On this day, I was working in Uji City (=゚ω゚)ノ. I was paired up with our company's foreman (NO.2) for work. Lately, I've been working with the foreman more and more. The foreman is set to retire next year, but he seems like he'll be active for another 10 years. Naturally, I have lunch with the foreman when we work together, but there's one problem. The foreman, who is married, doesn't have to make a bento box for his wife because she's not a morning person due to health reasons, so he's a nice guy. However, when it comes to lunch, he always suggests going to a convenience store for food, and I can't stand convenience store meals. I vowed to never eat convenience store food, but the foreman always insists on going there for lunch. It's like two parallel lines that will never intersect. So, on this day, as expected, we ended up going to a convenience store for lunch. We arrived at a convenience store near the site, but the parking lot was full. I suggested a good ramen shop nearby, but the foreman insisted on going to another convenience store a little further away. We ended up at a convenience store at the corner of the entrance road to the Uji Higashi Interchange on the Kyoto-Shiga Bypass. Across the intersection, there was a Sukiya restaurant. It was better than convenience store food, I guess. The foreman and I went to Sukiya to have lunch. It had been a while since I had lunch at a major beef bowl chain. We entered the restaurant, which was crowded during lunchtime. Sukiya offers a variety of beef bowl options, but I decided to go with the classic beef bowl. As I was looking at the menu, I came across a "Mini Curry Set." It was a tempting set where you could have a little curry with your beef bowl. I fell for it and ordered the Mini Curry Set with a regular beef bowl. The set arrived quickly. The curry had chunks of potatoes, carrots, and meat, just like in the menu photo. It was a bit exaggerated, but there were indeed plenty of large pieces in the curry. I wondered if they used the same retort curry as Matsuya. Well, it's not as good as homemade curry, but it's better than convenience store food. I started eating the curry, which was on the sweet side, like children's curry. It's a flavor that everyone can enjoy. The curry had large pieces of ingredients, which was nice. Overall, it was a good meal.
