The theme of this year's summer vacation is how to spend an incredibly hot summer. I have been going to Osaka recently, but today I went to the Keigan Aeon Mall for the first time in a while. This shop is more expensive than before, but the new thing is the all-you-can-drink soft drink combo fee of 2000 yen. It's a bit of a price hike. Not everything in this store is delicious, but there are some really tasty items if you choose carefully. For example, today there was a beef stew made with Nishikyo miso. It had a lot of meat and was simmered to perfection. There was also something like chicken nanban, which was very delicious when eaten freshly fried. The homemade tofu here is also very tasty, and even the mapo tofu uses a completely different tofu, which I think is quite authentic. The dessert selection is also quite varied, so I think it's a pretty good deal for 2000 yen.

There is a wide variety of dishes. The original menu items such as pickled potato salad and white miso beef stew are delicious. The timing of the potato fries was good and it was nice that they were warm. The dessert selection is average, but it was nice to see a variety of jellies and jelly sauces on a hot day.

We visited the restaurant with 6 family members including grandparents. It was our first visit in a while and we noticed that the buffet now included a drink bar and the price had gone up. However, the variety of dishes was great, with not only the usual all-you-can-eat options but also unique international dishes and creatively flavored items, all of which were fresh and delicious! The beef stew was especially tasty with plenty of large beef chunks. The desserts like matcha tiramisu, unique textured pudding, and cheesecake were also delicious! The kids had fun creating their own desserts by combining colorful jellies in clear cups. The whole family was very satisfied!

I visited here for lunch on a regular day. It was quite busy even though it was before 3 pm. I was seated at a table with a good view outside and enjoyed the buffet dishes. Today, they were holding a Kyoto Gourmet Fair, and the beef stew with Nishikyo miso mixed in was rich in flavor with chunks of beef that were delicious and plentiful. The fat from the beef also added a nice taste. The tofu hot pot and rich pudding made with Kyoto eggs were also delicious. The Shanghai-style fried noodles I always have here had an oyster flavor that I like. The variety of hors d'oeuvres was also tasty and enjoyable. I had a full round of desserts and was extremely full. The only downside was that the price had increased significantly. Until last fall, it was 1649 yen including tax, but this time the bill came to 2200 yen with a compulsory drink bar... The increase in price is understandable due to the current situation, and I know the restaurant is not trying to make excessive profits, but I can't help feeling disappointed by the 500 yen increase enforced by including a drink bar that I didn't really want. Well, I know I'm a bit of an oddball for not ordering the drink bar and just focusing on eating, but is there any way around this? That's my sincere feeling. Sushi, which is my favorite, is no longer available, and the decline in service is a bit disappointing. Perhaps it's time for me to graduate from all-you-can-eat buffets at my age. I mainly focused on sushi and balanced my meal with various dishes. The steamed chicken char siu had a tender texture and was delicious. The fried eggplant with dashi sauce was a hit for me as I love eggplants. The bouillabaisse had a good flavor from the crab and was tasty. The Korean pancake and vermicelli seemed a bit dried out as they weren't rotating much. The pork curry was a bit too salty and tasted too strong. That was a bit disappointing. For dessert, I almost tried all the options. The mango pudding and tofu dessert had a smooth texture and were delicious. I wished they had ice cream, especially in this hot weather. Overall, it was a good deal for the price, and I enjoyed a variety of dishes. The restaurant was a bit warm inside, which was a bit of a downside, but I understand it's due to power shortages. They were taking thorough measures against infectious diseases, with staff wearing masks and gloves. Among the dishes I tried, the sushi was quite delicious. However, there were only salmon, squid, shrimp, tuna, egg, and mackerel, so I would have been happier if there were more varieties. The Chinese fried rice and Shanghai fried noodles were seasoned well, and the mapo tofu had a nice numbing sensation and was delicious. The fried chicken had juicy meat and a spicy coating. I enjoyed various ingredients that I don't usually eat. I also managed to try all the desserts and as a fan of sweets, I was satisfied, although the variety was a bit limited. The affordable price allowed me to enjoy a variety of dishes, and the calm atmosphere inside the restaurant made it a pleasant dining experience. The staff's calm and polite customer service was also impressive, and they were good at promptly replenishing the dishes that ran out. Having a filling lunch at a late hour means you won't need dinner, so the cost performance becomes even better. Visited in August 2019, this buffet restaurant in Kyoto offers all-you-can-eat sushi without extra charge. It was crowded on a Friday night. They offer a variety of dishes including Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine. I enjoyed freshly fried tempura, hamburgers served every 45 minutes, pasta, pizza, and dessert. The hamburgers were juicy and delicious with tasty sauce, and I had three of them. The pasta and pizza were also delicious. The dessert selection was a bit limited, but the strawberry roll cake with plenty of cream and strawberries was enjoyable. Thank you for the meal. After considering our options, we settled on a buffet. It was a Saturday lunch, and the price was 1,599 yen per person (including tax). The buffet had a variety of dishes including French toast, pasta, pizza, bouillabaisse, pot-au-feu, fried fish, seafood gratin, sushi, crab rice, tofu, grilled mackerel, tempura, udon, mapo tofu, sweet and sour meatballs, and more. The food was better than expected, with highlights being the seafood gratin, bouillabaisse, and chili squid and egg. The sushi was average, but the crab tomalley was delicious. The Chinese dishes were also flavorful. The strawberry mousse and waffles for dessert were tasty. Overall, the buffet was good value for the price, although there could have been more meat dishes. It's worth considering revisiting for dinner, as they offer more meat options at a higher price. Rating: 3.2

