Today's lunch at K's Shokudo is "Sushi Izakaya K's Shokudo". It is an izakaya located at the intersection of Kujo Shin-Senbon in Minami Ward, Kyoto City. I have tried to go for lunch a few times, but it seems that they are not open regularly on Saturdays. Today, I saw a lunch banner outside, so I decided to give it a try. The entrance has a blackboard with various set meals lined up. Inside the restaurant, there are 4-person tables near the entrance, followed by a counter and 2-person tables along the wall, all tightly packed. The counter is divided by partitions and feels a bit cramped. I ordered the recommended "Sashimi Set Meal (5 kinds)" for 690 yen, discounted from 790 yen. It's a great deal. There is a lot of information on the walls, including options for ochazuke and dinner. The food was served quickly. The miso soup was average. The salad consisted of shredded cabbage with ham on top, dressed with a ponzu-like dressing. The side dish was macaroni salad with plenty of mayonnaise sauce. The main sashimi included bonito, yellowtail, salmon, tsubugai (whelk), and squid, but the plate looked a bit empty. It was a bit disappointing to have only one piece of squid. Overall, you can enjoy affordable seafood at this izakaya for lunch.

★The atmosphere was casual with a mix of counter and table seating. The counter had a wall decorated with thousands of sacred Shinto papers. There were dividers at the counter seats for COVID-19 prevention measures. It was a bit disappointing that smoking was allowed, but the ventilation was good enough that I didn't smell it much, except when the person next to me was smoking. ★I had the Oyster Fry Set Meal for 1,000 yen (tax included). The oysters were small but perfectly fried and juicy.

On the first Sunday of the month, my husband and I went to the "Garakuta Market" at Toji Temple. There were fewer people than in March, maybe due to the rain forecast for the afternoon. The market itself was not crowded, but the parking lot was full of cars with license plates from other prefectures. This year, the cherry blossoms bloomed early, and even Toji Temple had mostly green leaves. There were more visitors for sightseeing than for the market. We stopped by "Ohagi no Tomoyama" near the west gate of Toji Temple, and then headed further west to Brother Bakery. Along the way, we saw a long line at Mister Gyoza and walked to Kujo Street. It was past 12 o'clock, and when we saw the lunch menu board, we suddenly felt hungry for a meal that suited our tastes. So, we had lunch at "K・s Shokudo." My husband had the fried chicken set (700 yen), and I had the seafood bowl (800 yen). My husband said the fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, which he enjoyed. He wished there was a bit more rice to go with the delicious fried chicken. As for me, I was satisfied with the generous portion of fresh seafood for the price. It was a great find in our neighborhood, and the food was delicious. The restaurant had alcohol disinfection and acrylic boards on the tables, so we felt safe dining there.

I went to "K・s Shokudo" in Karahashi on Nishioji-dori for lunch! Nishioji is an area that I am quite familiar with. I had the afternoon off on this day, so I decided to have lunch at "K・s Shokudo" in Karahashi. I had previously written an article about this place being great value for money when I went there for drinks, so I heard that their lunch was also great value. It's popular, but I don't think you'll have to wait in line! I had the eel bowl set meal for 1000 yen. It came with a generous amount of eel on the bowl, along with potato salad and ham on a cabbage salad, miso soup, and pickles. It was a good deal. The amount of eel was amazing! Even for 1000 yen, it felt cheap considering the quantity of eel. Is it okay to be this extravagant with the toppings? With this much eel, it's bound to be delicious, but I worry if they are making a profit. The menu is still filled with hospitality and seems like it may not be very profitable, so please visit and support them as much as you can! Just kidding. #マッハのオススメごはんですよ(adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});にほんブログ村

K・s Shokudo, a sushi izakaya in the Karahashi area, claims to be the most knowledgeable blogger in the Nishioji area, Mach. The izakaya "Tsubomi" that was in the Karahashi area was replaced by a different restaurant last year, so I visited the sushi izakaya "K・s Shokudo". The interior of the restaurant is the same as the previous Tsubomi, with a counter, tables for two, and tables for four. It's a perfect place for a casual drink! The friendly master and a staff member are working together. The cost performance of the sushi is excellent! ・Benitoro 280 yen ・Tsubugai 280 yen ・Live octopus 240 yen ・Sea bream 280 yen ・Kanpachi 340 yen (in order of photos) Tsubugai is excellent! The sweetness comes out as you chew. Kanpachi is fatty and melts in your mouth. Anago 480 yen The size of the Anago is unusual! (In a good way) ・Negitoro roll 240 yen ・Shrimp miso gunkan 280 yen The Negitoro is this size at this price. The shrimp miso has a strong shrimp aroma. Irresistible. ・Shime saba 240 yen ・Engawa (off-menu, depending on availability) ・Scallop 280 yen ・Salmon roe 380 yen It's a little hard to see in the photos, but the Engawa in the top right corner was outstanding. An off-menu item that can be ordered depending on availability. It was highly recommended on that day. The extremely thick Engawa was the best I've ever had in the market. (You can't see it) It was about four layers thick, like stacking Engawa from a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. I was impressed by the firm texture that melts into fat. Be sure to ask if they have Engawa in stock! The a la carte menu is also good. Homemade thick fried tofu 380 yen Freshly fried thick fried tofu is a sure thing. Crispy and tender. This is also a great cost performance. Horse sashimi platter 1000 yen For some reason, even horse sashimi. A platter of three types: lean meat, mane, and two-layered. It's a great dish. A sushi izakaya with good cost performance. To be honest, the prices are so low that they don't make much profit, so I hope it becomes more popular and the turnover rate increases! Other menu items and a good selection of drinks are available. Reviewer page on Tabelog: http://tabelog.com/rvwr/mach/ This is the place for a date! I am satisfied with the taste and cost performance. It is also close to Toji Temple and there is a bus stop nearby. Water is served in a jug, which is funny.
