At Kawauchiya, located in Branch Matsui Yamate, it's a fun place so I often come here. I don't go to the same restaurant for lunch. I still have some restaurants I haven't been to, so I'm going through them one by one. That's where I'm at now. I resigned as the branch manager in Osaka on September 30th. It's been 8 and a half years. The branch has been established for over 70 years, but I am the 16th branch manager. In terms of tenure, I am the third longest-serving. When I took office, I set a record as the youngest branch manager in Osaka (47 years and 10 months), and at that time, I was the youngest branch manager nationwide. To be honest, I feel relieved. My hobbies at Kawauchiya are reading and exploring food, but in addition, I enjoy taking photos of mountain wildflowers and pottery making. However, I have kept the latter hobbies sealed for the past 12 years since becoming the branch office manager. Now, I will gradually resume them. So, mentally, I feel at ease. I will have more time with my wife. I wonder if she will dislike it. In the past year, despite my hearing impairment, I managed to distract myself with the work of a branch manager, but now I will have to confront this illness head-on. I feel relieved, but at the same time, I may inadvertently burden my wife. I know that. It's not good. But I will probably end up doing it. Certainly. So, I will make an effort to visit the restaurants my wife likes. One of her favorites is "Ume no Hana." Whenever we have guests, we often have bento boxes delivered from "Ume no Hana." We frequently visit the restaurant in Nara. This time, we visited Branch Matsui Yamate, and my wife is in full "I want to go" mode. It's the middle day of the autumnal equinox. A visit on the Autumnal Equinox Day. The restaurant is not too crowded. Well, considering it's lunch, it's reasonably priced. My wife ordered the Ume Lunch for 2,150 yen. I had the Ayame Lunch for 2,700 yen. The Ume Lunch includes rice with a choice of seasonal dish, eel steamed dish, or Japanese-style gratin. My wife chose the Japanese-style gratin. Even though it's called the Ume Lunch, it includes the following menu items: small side dish, steamed egg custard, tofu salad, simmered dish, fried tofu in broth, tofu soup, choice of seasonal dish, eel steamed dish, or Japanese-style gratin, pickles, and dessert. The Ayame Lunch includes the following: Mineoka tofu, simmered tofu, steamed egg custard, tofu salad, famous tofu dumplings, osu no gi (fried tofu pouch), tofu soup, fried tofu in broth, tofu soup, choice of seasonal dish, pickles, and dessert. The Mineoka tofu is delicious. I also like the fried tofu in broth. The famous tofu dumplings are a must-try. The tofu soup is like a "soup," think of it as "tofu soup." At Kawauchiya, it's a "tofu soup." My wife says it gets mushy, but Kawauchiya purposely waits until it breaks apart. It's delicious. It's a private room. Considering the price, it's not bad. A revisit is also a good idea. After all, my wife likes it here.