I entered the restaurant on a regular Thursday at 11:20 am. There were a few customers. I ordered the "Weekday Adult Lunch Buffet" for 1,618 yen and the drink bar for 214 yen, totaling 1,832 yen including tax. I ate a lot and felt like I got my money's worth. I left around 12 pm, and by then, about half of the customers had left.

It took a while. Since we arrived a bit late, I called ahead and found out that if you enter by 5 pm, you can enjoy a 90-minute buffet from that time. The drink bar is an additional 199 yen. They have all-day service, which is quite nice! When we sat at our table, each person received a voucher for the fair's "Domestic Roast Beef." Here's what I ate today: ◆ Domestic Roast Beef: They cut it right in front of you and serve it with burnt butter soy sauce. The meat was a bit tough, but it had that meaty flavor. The kids took one bite and said it was too tough, so they didn't eat it. ◆ Crispy Chicken Fritters made with rice flour: These were really crispy and the chicken was juicy and tasty. The BBQ sauce that came with it had a bit of acidity, but it was good on its own. ◆ Sushi: I was surprised to see they had sushi! It seemed like they had more varieties this time. I only had one piece of tuna, which was okay. ◆ Tomato Cream Pasta with Crab: It was quite light, and personally, I would have preferred it to be a bit richer. When the Napolitan ran out, this pasta came next, so it seems like they change the pasta dish every time. ◆ Clam and Okra Mentaiko-style Pasta: Very light and not much Mentaiko flavor, and the clam broth was weak. Next, I tried tempura, pumpkin stew, lotus root kinpira, marinated horse mackerel, and tandoori chicken with pineapple. The Chinese dishes were authentic, and the oyster sauce stir-fry was tasty. My eldest daughter loved the fried rice and kept going back for more. We were so full that we couldn't enjoy the hand-rolled sushi at the end. The pizza was a bit dry, but the ratatouille was delicious. The dessert selection was extensive, including self-made waffles, panna cotta, mango pudding, chiffon cake, and soft serve ice cream. Beer was also available for order, but there was no all-you-can-drink alcohol option. The menu consisted of pasta, pizza, and frozen fried foods, which seemed catered towards children. The dishes were repetitive and lacked variety. Every 30 minutes, freshly grilled hamburgers were served at the open kitchen in the center. The sound of a chime signaled the arrival of the hamburgers, prompting everyone to grab one. The food was underwhelming, and I felt no excitement. I was stressed about not having a place to put my bag. I noticed that other diners had baskets for their belongings, so I asked a staff member to provide one for me. The system required you to ask for things; otherwise, they wouldn't be provided. Even the beer I ordered took a long time to arrive, and I had to remind the staff to bring it. The service and the repetitive frozen food dishes did not justify the price. If the price were significantly reduced, and other restaurants were fully booked, I might consider revisiting. I visited a buffet dining restaurant located inside the Aeon Mall Kyoto Katsuragawa store, which opened about a year ago. Today, my main purpose was to visit this restaurant, not for shopping. It was a visit at a slightly awkward time, but it seemed to be just before lunchtime, so the price was a little cheaper than dinner. There are about 60 dishes available for all-you-can-eat, and the most delicious ones that I remember are: - Squid and vegetable chili sauce - Five-flavor fried rice - Octopus and crispy plum mixed rice - Waffle The "five-flavor fried rice" has a gentle taste but is satisfying enough that I risked overeating and getting a full stomach. The waffle is self-serve, so you have to cook it yourself, but the crispy dough is delicious, so it was better to eat it without any toppings. It was completely unexpected that it was tastier without chocolate sauce. There was a peach curry that caught my eye, so I tried it, but it was a mild curry to the point where you wouldn't know it was curry unless told. It's the type even children can eat. It would be appreciated if they could provide some spicy spices for adults. I sat at a round table sofa seat, but there are plenty of square table seats as well, so it has a good capacity. You may not be able to eat as much as you paid for, but the satisfaction is definitely worth it. Then, you can go back to shopping. It was a great time.
