Buffet I visited around 10:40 on Sunday afternoon for ¥2000. I wrote my name on the waiting list and was the 6th or 7th group in line. The opening time is 11:30. I passed the time at a nearby roadside station until the opening time. When it was time, they called out the reserved guests in order. Some people who had reservations didn't show up, so I was able to enter on the first round. The dishes made with fresh local vegetables were really delicious. The cucumbers were crunchy and you could taste how fresh they were! The bite-sized onigiri were cute. I think I had about 6-7 of them. There was also a refreshing curry with a tangy taste. I even tried mixing the curry with mapo tofu. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal! After eating, I walked around Sanzenin for some post-meal exercise (lol). I tried to make a reservation the day before, but they said all the slots were full... so I decided to try my luck on the day itself. It's recommended to make an early reservation! It's a peaceful location, but there is no parking lot. I parked at the Sadokoin entrance parking lot for ¥400, which was the closest. There was another parking lot a bit further for ¥300. I think the parking at Sanzenin was ¥500...

I visited the long-awaited Kinrin-san. I arrived at Ohara Bus Stop, then visited Jakko-in and Sanzen-in before heading to the restaurant. I had a buffet lunch. Every dish was incredibly delicious. I have always thought that Ohara vegetables are delicious, but I was impressed by the dishes that bring out the deliciousness of the vegetables. The menu changes with the seasons. I will definitely go back! Thank you for the meal.

Today, my husband had a day off, so we decided to visit a popular restaurant called Rairin located in Kyoto Ohara, which was featured on the TV show "Kaere Monday". It is known for long queues, with a waiting time of over an hour. I tried to make a reservation in advance, but all the slots were already full! Not wanting to wait for over an hour in this heat, we arrived at 11 am even though the restaurant opens at 11:30 am. There were already 3 groups of customers ahead of us. Since there was no parking available, we parked at a nearby paid parking lot, close to the Ohara Sanzenin Temple, which has plenty of parking spaces. It was about a 3-minute walk from there. The restaurant opened at 11:30 am, with reserved customers being seated first, followed by first-come, first-served. Inside the restaurant, there were several table seats and one sofa seat, as well as 3-4 terrace seats, which were empty due to the heat. Luckily, my husband and I were seated inside, as the tables were filling up quickly. We narrowly avoided a 1-hour wait. For lunch, they offered an obanzai buffet, featuring small rice balls with various fillings and curry made from vegetables harvested in Ohara. Today's selection included simmered Kamo eggplant, fried Manju chili peppers, burdock salad, potato salad, okra with sesame dressing, chilled cucumbers, konjac, shredded daikon, and bitter gourd salad, among others. Each dish had a gentle flavor that brought out the taste of the ingredients, and the bite-sized rice balls made it easy to try everything. The highlight for me was the fresh vegetable salad with delicious dressings, including onion and carrot dressing, and celery and apple dressing. I particularly liked the celery and apple dressing, which I ended up buying to take home. There were also many foreign customers at the restaurant. Although I often pass by Ohara, I rarely venture into the interior, so it was nice to discover new places today. The lunch was a bit pricey, but it was definitely worth it, and I look forward to visiting again in the future! Thank you for the meal! I will be back!

The atmosphere is excellent. The staff are kind and it's a pleasant experience. The parking lot is a bit far, costing ¥400. It's a buffet style with a variety of Japanese and Western dishes made with Kyoto vegetables. They have several types of onigiri, miso soup, and even lemon chicken curry. The only photo is of the curry. The stuffed bell peppers, burdock salad with a hint of sansho pepper, and stewed eggplant were my favorites. I was so full on the way home.

While visiting Jakkoin and Sanzenin, I decided to stop by this place. I inquired about making a reservation, but was told that all reserved seats were full, so I arrived a little after 11 am, wrote my name down, and waited. Since it was a Sunday, there were about 20 people ahead of me, so I took the opportunity to visit Jakkoin while waiting. I was able to get in after about an hour. Just be careful because they don't call out your name when you leave the store. "Sato no Megumi" offers a rice ball lunch with a variety of seasonal vegetable side dishes and a salad buffet. There were about 10 types of vegetable side dishes, with seasonal items being the main focus. The rice balls were small, but I managed to try all the varieties. If you're not a fan of vegetables, you might find it a bit lacking, but I enjoyed the variety of vegetables and the flavors were not too overpowering, making it easy to eat. If you find it lacking, you can always supplement with curry or more rice balls. The atmosphere was peaceful and wonderful.

