At Moriku, the takoyaki is delicious but if you order a frankfurter, it's better to get another takoyaki. The morning set at Ichijo-dera feels cost-effective, but in reality... The highball at the gyoza restaurant KFC Derby was incredibly delicious, so I highly recommend it! Is it limited time only?

After a 3-year renovation period, I finally got to visit the newly reborn Kyoto Racecourse! The massive 88 billion yen investment from horse racing fans really paid off, as the place is incredibly beautiful and luxurious with so much to see. I usually bet on exacta boxes or single horses, and surprisingly, I won a decent amount this time! Kyoto truly lives up to its reputation as the home of jockey Yutaka Take, with the popular horses winning left and right. Looking forward to the autumn when Kyoto hosts the G1 races like the Shuka Sho, Kikuka Sho, Queen Elizabeth II Cup, and Mile Championship. I hope to win a reserved seat for one of them.

Congratulations on the 1000th request. I visited the renovated Kyoto Racecourse on April 22, 2023. Despite the rain, I was able to enjoy the new facilities. The stands and paddock are conveniently close. For lunch, I had the familiar CoCo Ichibanya. As for the betting...

At Kyoto Racecourse, there is a treasure trove of delicious food! Even if you don't do horse racing, you can fully enjoy the food! There are many food stalls set up, making it feel like a festival! Luxurious bento boxes like the one in the photo are also available! Enjoying food while enjoying horse racing! It was the ultimate luxury experience! This steak bento box had incredibly delicious meat with a fantastic sauce that made me want more even after finishing it! I highly recommend going there, even if you think you've been deceived! By the way, I didn't win any bets but enjoyed the food and went home happy!

Kyoto Day 1 will come later! For now, let's start with Kyoto Day 2! The location is only at Yodo, haha. The final race of the classic races, the Kikuka Sho, is usually held around the third Sunday of October. The day before, we stayed at a hotel two stations away from Yodo Station. I originally planned to go early in the morning, but I got lazy haha. I arrived at Yodo Station about 15 minutes before opening, and to my surprise, there was no line at all. I couldn't believe it, it was so empty. I managed to get a good seat easily. Since I arrived early, I took a walk around and discovered some new ramen shops thanks to the Kansai Ramen Derby. I will share some pictures of the walk later. Just like during the Derby at Fuchu, there were original cocktails and cups available for the Kikuka Sho, so I bought one. My cup collection keeps growing. Unfortunately, I didn't win at the Kikuka Sho. I kept betting on two horses, but only one came in, and the rest were photo finishes. Oh well, I made up for it at the Tenno Sho (Autumn) the following week though!

■Visit Date: April 29, 2018■Items Received: Hamburger, American Dog (corn dog), Mitarashi Dango (sweet soy sauce dumplings), Ice Cream■MEMOVisited on April 29, 2018. It was the day of the GI race, the Spring Tenno Sho (Emperor's Cup) event. Arrived a little before 9 am and the place was already crowded, but managed to secure a seat and enjoyed the races from the first one. For lunch, had a hamburger and Mitarashi Dango at the racecourse, and for snacks, enjoyed an American Dog and ice cream while watching the races. The hamburger had a perfect combination of buns and patty, very delicious. The Mitarashi Dango had a nice balance of burnt dumplings and sweet soy sauce flavor. Watching the races outdoors has its own charm and it was a delightful experience. It made me crave for foods like American Dog that I don't usually eat. Although the results were not great, my wife seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed her first visit to the racecourse, so I think it was a good day overall.■Blog (Japanese): https://ay-style.net/?p=30688
