I have used this shop many times in Uji, so I jumped in just before closing when I saw it had opened in Gion Shijo. I ordered a set of matcha and warabi mochi, and a set of gyokuro and matcha dango. It was my first time ordering gyokuro, so I was taught how to make it properly and replicated it carefully. Delicious! The matcha was tasty, but the gyokuro was also delicious. The cute parfait bar is also popular.

This time, I went on a foodie trip to Kyoto with my son. While walking, it started raining, so we were looking for a café and found a place where everyone was eating ice cream outside. We went up the stairs and found it quite empty, so we were seated right away. When we looked at the menu, I saw they had a matcha Mont Blanc parfait, so I ordered that while my son went for a classic option, the Itoh Kyuemon parfait. The parfaits arrived quickly, and after taking one bite, I was hooked. I had planned to share, but ended up finishing it all in no time. We'll definitely come back next month for more. I especially liked the Mont Blanc part and the matcha chantilly cream. Thank you for the delicious meal!

In the Gion area, where should we go for something sweet? Unfortunately, it's raining in Gion Komori, so let's go along Shijo Street. We passed by Gion Ishimae, but let's see some other places. Gion Tsururi is unexpectedly closed today, so let's try somewhere else. Finally, we ended up at Itoh Kyuemon, which opened in 2019. It's a renowned Uji matcha shop that has become popular in Kyoto in recent years. We ordered the fluffy Uji Kanetoki for 990 yen, which my mother said was not as impressive as Himitsudo in Nippori, Tokyo, but the matcha was excellent. We also ordered the special Itoh Kyuemon parfait for 1,390 yen, which was my personal favorite with a variety of toppings like shiratama, matcha jelly, and chestnuts. The parfait was plentiful and delicious, and we were able to enter the store after a short wait with the ticket system. It was a great find by chance, and the traditional Japanese sweets made us feel warm and content.

Visited Ito Kyuemon during Obon season and was able to get in without much of a wait. Ordered the Shine Muscat Matcha Parfait and the Uji Kanemitsu Matcha Parfait (with green tea). The matcha ice cream here is on the bitter side, which I personally enjoy. It's the perfect treat in hot Kyoto. The green tea is also consistently delicious!

I had a summer limited edition shaved ice with a big scoop of daifuku inside a cookie. I chose a set with a cappuccino. Since it's summer, the tea they served was also iced, so I recommend getting a warm item in the set. There were many shaved ice options on the menu, so I want to come back and try others as well.

On Friday at 18:30, I went to Itoh Kyuemon in Gion, Kyoto. The flow of people in Kyoto seems to be returning, with many foreigners. I went to the cafe on the second floor and ordered the Itoh Kyuemon Parfait (1,090 yen). It arrived in 5 minutes. The green-centered visual is likely to appeal to tourists. I took a bite and it was delicious. The parfait consisted of matcha senbei, whipped cream, sweet red bean paste, mandarin orange, shiratama rice balls, rich matcha ice cream, black beans, matcha jelly, agar, vanilla ice cream, and matcha syrup. Sprinkling matcha powder on top enhances the matcha aroma and flavor. It's a bit difficult to eat the top layers without making a mess, but mixing it together from the middle onwards is quite delicious. On the way out, I received a 30 yen discount coupon for the souvenir shop downstairs. Many tourists were choosing souvenirs in the shop downstairs. Matcha sweets are definitely a popular choice for Kyoto souvenirs. Thank you for the meal.

This shop is really located all over Kyoto, so I'm not sure if you've been there or not. However, this time they have a beautiful hydrangea parfait for the season, so I decided to visit. It seems like you can eat it at any shop right now. The base is matcha flavor, and the hydrangea part is made of matcha-flavored paste with hydrangea leaf-shaped matcha-flavored cookies. Hmm, the paste is light and goes well with the matcha ice cream. The cookie adds a crispy texture. It was a reliable Itohkyuemon.

Hydrangea parfait and tea set for 1,790 yen. The drink is "Matcha Capuchino" with matcha hydrangea jelly and hydrangea-colored crushed jelly. Leaf-shaped matcha cookies and blueberries resembling hydrangeas. A parfait with a subtle sweetness, combining seasonal ingredients and visuals that soothe the mind. A lovely Japanese parfait full of Kyoto charm, limited to this rainy season. ♡⃛

This place has its main store in Uji. Despite the popular Toruri nearby, the eat-in area was bustling even on weekdays. The first floor is for sales, and the second floor is for dining in. There are various seating options like counters and tables, making it easy for even solo visitors. They serve tea instead of water, which is a plus. The only downside is that there is only one restroom, so there might be a wait. I tried the seasonal "hydrangea parfait". Personally, I found the matcha to be weak and the whipped cream to be overly sweet. The agar jelly was not too firm, but everything else seemed a bit too sweet. The azuki beans were cooked well but also sweet. I enjoyed the acidity of the hydrangea jelly. The gold leaf shaped like hydrangea was also sweet, and the cookie lacked flavor. Overall, I didn't quite like the balance of flavors, but the service was decent, and the prices were reasonable compared to other expensive shops (parfait for 1300 yen). I don't dislike this place, but the taste doesn't quite suit my preferences. I might come back since it's close to the station. Thank you for the meal.