Arrived around 10:30 on a regular day, wrote my name on the reception table outside the restaurant as there were already 2 groups ahead of me and the restaurant opened at 11. After exploring Daisho-in Temple, I arrived at the restaurant a little after 12 and it was already full. However, when I told the staff my name, they seated me within 5 minutes. The food was simple but well-seasoned, and didn't need any additional condiments. The tempura made with new onions was especially delicious and unforgettable.

The high point is being able to dine on the terrace with your dog. You write your name before the store opens and wait. It's a restaurant where you can eat Kyoto vegetables as side dishes in a buffet style. The sake rice ball, fried onions, kinpira burdock, and curry were so delicious that I kept coming back for more.

A friend visited from Osaka. For the first lunch in Ohara, I thought it would be safe to go to Kurasu. They only take reservations for the first seating at 11:30, so I made a reservation. The komatsuna namul was delicious today. The best was the bite-sized onigiri. I could just eat onigiri alone, haha.

Lunch buffet for 2200 yen. Lunch sweets and coffee for 400 yen. Vegetable side dishes, onigiri, curry. All simple and lightly seasoned but delicious. The fried Seigoin daikon was particularly impressive. The lemon chicken curry was also delicious with a sweet and spicy flavor. The cheesecake I added after the meal was a bit burnt but rich. The blend coffee, based on Mandheling, was without acidity and had a flavor I liked. There's always a line at this place.

Near the bus stop where I got off to go to Sanzenin, there were 10 couples waiting here only. The buffet is great value at 2,000 yen, with dishes like deep-fried daikon, meat miso stuffed peppers, sautéed rape blossoms, broccoli rolls, burdock salad, and assorted hand-rolled rice balls, all delicious. The lemon curry and salad dressing are homemade, with celery and onion in them. The vegetable dishes are very satisfying. I couldn't resist getting seconds of the daikon fry, simmered daikon, and meat miso stuffed peppers. Even though I was already full, I ended up eating more.

I visited this restaurant during my sightseeing in Kyoto on a day off, but there was a long line even before opening. I gave up on waiting and went to see Jakkoin Temple. When I peeked back on my way out, a seat had just opened up and I was able to get in smoothly. They offer a variety of small rice balls and a buffet of vegetable dishes. The vegetables were incredibly delicious! The stuffed bell peppers had no bitterness at all and were very tasty. I was impressed by the deep-fried Daikon radish that had been simmered to perfection - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I couldn't help but go back for more. All the other dishes were also delicious. It seems like the menu changes depending on the season, so I want to come back again. With all-you-can-eat for 2000 yen, the cost performance is great. However, since it's a small restaurant and you have to wait outside, it would be great if they introduced an automatic reservation system to let you know the waiting time and order.

Autumn is in full swing, taking a walk among the autumn leaves to Sanzenin Temple. In Kyoto, a tired woman sings alone, "Ohara-san, Sanzenin ♫", and heads to the Sanzenin area. Along the path from Sanzenin to Jakko-in, there is always a crowd gathered at a cafe that has caught her attention for a while. Around 10:40, she writes her name on the waiting list, but there are already a large number of customers waiting. After enjoying the autumn leaves at Jakko-in, she returns around noon, but there is still a long wait. Finally, around 12:50, her name is called... It had been over 2 hours since she wrote her name. This is a buffet cafe where you can enjoy various types of onigiri, delicious curry, pasta, fried rice, and more. The onigiri lunch costs 2,000 yen per person, and a Heartland beer costs 700 yen. All the dishes are delicious, made with natural ingredients that showcase the essence of Kyoto, yet appealing to young people. The quality and value of the food make it crowded. The dressing on the salad was so delicious that she bought a bottle on her way out for 680 yen. If she ever goes back to the Sanzenin area, she will come here first, write her name on the waiting list around 11:30, and try to get in right when they open. Bon appétit!

