Lunch with a view of cherry blossoms in Kyoto at GREEN TERRACE on the Philosopher's Path. The best location for cherry blossom viewing! They have a terrace where you can bring your dog. I chose a terrace seat, but be sure to bring a parasol if you want to sit outside as some spots don't have shade. I ordered the Kyoto-style obanzai lunch set with a drink for 1,650 yen. I had a pink grapefruit juice, which was delicious. The March menu featured a tangy-sweet fried chicken with tomato and green onion sauce, simmered new onions and minced meat, and more. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, similar to oil-drizzled chicken. The simmered onions and meat dish was thick and flavorful. Everything was delicious and satisfying. I arrived around 11:00 and had to wait for about 25 minutes to be seated as the third group. By noon, it started to get crowded and the wait time was over an hour. So, it's better to arrive early to avoid long waits. Overall, a great dining experience! Thank you! Address: 72 Hozumiincho, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Hours: Wed-Mon 10:00-18:00, Closed on Tuesdays.

I arrived in Kyoto from Kawasaki by car late at night and wanted to have an early lunch. I searched for a restaurant but there were not many places that allowed dogs or were stylish. However, I found this restaurant on Philosopher's Path. They serve lunch starting from 10:00 and the food is delicious with a Kyoto vibe.

Located along the Philosopher's Path near Ginkaku-ji Temple. Kyoto-style obanzai lunch (chicken breast with sweet vinegar sauce) with a drink included. Everything was carefully prepared and delicious. The interior was mostly filled with foreigners. The sweets also looked very delicious. It's a healthy lunch with lots of vegetables.

A walkway connecting Ginkakuji and Nanzenji, named "Philosopher's Path" after Nishida Kitaro, who used to walk this path every morning contemplating philosophy. I love Philosopher's Path, and a cafe surrounded by greenery along it is here. There are strict rules posted at the entrance:
- Seat changes are not allowed
- Seat assignments are not allowed (you can choose between indoor or terrace seating)
I chose the terrace seating on this day, and was able to pick from available spots. There is plenty of greenery, but not all seats have a roof, so be mindful of the sunlight. The lunch menu only offers obanzai set meals, with the option to add a drink or dessert. On a not too hot day, I could easily spend hours here. Bon appétit.

I walked the path of philosophy for the first time in about 30 years. It was during Golden Week, but this area was not too crowded so I walked slowly. I found a lovely shop and decided to go in. The space was very tasteful and calming. I ordered the most popular Basque-style cheesecake and Earl Grey tea. The Basque-style cheesecake melted in my mouth. It was rich but had a refreshing aftertaste, making it seem like I could eat as much as I wanted. I'm not sure why, but it was incredibly delicious! The Earl Grey tea was light in color but had a wonderful aroma. I want to come back again.

Discovered while taking a stroll along Philosophy Road. The interior with sofas, tables, and paintings has a nice feel to it. The view of the greenery along Philosophy Road was very calming. The terrace seating has a resort-like atmosphere and just looking at it is soothing. The Basque-style cheesecake was quite filling.

After visiting Ginkakuji with three other people, we stumbled upon a nice café while strolling along the Philosopher's Path. Feeling a bit tired from walking, we found an empty sofa seat on the outdoor terrace and decided to give it a try. The other two sofa seats were taken by a Japanese group, and the only table was occupied by a Western couple. The atmosphere on the terrace facing the Philosopher's Path was really nice. I ordered a cannoli and a hot coffee for 850 yen. Both the cannoli and coffee were delicious, and I had a relaxing and enjoyable time. It's funny how the restaurant has low ratings on Tabelog. During our visit, the indoor seats were full of Western customers, and there were about 10 Western people waiting outside.

I had Kyoto-style obanzai, pumpkin terrine, and canelé. Each dish of obanzai was carefully prepared and delicious. The pumpkin terrine for dessert had a gentle flavor with a hint of spice. I bought canelé as a souvenir, and it was crispy on the outside and moist inside, with a delightful rum flavor. I think it would be well received as a gift.

☆While strolling along the philosophical path of Terrace Pets OK, I happened to casually stop by for lunch without a reservation, but it seems like a good idea to reserve a spot given the location. I was able to put a sheet down and even place my pet on the sofa, which was fine. The vegetable-rich obanzai lunch was delicious! I'd love to come back in this pleasant season!

Sakura-themed lunch at a restaurant in Kyoto (Sakura): Spring-colored chicken nanban, mashed taro with miso, new potato with butter, rapeseed flowers in broth, sakura shrimp omelette, colorful salad, half-sized sakura terrine, champagne rose tea. The lunch was full of sakura-themed dishes, with vibrant colors and healthy vegetables. The chicken was juicy and delicious. The set included a drink and a mini dessert. The sakura terrine was a rich dessert with a blend of Japanese and Western flavors, using sakura bean paste and cream cheese. The champagne rose tea had a noble aroma and was delicious.

While strolling along the path of philosophy, I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for a place to have lunch. They have an open terrace where you can bring your dog! When we arrived around 2 pm, the outdoor seating was full, but we only had to wait for about 5 minutes before being seated inside. I ordered the fried chicken set meal, and my partner got the pasta lunch. The fried chicken was well-seasoned and tasty, and the other side dishes were delicious too! We also got to sample their coffee, which was also delicious, so it seems like a great place to use as a cafe as well!

I stopped by Green Terrace while taking a walk on the Philosopher's Path in Kyoto, which is considered the best walking path in Kyoto. The spacious sofa terrace and the stylish and calming interior of the shop allowed me to relax comfortably. The Basque-style cheesecake, as recommended by the staff, was absolutely delicious. It paired perfectly with the blend coffee and cappuccino! The terrace seats were constantly filled with customers walking their puppies, and there were various rental items specifically for pets. The staff were also very accommodating. I had a wonderful time relaxing while admiring those adorable creatures. I highly recommend this cafe if you happen to be nearby.

It is a cafe surrounded by nature with a calm atmosphere. We stopped by for lunch on our way to Ginkakuji Temple. Pets are allowed inside, so it is especially recommended for those with pets. I had the Keema curry and my friend had the pasta. I don't usually eat Keema curry, but it was amazing. It was the best Keema curry I have ever had. I also tried a bite of my friend's pasta, and it was delicious too. I highly recommend this cafe.

In the midst of bustling tourist crowds, I found a hidden gem on Philosophers' Path where it's less crowded even on weekends. I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon tea at a riverside café, overlooking the fresh greenery. It was a delightful experience, and I'm looking forward to coming back for lunch sometime.

The season of fresh green leaves is the best. For lunch, there is only one option - an obanzai set. It's nice to be able to eat miso soup and rice. Other options include light snacks (such as fried potatoes or cake salad) and desserts.