Discovered Ito Kyuemon along Shijo Street in Kyoto, which opened in 2019. Located at the corner of Shijo Street and Yamato Oji Street. They offer green tea for tasting at the storefront, which caught my attention. The first floor is for sales, while the second floor is a tea room. Although I have been doing a lot of food tasting this time, I also wanted to leisurely enjoy their parfait desserts. I found a parfait bar inside the store, which looked like the ice cream bars often seen in mail order catalogs. I chose the "strawberry" flavor from the 6-7 varieties available. It was a fancy parfait bar that matched the elegant atmosphere of Gion. The rich matcha ice cream paired well with the sweet and sour frozen fruits. So many delicious treats, it was a happy experience. Thank you for the meal. This was my last stop for this food tour. Next, I want to conquer Nishiki Market!

I tried the Instagram-worthy matcha ice cream bar that I often see on Instagram. It's supposed to represent the parfait they offer at the store. The taste was good, but what really stands out is the presentation. It's a great option for foodies looking for something visually appealing to try while out and about.

There are many foreign tourists. Matcha soba, cold one. 999 yen. When I entered alone, I was recommended to sit at the counter. I felt the distance was too close to both sides, so I declined and was seated at a table for 4 people. There are no outlets, so it's not convenient. The Wi-Fi is also not working. I hope they improve their facilities.

I visited the cafe to try the sakura matcha parfait that I saw on Instagram after cherry blossom viewing. It was a weekday evening, but there was a wait of about 40 minutes due to the cherry blossom season. The sakura matcha parfait was cute. The sweet bean paste and rice crackers were very delicious. I thought it would have been even better if the ice cream hadn't melted. The indulgent matcha parfait had a roll cake on top, and the matcha ice cream was both regular and strong, which was very tasty. I recommend the indulgent matcha parfait!

Ito Kyuemon near Yasaka Shrine. It was hot in March, so the coldness and sweetness of the parfait soaked into my tired body. It's a popular spot for tourists, so there may be a wait even on weekdays. You can shop on the first floor and have a meal in the cafe corner on the second floor.

I received a set of strawberry matcha parfait with tea. My companion got a set of Uji tea with sweets, including matcha daifuku and Uji matcha. The strawberry matcha parfait had plenty of strawberries on top and inside, which made me very happy. The chef's special rich strawberry sauce paired perfectly with the matcha sweets. I chose Uji matcha for my drink, which went perfectly with the parfait. The matcha jelly was delicious. The Uji matcha was so easy to drink and really delicious. You can make reservations, and there is nearby coin parking available. Electronic payments are accepted. Please note that dining in at this restaurant is only available on the second floor (accessible by stairs). Thank you for the delicious meal! ❤️

At the Gion Shijo store, they offer a seasonal limited dessert plate ♡ It includes matcha chocolate cake, matcha cheesecake, mini parfait, and daifuku, making it a very satisfying plate! They also have a tea set, but the hojicha they serve is delicious and I enjoyed it by itself. The powdered sugar pagoda is beautiful ♡

Strawberry Matcha Parfait♡
I was planning to have a matcha parfait, but unexpectedly encountered a collaboration of matcha and strawberries - a handmade pink strawberry meringue and abundant red strawberries catch your eye in the "Strawberry Matcha Parfait" (՞ ܸ. .ܸ՞)︎♡
On top of the colorful domestic strawberries are chef's special rich strawberry sauce, strawberry meringue, chewy white mochi, slightly bitter Uji matcha jelly, matcha ice cream, and matcha syrup, creating a beautiful contrast of red, white, and green in the parfaitꪔ̤̥ꪔ̤̮ꪔ̤̫
The sweet and sourness of the strawberries, along with the sweetness and richness of the matcha, come alternately and make it enjoyable to eat without getting tired. The deliciousness makes you want to say, "One more?"⸜(◍ ´꒳` ◍)⸝
They haven't forgotten the slightly Japanese atmosphere with red bean paste and white mochi♪ It's also nice to be able to enjoy a warm tea♡

Located near Shijo-Ohashi in Gion, this shop specializes in sweets made with tea. I visited the ground floor on a weekend afternoon in early January. After some consideration, I decided to try the "Midori no Sanpo" cheesecake, which combines Uji matcha and cream cheese. It had a rich and delicious flavor. Thank you for the meal.

"Ito Kyuemon" in Kyoto City. I got ice cream to go. Looks great~(laughs) The taste is average!! There is a cafe on the second floor where you can also have a meal. It should be less crowded in the early afternoon. You can use PayPay. There is no parking available.