During the peak of autumn leaves, I went to Kyoto. I followed the typical route of Ohara Sanzenin - Rurikoin - Demachiyanagi Kamogawa - Sanjo - Pontocho. For lunch on that day, I stopped by a buffet near the bus stop at Ohara Sanzenin. It was a buffet of local vegetables and temari onigiri (hand-rolled rice balls) on a narrow road leading to the mountains. The buffet lunch of Ohara's blessings cost 2000 yen for two people. There were various Kyoto vegetable dishes, each with attractive colors. The flavors were light but delicious. It felt like the dishes were prepared by skilled chefs. The popular temari onigiri came in five different flavors. They were cute to look at and delicious to eat. The freshly picked morning vegetables were very fresh. The homemade dressing was just right. Also, for the guys, there was curry at the buffet. This was an exquisite homemade curry with a great taste. It was a proper and delicious healthy lunch in the mountains. A great restaurant. It's popular, so it's better to make a reservation in advance. If you don't have a reservation, you can go to the restaurant around 10 am. Write your name on the waiting board. If you're around the 10th group, you should be fine for the first round. The restaurant opens at 11:30 am. After writing your name, you can explore Ohara for about an hour before returning to the restaurant.

It was incredibly delicious! Even though it was a Friday, we arrived before 12:00 when they opened at 11:30 and there were already about 30 groups waiting. We went to Rurikoin Temple first and then came back to eat here! The rice balls were delicious! The Kyoto vegetables were also great! The green pepper with meat miso topping was surprisingly tasty even though the green pepper was raw. I definitely want to go again! It gets crowded during the autumn leaves season!

Arrived around 12:30 on Friday. There were about 20 people waiting in front of the restaurant. I quickly wrote my name and sat on a chair outside the restaurant, waiting for about 40 minutes until my name was called. The menu seemed to have changed, and now you could eat all the rice balls and pasta you wanted for 2000 yen. Every dish was well-prepared, and there was not a single thing that was bad. The service was done by about three ordinary female staff members, but I couldn't see the kitchen staff. However, based on my intuition, it felt like the work of someone who had been a hotel chef for many years. Not a specialist in Japanese or Western cuisine, but more like a chef from a famous hotel. The taste was very similar to the hotel buffets I have eaten at various hotels before. It felt like enjoying a delicious hotel buffet in a traditional cafe in Ohara.

I arrived at "Obanzai" at 11:45, aiming to eat there. Although they opened at 11:30, there were already about 10 groups waiting. I ended up being seated around 13:00. The all-you-can-eat Obanzai was ¥2,000 (it used to be ¥1,800). The vegetables were very delicious. The miso soup and rice balls were also tasty. Surprisingly, the curry rice was the best. It tasted sweet at first, then the spiciness gradually kicked in. It was unexpectedly delicious (I ended up having 2 servings). It was a joy to enjoy delicious vegetables in the midst of nature at the outdoor table... I ate too much~ Thank you for the meal!

There is a buffet-style restaurant about a 10-minute walk from Sanzenin Temple where you can enjoy onigiri, curry, and Kyoto-style obanzai dishes all you can eat! I have no intention of holding back from the start! For me, being able to eat what I like at my own pace is the ultimate luxury! The Ohara Megumi Buffet Lunch is 2000 yen for 75 minutes. The menu includes dishes like miso soup, lemon chicken curry, rice balls (5 types), Kamo eggplant fry, komatsuna namul, ratatouille, winter melon stir-fry, meat miso stuffed bell peppers, and more. Everything has a gentle flavor. The miso soup, which I usually don't drink, was also delicious. My husband seemed satisfied after conquering all the dishes. I particularly enjoyed the konjac simmered in sweet and spicy sauce, the potato salad with a hint of mayo, and the lemon chicken curry. The reservation is only available from 11:30, and if you don't arrive by 11:45, it will be canceled. If you arrive at the opening time, you can get a seat for the first round, but if you come around 12 o'clock, you may have to wait a bit. It's a pretty popular restaurant. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

I visited Raikin in Ohara, which is famous for its Kyoto-style obanzai buffet. Reservations can only be made starting at 11:30, so I booked a week in advance. The restaurant was fully booked as soon as it opened. The dishes were all delicious with a gentle flavor, but there weren't a lot of options. The price seems to have gone up, now at 2,000 yen including tax. Since there is no parking lot, I parked at a nearby paid parking lot for 500 yen.
