Many people seem to want this amazing beef jerky as a souvenir, but it is a specialty only available at this bar. At the moment, the course options are as follows: 5 dishes for 18,000 yen per person, 7 dishes for 26,000 yen per person, and 8 dishes for 30,000 yen per person. I always ordered the 7-dish course, but the 5-dish course should be sufficient. If you still feel a bit peckish later, there is a superb Chinese restaurant called "Ichigai" nearby, so no problem there (laughs). The best recommended seats are the ones on the right just after entering. Not only do you have a direct view, but the right side is also transparent, allowing for a wider view of the night scenery. Otherwise, any seat at the counter, whether in the front or back, is also good. By a certain age, you should have visited most of Kyoto's famous tourist spots, and even if they are wonderful, with a keen sense of aesthetics, visiting 2-3 places a day is the limit. For adults who work hard in their jobs and may not have time for souvenirs, for example, take a day off and head to Kyoto in the early afternoon, have 1-2 cocktails at Park Hyatt Kyoto's "Kohaku" at sunset, then have an early dinner at "Yasaka" here before taking the last train back to Tokyo. Just doing this will give you a level of satisfaction where you can fully enjoy Kyoto. The greatness of such a space can only be truly appreciated with the money you have earned. Am I being stingy? I don't want to bring someone who cannot appreciate each aspect of the view, decor, and service with a sharp palate and sensibility (laughs). Due to reservations from local dignitaries, the restaurant is quite busy even during the pandemic, so reservations are essential. Once the COVID situation calms down, it will be difficult to spend such a time in Kyoto. To become a cool person in your 40s, it is essential to experience some financial difficulties or embarrassment in your 20s and 30s. Gentlemen, try to experience the top-level service of such world-class hotels as much as possible. *For business meetings, special adult dates, or showing filial piety.

Opened last autumn, the teppanyaki restaurant at Park Hyatt Kyoto offers a unique dining experience. The luxurious hotel, located on the south side of Kodai-ji Temple, is built along the mountainside. Despite being a 5-story building, each floor is connected to the ground, giving it a mysterious feel. The mountain's soba noodles are a must-try.

Visited during a stay. Opted for the five-course meal starting at 18,000 yen (year-end menu). Was not particularly impressed by the meal. I have tried teppanyaki at various restaurants, and this one was just average for its class. The view would have been great during the day, but it was hard to appreciate at night. It was disappointing that they didn't serve the usual garlic rice that comes with teppanyaki meals.

I visited for a New Year's meal and found out that they only offer a 30,000 yen course. Despite high expectations from Park Hyatt, everything was just average. We ended up spending 100,000 yen for two people, including a bottle of wine. The quality and quantity were a bit lacking. Even the view of Yasaka Pagoda couldn't make up for it.
